I would like to have a Firebee to shoot at, I think. If not you could just make a livery for the F-4 or F-16 and call it QF-xx. Just ignore the guy ejecting when you hit it. :D

Haven't tried the noisemax thing myself, but IIRC from another thread a better value would be 0.5 instead of the 0.9 that are set. EDIT: Regardless of the actual value: Lowering the noise makes the textures more flat. So you can see vehicles better. But on most ground textures just increasing the contrast of the MFCD works decently for me. Still not great, we will have to wait for the new FLIR implementation by ED, but better than nothing.

Soo... Will news be posted there first or at the same time as here in the ED forums? Just asking because then I will check it more often. :D

Yeah, to me this is much more exciting than pretty train models!

There will be most likely some points they won't be able to build in the highest accuracy. They will have to make educated guesses about some functions. If they do it right, us players won't be able to notice. There will be very few people who will notice it (people who worked with the F-15E in real life), but those won't be allowed to tell us. I am looking forward to the Mudhen, but given its extreme complexity I admit I am a bit cautious as well. It being a two-person plane doesn't make it easier of course.

WORD! btw, any word about new FlaK?

I am more of a cat person, but those are cute dogs! :)

Great, thank you!

Haben die Jungs nicht mal gesagt dass sie zwei Module pro Jahr schaffen wollen? Ich fand das auch etwas sehr optimistisch. Eines pro Jahr fände ich schon hervorragend.

Dinosaurs would be great. They attack from the mountains of Georgia where they lived without the world noticing. ...or maybe not.

Since a 3rd party license will likely require contracts, deadlines, and spending money on it, I'll probably pass. I did talk to an existing third party about it though, and maybe there will be an opportunity to work on it at some point in the future. But they are busy right now, so not going to happen soon I guess.

Pffff! When ED eventually realize their policy is wrong and release those tools to the public I will jump on it myself. I have already prepared the 1m resolution altitude mesh of Midway (and Wake with the atolls around it) on my PC, filled the holes in a GIS, smoothed the surface, converted it to triangles, and noted the building positions (not many) on a map. Ready to go for the rest of the toolchain. Most likely that will mean get it into 3DsMax and adding roads and stuff (not many). Then export with special ED tools, probably with some configuration file for the airport properties. Can't wait.

Any chance to add this A/C as AI...Just curious
Aginor replied to uscstaylor's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
That's correct. You can import the blender model to 3DS, but the animations and textures will likely have to be done in 3DS. -
I think so too, but to be honest it may be fixed, I haven't tested it in some months.

If you find someone who can convert it to 3DS, you can model it in blender. It just makes things more complex and more prone to errors, but it has been done before. -
I'd like to come back to this thread because Wags said he'd like to answer some of my questions, but "at a later time". 2.5 seems much closer than a few months ago, so maayyybe now is the time? Anyway, there is also news concerning this topic. I was pretty excited to see the working wind shield wipers on the Mi-8, because that's exactly the "gameplay effects" I was talking about. And because we have seen the trains in the 2.5 WIP screenshots here's the next set of questions: - Will those steam locomotives produce appropriate columns of smoke? - If yes: will wind affect those? (strong wind can make them less visible) - Will they keep their engine on during short stops but turn them off when standing still for a longer time? EDIT: More about spotting. We have already discussed criteria for spotting objects by the AI, such as - contrailing - dependent on direction from sun (less visible when coming out of the sun, more visible on certain angles, glittering metal and so on.) Now I'd like to add more, based on smoke/dust. - A plane with a smoking engine (either an old, smoking jet, or a damaged piston engine, or a plane that is on fire) should be spotted earlier by the AI. - moving offroad vehicles should be spotted earlier because of the dust - same for moving steam locomotives - On the other hand that means that units that do not move shouldn't magically be spotted by the AI at great distances, which is the case now. Is that already included or at least planned for the NEAR future?

I would like to do that if weather effects in DCS were even remotely realistic. As they are now they are only an inconvenience for the player, not for the AI. Weather doesn't affect weapons or sensors either AFAIK. This needs fixing, then people will use it. I certainly will.

I was really happy to read an extensive C-101 changelog again! Now we just need that AFM. :)

Great. Was it any good? -

No disrespect intended, but: They have been saying that for years. Literally. And I have seen absolutely nothing of it yet. -

From the top of my head: - ATC is broken since.... forever. Before DCSW. - Tanking as well - Tracks as well - JDAM flight model is not only SFM but horribly wrong, since forever - Bomb splash damage, since forever - Clouds not blocking AI line of sight. Not sure if I should call it a bug. I think I do. since forever - Canopies cast no shadow (yes, I know, that's not a shadow but from refraction blabla. Still looks like a shadow. And it is missing in DCSW, making aircraft shadows look really bad). Since forever. -
I just +repped you for this because I didn't know that either. I actually have a memo list on my phone "people to +rep" so I can do it from my PC once I am at home. :D EDIT: About the negative rep: I don't remember if I ever -repped someone. I don't think so.

Low-poly Tornado for Tacview: first 3D model
Aginor replied to Gliptal's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Fair enough. It's not like the Tornados would be in dogfights most of the time^^
