  1. The real question is how many variants do we need of a given unit? That would need to be dictated by whatever the minimal number to cover the service period and major weapons changes For example let's take a look at the B-5 . Only 3 B-52 variants saw combat the D, G, and H. I have the H in a modern configuration which will only be correct for scenarios before 1992 when they removed the tail gun. I believe when the H had the gun the only noticeable difference between the G and H were the G had .50 calibers while the H had a vulcan. The D had a different vertical stabilizer. I think if we went by the "good enough standard" So at a bare minimum the only additional Buff we would need is the G as we would get the tailgun which be necessary for a period correct cold war B-52.
  2. A Su-25 module would be awesome. Then the dream scenario would be a two-fer pack with the A and T
  3. I've got a little more personal connection. Prior going to medical school my dad was an EWO and had time on the Thud and EB-66. He trained on the Thud but deployed on a EB-66 I want the Thud to live again. Thud.
  4. What were the F-5s in question like when the Swiss bought them in the first place?
  5. good questions
  6. Rgith now getting them would be nice
  7. From my understanding all the F-35 variants are basically the same as far as the interface is concerned. The biggest issue for us would be the flight model.
  8. I wish they had tossed in a second F-5 variant with the more advanced weapons I think I'm not the only one who wants whatever gets us the most toys that would be easy to convert to the C and B.
  9. The J-10 is way more plausible than the J-20, but if there is anything to learn from the F-35 modules that is don't assume there isn't enough open-source data until you look. The J-10 would be awesome
  10. Anything Korean war and Red For East front.
  11. Thanks. I hope you can find enough open-source data for an official J-20 module that would be so awesome to accompany the F-35. Heck even an AI J-20 would be awesome

I figure the guide as to what should get built are here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine_Sea_order_of_battle and here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Allied_warships_in_the_Normandy_landings My top choice for a heavy cruiser class would be the Baltimore-class Light due to being an Okie the Clevlands are on my list due to Oklahoma City Atlanta would be interesting since they were designed for the AA mission. Brooklyn- the last one in service was the one sunk by the Royal Navy in the Fauklandwar General Belgrano if I remember correctly I believe You are right about the Essex If we had to go with only one American fast battleship-class I would go with the Iowas. All of them were activated at least once in the Cold War. As for Japanese Battleships you would need the Yamatos and the Kongos
  13. If you got the data then go for it
  14. I'm happy we're getting Germany. So far except for the JF-17 right now every module we have will work with a German map.
  15. thanks
  16. The Thud would also be great over Germany. SOmeone needs to reach out to them
  17. The DCS Naval enviroment is lacking. I don't care what adjective is in front of the words "Naval Units" we need them
  18. So we ain't getting the Tejas then. What we can get will all depend on what we can get open source information for. If there is any take away from the F-35 it is that we should assume that ED and the other developers want to make that module we want to buy as much as we want to buy it.
  19. They have been doing this since the 1990s so I trust Wag's and the other folks at ED to have an idea of what can and can't be done. Same. Then some of us old timers will be buying it because
  20. I won't be waiting that long unless you mean the standard "2 weeks"
  21. This literal grey beard who got the Original Flanker back in the 1990s, is stoked about the F-35. I don't know how long it will take to get the F-35 but I do think it will add to DCS. This is why I hope to see more mods and official modern assets- then again I just want more assets in general. I'm feeling like a kid What determines what we get are a mixture of what ED thinks will sell, what they think they can get enough open source data to do it legally. I expect the DCS F-35 to be the most realistic F-35 the public can get their hands on. The real question is when will early orders get started. Dittos I hope the F-35 gets some more DCS pilots.
  22. Knowing the F-117's history I would find it almost funny if they were working on both
  23. I don't know what India's laws are like, but for ED to do the Su-35 they would still need to clear Russian laws. However that doesn't completely rule out anyone else. If the information is available we might have let's say HeatBlur putting out a Su-30. I don't know if the open source information is available and I don't think it ED could sell it in Russia but it might be possible. Was that actually due to security and not tactics? Either way I was thinking India had some strict rules as well which is why I think our best hope would be a Western developer provided there is enough open source material available. As I said earlier the module might not be available in Russia or India but that's how I see it being possible I could be wrong
