questions from Luthier on the 190
upupandaway replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I guess a number of people were actually awaiting some kind of news about a beta-release in the nearer future. What I gathered from previous statments is that they were only gonna start making those once they have all the information that´s necessary since initially it was (and still is) ED´s brainchild. This is nothing too different from the discussion/presentation in Yoyo´s thread about the FW190´s engine or the Spitfire´s stability, but that was months ago. Why come forward with these questions now? I´m sure there are always lots of people willing and able to help. -
Cool, I tried again with BS2 upgrade and FC3 and got the discount this time. Thanks for changing that. Even more awesome now!

Just wanted to point out something I found while browsing the DCS World directory - whilst actually looking for something else this caught my attention since it might hint at a feature that people have been asking for for a long time. The question is if this really has anything to do with a "new look" for IR imagery within DCS World or when the files were created by an update. In the folder DCS World\Bazar\Graphics\lma there are several Lua-files of which one is named edge_infrared.lua. I´m unsure if this has been mentioned or discussed before, but posting can´t hurt I guess. Perhaps it seems a little doubtful that EDGE will really make it into 1.2.8, but apart from that it is nice to see that apprently first clues of the transitional process are already showing up.

10 years from now, still looks like a 14 years old... Long time exposure has taken its toll though:

Hehe :) Touché... It may seem a little immature but when I read "fière" I just had to think of that other thread where the apparent lack of female members in this community was being discussed.
-
Fière? Est-il possible que tu sois une femme? ;) Sur ce forum?!

In the following order: 1) Micorprose Falcon 4.0 --- The systems fidelity, scope, overall immersion factor, graphics and my first "real" joystick (MSSW Precision Pro) 2) DID F-22 ADF --- awesome missions and gameplay, cool graphics... (I used to play this secretly at night when everybody was asleep) 3) Jane´s F/A-18 --- carrier landings in the flying computer blew me away, but the terrain looked very bland

Based on the brief info on their Kickstarter page I thought they were a Moscow-only studio. On the other hand, wasn´t one of the campaign videos shot in Kiev? I don´t remember exactly. The things you could read in the newspapers during the last days were very concerning, hence the mixed feelings...
-
So things remain complicated, there are no easy answers, just mixed feelings, but it´s good to hear from RRG. Also, thanks for the broader insight into the general development status. I didn´t realize until now that you were based out of Kiev...

Awesome! Will check this out. -
Believe it or not, I once got a refund from Valve. :)
-
Sure, either way there´s no reason to be dissatisfied. It is awesome and I´m very much looking forward to that, too.

:D Same here... -
Yeah, is FC3 regarded in this context as an upgrade from FC2 like BS2 for BS1? Because neither FC3 (40$) nor the BS2 upgrade (20$) do generate any bonuses although I´m pretty sure they were purchased without any disounts in my case.
-
Just to be clear: Any idea how the retroactive registration is going to work exactly? Will those discounts... 1) ...stack like new purchases and offer a discount in the future? or 2) ...will you be given a 20% "refund" for each of them that can be used on future purchases? To me it sounds like the second option.
-
A quite generous move from you guys! Thanks a lot! This gesture is very much appreciated. In combination with the addiional Mi-8-discount the next modules are going to be rather low priced. Bring them on!

Thx for sharing. This doesn´t make wating easier though...

Thx Cobra.

Some quite epic nonsense! Like it very much :D

As long as the kingdom is not split in half, all should be well... ;)

Official Update: DCS Pics difference??
upupandaway replied to Loz's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
At the very least Silver Dragon found something interesting which hasn´t been in any official screenshots AFAIK: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1654600&postcount=1 More gorgeous models beside the Su-24. -
Wow, even the Fuchs... if it is true... I just foujnd this now. Silver Dragon, you wrote that an ED employee confirmed this will be in DCS? Some of the models on the wiki page already are. I don´t quite understand why something like this that has nothing to do with any new modules is being kept so low-profile. Or am I just not looking hard enough? They certainly look polished enough to be shown in dev updates...

For some time in 1.2.6 I think there were more MP missions with CA slots, but I read somewhere that the servers used to crash also because of CA. I enjoyed the RTS-style gameplay, but also duels with other humans, shooting helicopters with tanks, sneaky ambushes with SAMS. ED has already started to improve many small things that are barely visible. The constant expansion with new sound samples for explosions, missiles, tank engines etc. is starting to look quite interesting and it looks like there is still more to come.
