How is the Nevada map being welcomed so far?

I fly almost only Nevada and Gazelle in DCS (collidable trees! ;)). You are right level of detail is nice. But a big letdown for me is in many areas (where I like do create some combat missions for our helicopters etc) level of detail is far from good. I was also hoping for a new FLIR simulation with the new DCS renderer... So I would say it is not wrong to buy nevada in a sale. (at least in its current state) -

My idea: it would be nice to use the NADIR as a recon tool. If you have the viviane on your target you have distance and direction displayed. Now you can show your own position in the nadir and draw a line on the F10 map. So you will get the coordinates where viviane is looking at. With these coordinates you can create a new waypoint in the NADIR. Waypoint 5 for example. Some "aux" functions of the NADIR are not simulated (for example "aux + 9"). The devs could use "aux + 9" as recon function. So now if I select waypoint 5 on the NADIR and press "aux + 9" a script will trigger the coordinates of wp 5. It could create a trigger zone at these coordinates or if these coordinates are in a preset zone it could activate a trigger in the mission editor etc.... This way it would not hit the performance because it will only run the recon script if you press "aux + 9". It should be also work without problems in MP.

Thanks for the info. It would be really strange if such a forward slide would happen in RL with almost no possibility to prevent the movement. Anyway the FM is great IMO and this forward slide issue should be easy to fix.

Hi everyone. Since the gazelle release I started to create some small coop missions to fly with my squadron friends etc. and now I would like to share them with you ;) All the mission text lines were in german so expect a bad english translation but hopefully you will understand most of it. The missions are minimalistic so do not expect complex triggers or voice overs etc. (frist mission is more or less a weapons training but mission 2 and 3 will be more interesting) My goal is to build many small missions in a short time so that there is no feeling of repetitiveness. The immersion factor of such missions is the way you "play" them. Have some A10, Uh1/Mi8 and off course Gazelle pilots and work together as good as you can. Here is a smooth RL takeoff (military variant). I do not see any "huge" pitch correction to prevent any forward slide. yes, maybe that's it and hopefully it can be fixed.

Already one of my not so perfect first day autorotations gives me the impression, that we have here a very good flight model in dcs: (real) :thumbup:

Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway

As a future DCS Gazelle pilot I guess I will mostly use Nevada because of the collidable trees. Hopefully we will see also collidable trees in the caucasus map with the 2.5 update. In such a case this dlc seems to be a must have and the price is ok. Without collidable trees I will wait for a sale. -

Then we should have the option to force IFF on/off in MP. Especially since some DCS high fidelity modules are also using the current arcade IFF which is maybe for some people an inappropriate feature ;)

as long as there are still a lot of possibilities for military modules (especially military helicopters! ;) ) I would not spend dev time for civilian modules. Just my opinion.

1. That's why a working AWACS should be priority #1 and not an arcade IFF for DCS modules. 2. In this case and if visual ID is not possible I should stay out of that engagement. 3. Seems to be a bad choice of skins in this case (Isn't there a red flag skin for the F15?). Anyway in this case I have to use comms.

Yes I do. 1. AWACs (AI or human) calls. 2. raygun/bullseye calls via voice comms 3. visual ID if they are in dogfight and I need to help. AFAIK only FC3 modules have the arcade IFF not the DCS modules. (Don't know about the Mig21 but if they implemented the fc3 IFF it is for sure a sad thing)
