  1. Don't forget the CVL's and the CVE's, they could use some love too.
  2. At first they were designed to do just that......
  3. Yes, the Enterprise is based off of a Kitty Hawk class ship, just had reactors instead of conventional power. There were two different island structures for the Enterprise as well. I was ships company on the USS Constellation CV-64, (Kitty Hawk class) two cruises on the Enterprise CVN-65, and ships company on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72. I've been on the Kitty Hawk, America, Nimitz, Ranger, to get cross deck equipment, or to take it to them, I don't see the issue of which carrier you are going to use i.e. the Nimitz or the Lincoln, same class, so unless you have the entire Air Wing Complement of Air Craft to put on it with the correct squadron skins and all the correct side numbers, why worry about the number on the side of the boat.. This reminds me of conversations I've had on here about DECM and how it really works, not how it's modeled on here. pointless after awhile. LOL Anchors Aweigh and Fair Winds and Following Seas.... Hoss
  4. All the modern carriers from CVN-68 to CVN-77 are all Nimitz class carriers, if they have liveries, put the number on it you want. The Forrestal class is here now, same with them, CV-59 thru 62, There are two Kitty Hawk class, CV-63, 64, the Enterprise CVN-65 sits on the same hull, just different power plant, and two different island structures. I would like to see a light carrier of the Independance class CVL's done for the Marianas. And the great Essex class CV-9 THRU 47........ the Essex served from 12/42 to 06/69. So basically they only need to build one of each class and use the livery you want for your various needs. Hoss USN ret.
  5. The French used it in Vietnam quite a bit. I've seen videos of the Marianas used as Vietnam. Imagination, and adaptation are keys to getting the most out of a very good but limited sim. An A1-D Skyraider, F9F Panther would be nice to go along with the Corsair, with an Essex class Carrier thrown in. The developers will make what they want, without a collective effort to make an authentic Order of Battle for a theater (ETO, PTO) we will just have do what Gunny Highway said and adapt and overcome, with what we have. LOMAC should still be the name of this game.
  6. Yep, long sleeve jersey, Cranial, float coat, flight deck boots, pockets all sewn up, but it's still loud as hell............................... hot, smelly, gets yer adrenaline going good..... There are all kinds of mechanical sounds on deck when flight ops are over. GSE running around he deck, Air Boss bitchin at every little thing over the 5MC...... elevators going up and down. Respot going on for next Recover/Launch, the SH-60 coming back on board.
  7. Is your Firmware up to date? for the stick? latest one is Firmware 12, the Throttle is firmware 23. with the Stick firmware, when I was running 11, I could see all the new stuff in the TARGET Command GUI. page. But I use the F-16 stick. When I used the latest version of the 128dx script it would not compile because I was not running the latest firmware. http://ts.thrustmaster.com/faqs/eng/thr_eng_00136.pdf go to your start menu, in search type "Firmware Update" and the ThurstMaster firmware updater program will open, you will see the F/A-18 stick and your throttle, click on the stick and follow the instructions. Piece of cake................ Hoss
  8. SLUF's, you gotta love em..... Hoss
  9. My DCS mantra is "Practice, practice and practice some more" Your Deception Repeater (DECM) going into Repeat should not effect your RADAR at all, the Interference Blanker takes care of that. If it does, it's modeled wrong and should be fixed. If your wingman can lock and shoot, their DECM is not the problem either. So go back over the tutorials, all you can find of using your AARAM's. Otherwise your Dire Straights problem means you spent "Money for Nothing"............. sorry, had too.... Grim Reapers have good tutorials on Youtube, and some other good pilots have tutorials on there too. there are 104 Grim Reaper tutorial videos on the F/A-18 alone on their youtube channel. In fact they have good stuff on everything DCS has to offer. Cheers and good luck. Hoss
  10. Ask the people from Meza Mount. I believe Monstertech has mounts for those, not sure if they use the same size (dimension) drop arms to get them to work.
