It has,and as of today it's still ridiculously long see screenshot, this is the state of Manston's grass.......not a game breaker, but equally not really realistic with due respect. So yes,it would be nice to address this please ED......when at all possible.

Just a heads up......after the latest update to the Open Beta 2.7.7.15038,the 'take off assistance' percentage bar has been re implemented into the 'Special Options' section, this will be on as default,so just remember guys to switch this off again if you have mastered the take off procedure,as I now have courtesy of team removing it in the update before. After spending hours mastering this there is no way I'm going backwards.

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
Basco1 replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
Lol......thanks very much mate .......it's a very small personal tribute to the great man himself. -
+1 What with the rockets and the implementation of delayed fuse ordnance, there's a lot to look forward to with our Mossie......not to forget your upcoming 'V for Victory'Campaign Greg........it's the gift that keeps on giving.

reported Reflector gun sight out of whack.

I personally was'nt aware of this Max.....much appreciated old chap -
The DCS Mosquito is going to be an absolute beast of a module once we hopefully receive delayed fuse ordnance.....to be able to get in really low, tree top level and clinically take out targets really excites me. This is basically what the Mosquito FB VI was designed for,I have so far thoroughly enjoyed my experiences with the new module, and it is set to get a whole lot better......a whole lot better, bring it on.

+1 Amen to that

Agreed Graf......the exhaust that covers the last two cylinders is modeled incorrectly,as you quite rightly point out that this one particular exhaust covers two cylinders....not one.

After reading Peachmonkey's entire message,it was this that I based my reply on.....I am more than happy with the cockpit.
-
......And me,the Dora needs a facelift,totally agree.

+1 My thoughts entirely, lights are on my next 'to do' list....apart from a few internal instrument lights I have'nt given the lighting much of a study,I have been too busy just learning to fly the Mossie in daylight conditions. Now all sorted I want to start flying night ops so will have to give the lights a little more attention me thinks, lol. @Reflected..Thanks Guy,great tutorial.....this is going to be so handy, very much appreciated old chap

Of course Graf, and we all have our personal methods to land.....if that works for you, then great.......I must apologise if my message sounded a little dictatorial in it's presentation,I did'nt intend it to come across that way. BTW I remember reading from a famous pilot a few years ago now......that a good landing is one where you can walk away from it ,Lol Loved your video on take off btw Graf, first class Sir

reported Reflector gun sight out of whack.
Basco1 replied to Aussie Pilot's topic in Bugs and Problems
+1 Agreed....the reflector gunsight in the default view (when you've moved in to view it)is off,it's too high out of the actual sight,as Aussie pilot's first picture shows,we need ED to alter it so that the default view(once you've moved in to view it) is sighted correctly, moved down.....like you can see in Aussie Pilot's second picture, that view is perfect. I'm also using Trackir 5 here too. EDIT: It would be interesting to know if VR pilot's are having the same issues......therefore my apologies in asking ED to correct this before we have the VR pilot's take on this. -
Yes certainly......I find if you take a longer, lower trajectory into the runway the landing is far more sympathetic,ie more gentle.....so don't come in too high, keep it low,and long,it'll also allow you to compensate more easily, your not fighting the controls. Anyway try it see what you think.

IMHO it's the 'rudder'.....but you guys must make your own conclusions. I spent almost an entire morning the other day trying to work out the Mosquito take off problem.......the issue is the rudder on initial take off.....as Yo-Yo describes. Yo-Yo says.....'The tail, generally, is out of downwash and the rudder control is close to zero till enough speed is gained. But it means that the plane gains STABILITY as well and no fast rudder work is necessary.' So given this, the method I use works,as it almost does away with the issue of rudder or brake inputs that inhibit a straight take off run,so when advancing the boost to 4Ib holding on the brakes and then swiftly advancing the boost to 18Ib the aircraft tracks down the runway smooth and straight.....this is key to a perfect Mosquito take off. However this is not my method......it is 'Holbeach's method' Advance throttles to 4 lb against the brakes, let go of the brakes, and advance to 18 lb boost swiftly......(this is where I was going wrong initially,I was feeding in the power too gradually, which allows the aircraft to snake all over the place). This will give you a straight run without the use of rudder or brakes until shortly after tail lift...compensate and lift off at 120 Mph.

Fantastic video Holbeach.....would love to see the same style video with the 'Controller Indicator' switched on so we can see your stick movements
-
Would definitely advise anyone interested in the Mossie to bind these to keyboard or controller buttons.....do not go there with clickable cockpit unless you want to play 'Twister',Lol.

Exactly !......Personally I can't see any sense other than having DCS from DCS.......so why go through Steam ?....you have to wait for everything....so why not delete the Steam version and simply download the DCS version? No brainer really......

I thought the same, but they will drop, hold your weapon release button in for longer and see link below. After the latest update the staggering of the bombs being released was altered so the bombs do not collide on the way down and blow the aircraft up.....this is all fine, however the staggering of the bombs from their positions is IMHO incorrect. The bombs when released should drop from left to right ie the No1 port position should release prior to the No2 starboard position, after all this is how they are positioned on the bomb panel,if they're going to stagger the bombs to stop the collision.....but ED has got this in reverse, which is why it confused me......No2 drops prior to No1.....and if you drop all four bombs together, the No1 position (Port/left) is the last to release/fall from the aircraft,I think this is incorrect.

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
Basco1 replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
I found this cracking good little video today please excuse if it has been posted/uploaded up already. -
@NineLine.....Actually NineLine...I personally did not find this helpful, since there is so little power going to the rudder for stabilization, until the speed has built up....the main reason the team removed the 'assistance percentage' bar in the 'Special Options' I believe. So because of this there is no point IMHO in having this on. For those still struggling with this I suggest you use the method I have adopted in the message above, courtesy of 'Holbeach'.....yesterday,before I found this gem of advice,I was getting two successful take off's if I was lucky, out of 5....today since adopting this method I am getting a confident 5 out of 5 successful take offs.....it's like a light has been switched on,lol. @bart....Thank you my friend much appreciated ***BTW If any member wants any help with their take offs please just message me I'd be glad to help.....I have done nothing but attempt Mosquito take offs for the past two days.....I have made all the take off mistakes known to man, written off countless aircraft but have now polished this art to a fine art.....with a little help from my friends of course.***

Same here and many thanks to Holbeach......your a lifesaver Sir.....this was really eluding me and your method nailed it for me
