Brunner Force Feedback Joystick Base
upupandaway replied to Mozart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In case anyone wants to activate force trim and can´t get it to work - set the desired buttons in CSLW2Sim (Hardware Trim) for "Release Elev/Ail" and "Reset Elev/Ail" for trimmer and trimmer reset. At first I tried with the "Release / Reset Collective" option and kept wondering why it wouldn´t work. The CLS-E is a fantastic stick for helicopter flying. -
It´s a (slightly) different way if playing dcs i think. It´s not just immersive; I think instead that it is one of the most immersive VR experiences overall. I put my setup together over the course of almost ten years and never looked back after switching to VR. Combat is still just as much fun, but even simple flying has a new quality to it. despinoza is principally right about the cons, but most of them are not as distracting as it may seem. Flickering on loading screens is terrible though. It needs a fix...

I tested the new Cockpit in VR yesterday and I can only say that I liked it. I only noticed that the functionality for dimming the cockpit illumination is still bugged. On the other hand there‘s a lot of detail in the rear part where previously there were only flat textures. Good job ED!

Brunner Force Feedback Joystick Base
upupandaway replied to Mozart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I wrote another email to them and the repsonse i got suggested that it is currently already compatible with the cm2 version of the stick, no mention of any complications. So after reading this i placed my order and now i´m really looking forward to try it out. Time to put the good old g940 to rest. Add to this that the changelog for v4.23.3 of their software lists (initial basic) DCS support. -
It is a waste of time, not just in this context...

A very good idea indeed. +1

Make the forum site load a different image (i. e. aircraft) each time you load a page, showing off the many beautiful modules, unless there is a specific product to be advertised at a given time. Or make them specific to the corresponding sub-forums.

Haha, what a blast from the past! Looks like we won´t be getting that Corsica map after all... Pity... Flying the 109 over 1944 Nomrandy is still better than present day Corsica. The K-4 is a great module in my eyes! It´s definitely a challenge to fly properly, but worth the effort.

If I could, I would give you some rep for your review. Anyway, after reading through it, I think I´m gonna switch to the 5K+ once I can get my hands on a 2080ti..

Brunner Force Feedback Joystick Base
upupandaway replied to Mozart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
@Berniyh I´m also very interested in this. Just noticed it recently. Who knows how long the old plastic gears of my G940 are going to last... Brunner responded to my inquiry very much in the same way. It seems that next to FSX, P3D and X-Plane DCS is the only title that doesn´t support dynamic forces yet and that it´s going to be a while until this changes - as always without any concrete indication. But it makes me hopeful. @heloguy You can properly use the force trim functionality of DCS helos on this? Since helos are my main reason to go for this base I would think that it´s worth a try. If FFB is added for DCS later it´ll be perfect. It´s just very sad that the T-50 grip might not work with it... -
NS430 being charged for different modules?
upupandaway replied to BlazingTrigger's topic in DCS: NS 430
I‘ll just throw my 5 cents on the table here. Been a (mostly) happy customer since 2010 now, and I literally own everything there is to be owned in DCS, but this is where I draw the line. If this payment model for functionality like the NS430 is the way we are headed, my support for ED ceases right here. I really don‘t care to worry about whether I want a 2D or a 3D-Version of this instrument or not, and have to pay for it in every new module. Especially so as this looks very much like a test balloon for a modified business model. This is how you destroy the simplicity and beauty of modules in DCS IMHO... (although I still appreciate the many concessions made by ED in the past) Ask a higher price from the start or do whatever you feel is necessary, but don‘t sell me this NS430-voodoo module which I initially hoped would be more broadly available for 15$ - be more "up front" with your plans from the start. Otherwise, this is where I check out. This sucks ever so slighty... (And please don‘t give me any stuff like „don‘t buy it if you don‘t like it“, „you got x and y for free instead“ and all this complacent talk) -
 that worked for me too

DCS: F/A-18C Hornet - Early Access Launch Trailer
upupandaway replied to NineLine's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
A simply beautiful trailer! The end of a long journey. -
Good question...

+1 It‘ll get here when it gets here. The last time I really got genuinely excited about this stuff was back in the „Kickstarter days“ I believe. It really does not pay off.

Iris magnetic force feedback
upupandaway replied to Sokol1_br's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Necro, I know... I wonder what became of this. If they ever come out with a ffb base that I can mount the warthog or any f-18 type of stick to, I‘d be happyto get one. Otherwise why else would they have mounted this specific grip to it :joystick: -
