  1. Hell yeah. I left some blood and sweat in some of those 440th/2d birds at Pope.
  2. ^ I've been saying we need the MPRS pods on the 135. Now with a flyable probe jet, and the upcoming F-14 and F-18, it's almost mandatory. For gee whiz; the normal part is a nozzle, the basket is called a drogue, and the MPRS pods have a paradrouge.
  3. What LUA do we edit to make it the correct size?
  4. I can't go back to not using FFB, especially with the DCS warbirds. I have a Frankenstein FFB stick. It's a MSFFB2 with the resistor mod, a ~10 cm extension, and a Saitek X52 handle. It ain't pretty, but it does the trick.
  5. I tried trinus today but didn't have any luck. I open the app and the connection to PC establishes, but as soon as I put the phone into the gear the oculus home screen launches. I don't have the same problem with intugame. I started trying to tweak the stereo.lua file to see if I can get side by side looking ok with intugame.
  6. Are you getting it to work in stereo? I've tried all the combinations of stereo on/off in DCS world and in intugame and I can only get it to look OK in 2d. It would make sense to put DCS in stereo, and enable the intugame setting for native in-game side by side, but it's all out of whack for me. Like the images don't line up anywhere close to how they should be. Also, my monitor is 1080, so that's the highest resolution I can pick in DCS. Do you know a way to stream QHD to the gear?
  7. With GTAV and DCS occupying the majority of my 256GB SSD, I had to move FSX to a HDD. Oh well, I haven't played it in forever.
  8. We need the .torrent file so we can download this in our preferred client. :/
  9. My hat is off to the devs on how good DCSW looks! 1.5 has been out for a few weeks now and even still, every day I fly I'm impressed by the graphics and performance EDGE brought us. I had been looking forward to it for the last few years, and it certainly hasn't been a disappointment. I really enjoy flying in the dawn and dusk hours. The lighting and shadowing is amazing and the world feels so real and alive, I just can't get enough of it. I'm really looking forward to Nevada, and all the other upcoming content. Keep it up, guys!

  10. Aw, come on guys, OP is obviously joking. I mean, A-10 Cuba is our reference physics modeling? If that was true I'd start filling out bug reports for GTA based on behaviour from Super Mario.
  11. I think it's a good sign of how well DCS is running when the biggest thing people have to complain about is some stupid tacked on default signature. I guess I automatically filter out irrelevant text, because I don't even notice it.
  12. If you click cancel on the update you have the option to download via the old method.
  13. I don't think it's the bit torrent method in particular, it's just that there's something wrong with the installer's settings. If the ED servers are also seeders, then the torrent should always be at least as fast as the old installer.
  14. Since the effects are going to be replaced, the issues with smoke should be ignored, right? I came here to see if anyone else was having huge FPS hits with the smoke. I go from a solid 60fps to as low as 25 as soon as I blow up a few units. It's a real drag in all the ground attack missions, especially when getting down and dirty with the huey.
  15. I also had this MSFFB2 bug. Changing the invert setting using notepad++ worked for me on the Huey, but the shark didn't have the option in the config file. I tried copying the "FFDiffs" section from the huey to the KA-50's file, but it didn't work. In the end, I deleted the shark's FFB2 joystick profile and let DCS rebuild it. After that it worked ok. I did originally load the profile from my DCS 1.x folder, that might have had something to do with it...
  16. F-35 looses dogfight against Red Baron http://duffelblog.com/ZTw9m This is exactly how it'd go down.
  17. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the brand name boards. I have an Asus Z87-A. With a $90-100 price tag it's at low end of the product tier. It's been trouble free and I didn't have any problem pushing a moderately high OC with it.
  18. There is if you are willing to DIY... http://meintourenbuch.net/simpit/g-seat
  19. lol @ pepin Maybe you're this MiG-29 driver? :D
  20. I've never tried the rift (any version), but I've been playing around with a durovis "open dive". It's kind of like google cardboard and uses your phone as the display. I messed around streaming DCS to my phone with shadowplay and limelight, starting off with my note 2, which was 720p. You could definitely see the pixels, and it had the screen door effect. Then I was borrowing my wife's S4, which is 1080p. It was a pretty good improvement, but not quite there. Now I have an S6 and at 1440p, you can pick out the pixels, but they don't detract from the experience too much. I'd compare it to playing in 720p on a normal display. Certainly not the best, but quite playable, IMHO.
  21. Um.... what am I looking at again? I don't see anything unusual.
  22. I wish this feature was a native part of the huey module... observing the EGT limits are a pretty damn important part of handling an aircraft. Here's an CFM56-2B turbine that had it's EGT limits, um, exceeded... And like just about every overtemped turbine I've ever seen, the engine would still run, it just wouldn't produce a whole lot of power.
  23. I've had this happening for a long time too, and it's happened to me on a several different graphics cards
  24. I don't know, it kind of looks like one of the suunto watches to me. I do know that his pencil is a skillcraft 1.1mm, it's my favorite because I write heavy and the thick lead is very robust. :D
