LOL! I am not alone in this...interesting the time span between these sightings and the similarity. On another note, I have never seen or read any account that is similar to my first sighting in 1971.

Cool, I won't boycott it because of any actors I may or may not care for... Actually, never could stand Val Kilmer. Funny some will forego a fun movie because they have issues with an actor... I'll see it for the visuals, not for them. I will have to watch this in IMAX with a large popcorn, Milk Duds and a Coke which in combo, costs more than the admission.

That is tough, but I would guess ~1000 - 2000 ft. And I would agree with at least the football field analogy they used...so ~300ft front to back...That would mean equidistant in all directions of the shape from one end to the other since it was triangular. But size is so hard to say because there were no references up there...just appeared huge to me from my perspective due to the amount of sky it blocked out. So that is why I feel it was low altitude. Like I said, it was a pitch black starry night sky. The triangular light positions would not say much in themselves. The fact I could see the outline clearly is because it blocked out the starry background and therefore was clearly defined.

Watched the videos...Interesting case and very similar. In my case, I did not observe any other lights other than the three white lights on the three points of the triangle. Also, my object never accelerated while I could see it, but during the entire observation moved painfully slow. The duration was about 20 minutes. The things that stand out to me is the size, the low altitude, blocking out the sky, no sound and how slow it was moving.

Works fine for me after making a few adjustments to my World and Volume sliders. So no real complaints here.

F-18 beach demo with improved sounds.

Sounds good, I’ll give it a try... And, a cool video with a nice display... I was waiting for a high speed pass though... You have a smooth stick there. -
No, but I will take a look. Thanks :book:

Fun thread... all joking aside... I wonder how many of us have actually witnessed a UFO sighting. At the risk of drawing Ire and the crap that goes with it... here is my experience never shared before except with family. I have witnessed two events, both at night in a pitch black cloudless, moonless sky. 1971 - ~22:00 - Atlantic Beach, North Carolina: Three friends and I saw a 3 “ship” that looked like bright planets far apart at three different points in the sky, they came together at high speed from great distances to a triangular formation very close together and stopped dead straight up overhead at very high altitude for about 30 seconds. Then each accelerated at equal rapid speed in opposite directions, each to the horizon in less than one second and disappeared. Of course, no sound and to us it looked like it was not in our atmosphere. I spoke to my friends recently and we all remember the exact same thing. We were on the beach with an unobscured view. 1986 - ~18:00 - Greenville, North Carolina: I was alone and driving to the grocery store when lights caught my eye (I am always noticing aircraft because of my forever interest in aviation), there were three white lights forming a triangle against the black starry sky. I looked again and noticed they did not seem to be moving, at least not very fast which I thought unusual. I pulled over and stopped to watch. This came from the East, came painfully slow directly toward my location until it was directly overhead. The three lights formed a triangle which blocked out the stars. It was huge and of course appeared black as it was a pitch black night. It appeared to be very low because of the huge size and amount of sky it was blocking. I could easily see the dark triangular shape. The white lights were steady, no flashing. It slowly turned South and eventually moved on so slowly I could not imagine anything that Id ever seen airborne that could move so slow. Can’t explain either occurrence. And I do not believe anyone can. So. Yeah you can laugh... or explain it away, but i know what I saw. Two different extremes.

Length of Runways comparable to Anapa. I don’t usually land fast jets on short runways unless it is an emergency. But can stop on them too. Of course 1st striped white lines or before. Various weights. But after a mission, I am usually light and free of ordinance. Why land at 39,000 lbs. Very rare I land with ordinance or more than 3k pounds of fuel but it happens with same result (I will dump fuel if I have too). yeah wind, ensure you are on the right approach into, not with the wind.

Index and Oculus S owners advice requested please.

Already had a Sony noise cancelling expensive pair at $80 I bought for air travel. I attached them to the Rift S (wrapped around out of the way) so no cords to fool with. Sounds great and no big deal to use. Any quality ear buds should work well. -
Whether right or wrong (don’t care), I touch down on or before white lines at ~125, apply brake, usually tapping right/left or both to stay straight, then full if needed, to taxi speed at less than or close to half way down runway. Facilitates early turnout to taxi to parking area and clearing of runway rather quickly.

100% Multi-Player I find SP pretty boring and prefer flying with and against human pilots. Don't mind flying against AI in MP but yeah...The AI behavior still needs some improvements. Will be a great day when that happens.

New RTX 2080, very poor performance

And you cant post your system specs? -
Dynamic Multiplayer Campaigns.

Got into this habit and continue to do so. Really doesn't take it very long to rebuild on next run.

If you are flying Combat with placed units, why not just turn them off...civ vehicles have no place in combat areas anyway. If you are just joyriding and sight seeing in cities like Vegas or Dubai let em roll. Doubtful ED will ever tweak civ traffic for the reasons QuiGon states.

11GB Ram is a good thing...liking the EVGA Card. “Official nVidia GTX 1080 Ti Specs: 3584 Cores, 11GB GDDR5X. This is boosted over the GTX 1080’s 10Gbps GDDR5X memory speeds, resultant of work done by memory supplier Micron to clean the signal. The heavy transition cluttering of early G5X iterations have been reduced, allowing a cleaner signal in the GDDR5X cells without data corruption concerns.”

Same as dburne. I went from CV1 to the Oculus S and am very happy with the upgrade. I see no issues with tracking. Get yourself some nice quality earbuds and you are good to go. I know nothing about the Index and I really don't care lol So nothing to offer there. -
Please expand on your “seems to be” assertion.
-
From CV1 to Rift S Guess Im lucky. Have not had any tracking issues and hardly ever see white flashes. PD 1.6. 2XAA Very pleased with the Rift S

LOL! Jester is a comedian and adds a cool “human” aspect to a sortie!

You really cant go wrong with either. So I say both. F14 is a-lot of fun either by yourself or with a live RIO. If you have a friend to fly with multi-seat is a blast. Pilot and RIO Animations are really well done. Would hope ED duplicates those animations. Too many pluses to mention with the Tomcat. That said, just love the Hornet though. So its hard to recommend one over the other. If you are a decent experienced Sim Pilot, neither is really that complex with systems being relatively easy to learn. I frequently jump between the Harrier (a blast to fly), the Hornet and the Tomcat with no issues.

Interesting...do a performance test and get back to us.
