  1. I never use rudder while refuelling and I'm fine. Maybe with rudder pedals will be a bit easier to do small yaw corrections which I do rolling now.
  2. That's good enough for me. Looks logic and I fully endorse your decision.
  3. Dual rail amraam has almost no drag. And in case you are worried about that, you can always drop the dual rails after firing the external missiles for the merge. With 6 AAM and bombs you are forfeiting fuel in the viper. The Hornet can then bring 8 AAM + TPOD + bombs doing that. Or 7 AAM + ATFLIR + Fuel + Bombs. Of course we are talking about minmaxing. I usually fly with two bags in the Hornet because I like to fly with realistic loadouts.
  4. I'd fly an A-10C for that, thank you sir. You could also say that with the Viper you don't have air to air staying power, since the Hornet can have 10 x Fox3 + 2 x Fox 2 while the Viper can only fly with 6 AAM of any kind. Will any hornet ever fly in combat with 10 amraam? Don't think so.
  5. Since you talk about air mk82 I guess your experience is bound to the Hornet or the Hog. In those planes dropping retarded bombs work perfectly. The problem is with the harrier, that no matter how do you drop your bombs (and I've dropped them at less than 200 feet) you always hit long. And the rockeyes dropped at the same altitude, fuse and speed with a hornet you always bullseye the target while the harrier misses short. That's my point.
  6. Hi! I'm writing here just to ask if anyone else is having the same problem with the harrier lately. If you do a low altitude level AUTO mode bombing run with Mk82 using either DMT or TGP, it is reasonable accurate. And if you ripple the bombs almost always the first one hits the TGT point while the rest drop in a ripple line. All nice and fancy. The problem comes when you try to do the same with the Snakeeyes. I've tried several combos of altitude and speed and the snakeyes are always hit further than the TGT point either with the TGP or the DMT. It is as if the bomb aerodynamic profile is different from the one stored on the avionics and the bomb computer gives you a wrong auto drop cue. Now with the rockeye is totally opposite, they always drop short. I set the VT and the drop altitude of over 3000 ft AGL and the bomblets always hit short of the auto cue. In both snakeeyes and rockeyes the precision increases a bit if you make a dive attack but they always hit long or short depending on the type of bomb. Am I doing something wrong or it is a known bug?
  7. Are you aware that once you lock something there is a dot in the Radar that shows the contact location? It is a bit weird because you switch from a top down view to a frontal view like in a Maverick cam, but it is good to use to find the bogey visually. Lock for a few seconds, locate visualy, unlock (or even turn off radar)
  8. Both are equally complex. Just ask yourself what do you want to fly, Air Force with Air force ordenance or Navy with Navy ordenance. Also the hornet is one year more advanced in functionalities.
  9. Stopping a tank with HE ammo is possible just blowing up the tracks or the driving wheel. You don't need AP ammo for that. You have to consider that "killing a tank" is not always a catastrophic kill (that is, blowing up the tank) Most of the time you disable the tracks, sights, force the crew to run in panic... Also a tank is not always a MBT. I really doubt a Hornet gun can do much against a modern MBT aside from blowing up some ERA panels. IFV and APC on the other hand...
  10. There are crops over some parts of Iran, but come on, it is a part of Earth well known for being a desert...
  11. Could we have mission editor radio presets for the A10C as we have now with most of the modules? You know, it would be nice to set all the 3 radio channels so people won't have to change all of them everytime they join a mission or server. Thanks!
  12. Then the SAPHEI is magic because everyone else but the viper pilot could see the tracers :joystick:
  13. They paid tribute to the P51 because it was the plane that same unit the demo team is included flew in WW2.
  14. I expect the skin in the user files anytime soon.
  15. A workaround or a placeholder I can understand. But the LAU 88 is not a workaround or a placeholder. It is a straightforward feature.
  16. Well, then I give up I guess. Give them Foxtrot Mavs as well, who cares they are Navy only right?
  17. To be honest I'm baffled about this decision. ED is a highly detailed study simulation. If the F16C block 50 doesn't have the LAU-88 available on its certified inventory, then it shouldn't come equipped with it. They removed the JSOW from the available weapons because the Viper we are getting doesn't have them certified and I agree with that, but then why would you include a launcher that couldn't be certified due to damage to the airframe? We are not talking about the LAU 88 on the A10C which can damage the anti corrosive pain on the inner pod after launching (which is easily repaired anyway), we are talking about flight surface delamination and potentially catastrophic failure! But anyway, I've seen people loading their A10C with 12xGBU 12 and 6xMavs anyway even if they can't climb or run faster than 200 kts so I guess people will overload the Viper as well.
  18. I noticed not long ago that you can adjust the actual height of the helmet sight in the Kamov 50 so you can place the cross higher in the screen (and more confortable to aim) and I'd like to do the same in the Hornet if possible. Is there a way to modify this? will be in the future? Thanks!
  19. That is why you crank the plane when you fire a Fox1. That means you turn away from the target at about 45 - 50 º to keep the plane in the radar cone but not going straight forward. Watch out for red Fox 1 though, they have longer reach and if he does the same cranking and does it right, he will hit you before you can hit him, forcing you to go defensive and breaking lock. That being said, with the AMRAAM you should also stay on target at least till the missile goes pitbull (activates its own radar) so the difference is not that big.
  20. First things first. After we get the revamped Ka50 and A10C I guess they will take a look at other older modules, like the F5 or the Mi8. At least they fixed the strobe light issue with all old modules...
  21. If this campaign is just half as good as the Bastards one, it is instabuy. Since I expect it to be as good or even better, well, you have a first day buyer here.
  22. It takes two 2000 lbs LGB and 2 Foxtrot Mavs to sink a Neustrashimy. I didn't expect to sink it with a single Exocet to be honest. If you want a mission kill or something like that with a single hit, I guess you need to fiddle with triggers or scripts.
  23. Thank you! Very informative.
  24. I fly MP servers where you need to be low and fast, go in and go out and the Hog can hold 270 knots easy with 4 mavs and 4 JDAM + half fuel. Do you want more performance? drop the TER and go with 2 G MAVs and 4 JDAMs (or LGB up to you)
  25. Easy: Su 25A Normal: Mig 21 Hard: Mig 29/hornet