  11. F/A-18 Advanced Super Hornet, IRST, Conformal tanks, updated cockpit, new engines.......
  12. P-51 familiarization where it has you move the controls on left side of cockpit freezes, you can move the flashing controls all day long and the mission hangs up. It's been that way for years.
  13. We will have to model all hands on deck for a FOD Walkdown then................the Air Boss will be watching................ better have your head down, eyes on the deck, and not be Sky Larking.................. Hoss
  14. Patients, grasshopper!
  15. BlackHog Explorer.................. the two red buttons B4/B6 I use for Radio 1, 2, (UFC and SRS)..... B2/B5 I use for Channel Up/Down and the two rotary Axis you can use for your UFC volume, Freq select is not an axis, but B1/B3 could be used for that. I have mine mounted to the top of the Monstertech table mount holding my throttle. Your eject and jettison stores/tanks are top left, easily programed with a tempo long/short commands. This takes a lot of commands off of my HOTAS that I can use for something else. It's cheap compared to VKB/Virpil or any of the others, and the staff are great at getting you answers to questions you may have. They are in Germany. Cheers Hoss
  16. When I looked at the screen shots of the set up I realized I'm in the same boat as Kirk66, my throttle is on a Monstertech Table mount. I guess I could shim (Thin washers) the mounting screws for the throttle and mounting plate enough to lift it up and slide in your part. Thanks for the file, I need to call my buddy with the 3D printer and see if he can make it for me or upload it to Shapeways or similar 3D printing site.
  17. When I click your like it takes me to the lua, pardon my ignorance but how do I use it?. I have an account, but I don't see anwhere I can download yours or Quaggles files. Help the ignorant on how to use these................ please. Thanks Hoss
  18. My OS is on a Seagate 500Gb SATA SSD, all my games are on a 1Tb Samsung 970 Pro M.2 SSD. (DCS beta/release installs, IL2 Beta/release installs) They install, run and update just like they are on the C drive. I have a Raptor HD for archives, and game, controller, skins, missions, etc back-ups. Remember SATA SSD's go through the mobo SATA controller, the M.2 Nvme SSD's load right into the mobo chipset....... much faster, DCS loads very quickly. Hoss
  19. Don't lock your monitor in nvcp or in game, leave it at the native refresh rate, do you have triple buffering on? it improves performance with vsync on. If something is enabled in game, don't enable it in nvcp. Then reverse that and see which one works better. How far are you away from your TIR Camera? when sitting and playing? 24"-36" is optimal. I use the TrackClipPro and my camera is on the far left hand side of my monitor. Watch your head camera on the right corner of your TIR GUI and make sure you don't loose track, or have red reflections. https://www.mediafire.com/file/yvtx9qkgh7osb99/Track_IR_Profile-11-28-21.rar/file Good luck
  20. For one turn your cockpit off from 1024 everytime, to just 1024. When you go from looking at your cockpit to looking outside your VGA will change the way it renders frames, and hic-up. Also see what happens when you go from Full-screen on, to off. We still have not seen your TIR settings. I can PM you my TIR profile if you would like to try it.
  21. Without screen shots of your settings we would only be guessing about your problem.
  22. Some screen shots of your nvcp settings, your TIR settings and games graphic settings would help us figure out your issue. My old graphics card, monitor set up sounds like yours, if I turned off vsync I could not and did not want to play the game. I never turn on vsync, or triple buffering in nvcp, I used the game vsync, and my monitor was a 60hz refresh and it was running great on an old 1060 card.
  23. Nice video teaser of the real thing.

  24. On a real -5 UFC which is a Night Attack version vice the -4 which is a Non-Night Attack version is the DS1, 2, 3-7 & 8 have NVG filters over them (the assembly you screwed on over the displays) so if you found some green plastic you could make your displays DS1-8 lettering appear green and look like the real thing. The real UFC's Night Attack lights are much dimmer in night mode than what you see on yours. DS1-8 are always green even if the UFC is not in Night mode, which is the only time you see all the green lights you have on now. the NVG filters are like fresnel lenses too, if you are not looking at it in the correct aspect/angle you can't read the displays. It does look very nice.............. great work. Cheers Hoss
