After spending 5 hours with it this morning and finishing worse off than I started im pretty sick of the whole thing! Ive been holding off an upgrade for a while so maybe its time! The thing that gets me is why has the onboard sound suddenly stopped outputing to the left speaker?! The speakers and headset work fine on a laptop. Pure conicidence???

So i've spent the last 5 hours tinkering... 1) Booted in safe mode with network - no better. 2) Booted in safe mode - no better 3) Took computer apart, cleaned out all the dust, cleaned contacts, reseated ram, checked for odd lookiing capacitors etc - Didnt find anything unusual (not that I really know what im looking for!) - It didnt boot. At all! Turns out I hadnt reseated the ram properly after checking the reseating - reseated - Boots but no better. To add insult to injury my Soundblaster Z stopped working properly after windows update. Took it out since the computer is in pieces. Used onboard sound - works wonderfully...until the next time I restartet. Now I only get sound from one speaker/headphone. Uninstalled drivers, reinstalled. No help. Blew out/cleaned connectors - no help. Sigh. I hate computers.

Thanks all, As far as I can tell my BIOS and drivers are up to date. It seems you are mostly suggesting its a capacitor issue with either PSU or Mobo? Unfortunately I dont have a spare of either. Any way to differentiate?

Really, not worth it I guess if its only for DCS. I imagine an optane 900 is even less worth it for DCS alone?

Hi, My PC when cold booted often requires a number of restarts before it will load windows. It is particularly bad the first time I turn it on after a day or so away. What happens normally is I get the Asus splash screen followed by windows trying to load. My USB devices light up (keyboard and throttle) and then it'll turn off and try again. It can do this a few times before windows finally loads. Alternately it will attempt to 'diagnose the problem' as windows loads up or even try to repair the disk drive (no problems found). Specs: i7-2600k@4.6ghz, Asus z77, 16gb ram, 980ti. Once loaded up its completely stable in gaming and prime95 with temps 40-65C under load. Any ideas if its the PSU/Mobo issue?

I love the harrier. For an attack aircraft its has reasonable dogfight abilities but it is not a dogfighter. Fighting the AI is one thing and a seasoned PVPer another.

I always found the Mig to have better STR on the deck.
