Would that be like the whining you are doing right now with this very post? The fact of the matter is that when first released the Huey was FAR too prone to VRS (And this is not my opinion, but based on real world Huey pilots that have commented on this very forum..) Belsimtek revised the flight model in response to actual real life pilot feedback, not whining.. If you enjoy fighting VRS at every point in a flight please be sure to try the MI-8 as it still is too prone to VRS (In my opinion) and if you can land that thing without scaring yourself silly then you ARE the man...

Well no sh%t... You don't load external stores on a stealth plane if stealth is one of the current mission requirements... This is a discussion about stealth properties, not ridiculous scenarios that won't happen...
-
Maybe because you are a simmer? :megalol:
-
Yep, pretty much!

You say you disconnected them but did you delete the connections in the device manager? Simply disconnecting them does not solve the issue. You must disconnect them, delete all of the USB connections in your device manager and then start connecting them ONE AT A TIME starting with the Saitek stick Hotas first.. Then all the rest must be connected and tested one at a time until you have everything up and running.. The order is very specific and required or it will not help... And Decibel glad to hear you figured out your issue.. Based on what you said, my guess would be that you didn't load the USB 3 drivers specific for your controller and since this technology is still fairly new, there isn't a 100% functional driver built into the OS install so when you installed it, it doesn't work as needed.. Try to see if there is an updated driver for your USB 3.0 ... (Even if you don't have this issue anymore, you may still continue to have USB 3.0 issues until you download the latest and greatest..)

Alright I will give you that one.. SOME KIND of manual should be provided during BETA... Otherwise you can't properly test anything.. :joystick:
-
Ever work on a project like this? So you make a change.. (And then take time to update the manual.. Then upload the manual) Then you make a change.. (And then update the manual.. And then upload the manual..) Then you make a change...... Nope sorry, it makes zero sense to constantly update a document when the entire project is still in limbo.. By the time you are done you will have spent an inordinate amount of time updating documentation that isn't useful due to your own changes.. Not to mention the fact that then you have multiple versions of the same manual and everybody would squawk about that too.. That is why the manual is the LAST thing completed and why it can't be completed during the Beta process..
-
LOL Riiiiiight.. LOL
-
So you think that they should have a completed manual for a BETA module? How exactly do you complete a manual for a piece of software that is not completed?
-
Fair enough.. Then let's do this then. The OP (And anyone else that is having this issue may read both of our suggestions and they can decide which route to take and if they would be so kind as to come back and tell everyone how it goes, THEN we can discuss further the merits of both opinions..) It is very possible that my suggestion will not work, but I figure it is easier than the full re-image process.. It may not work and your suggestion may very well be the answer... (Though I hope not for their sakes) We shalls see how it goes..
-
And you sir are not the OP are you? So glad to hear your complete re-install worked for you, but still don't recommend that you do that until a few other options are tried first.. You are welcome to re-image your machine on whim, I just don't recommend it.. (And I am not going to bore everyone with my certs... Suffice it to say I have paper hanging on my walls as well) Thanks!
-
I suppose that depends on who the thousand people that have tried and whether they know anything about computers or not, but this is what I do for a living so maybe you might want to at least give my suggestion a try? (It won't take a month and I PROMISE you it is quicker than a reinstall) IRQ conflicts can be tough to troubleshoot with USB, but they are not impossible as long as you are patient and methodical.. You can usually figure out which 2 components are causing the issue as long as you are careful and methodical about it.. (Yes I am repeating that for a reason. It is important) Besides, if it turns out to be a driver issue, your solution won't fix it either. AND you will have wasted all that time re-installing the OS.. Also, if possible remove all external hubs as they can cause these issues as well. (And if you MUST use one make certain it is powered externally as low power will cause all KINDS of issues)
-
That is the shotgun to swat a fly approach and should be last resort.. I would recommend unplugging all USB devices and go in and delete them in device manager.. Then once they are all gone, start re-plugging them in one at a time. (I would start with the Saitek first) Plug each one in and configure each one until they are all working properly.. I would also check to make CERTAIN that you have the latest drivers for all of them as well..

A reminder of the challenges

This moron should have his license revoked and thrown in jail.. PERIOD It would have been stupid enough doing that in a field somewhere, but that close to other planes / buildings is absolutely asinine.. -
What's the best SSD to get for DCS?
outlawal2 replied to Dudester22's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
And I have 2 separate drives so that when I re-image my machine as I do about once every 6 months or so, I can leave all of my games installed to the second drive.. That way no reinstalling of huge games such as DCS.. Also makes it nice when upgrading my machine... The games remain untouched.. -
And many others have bad experiences (myself included) trying to utilize SLI.. For those that have good results, good for you and CHEERS! For the rest of us with poor results, there is a REASON ED doesn't support SLI yet...
-
Just an FYI that I would be interested in purchasing campaigns as long as they are well written, story driven and worth paying for.. I would expect cut scenes, possible forks in the story etc... (And DEAR GOD YES I would pay for a dynamic campaign...)
-
Actually the DCS engine is more than up to the task otherwise we wouldn't have the excellent Shark, Huey and MI-8 helicopters.. It was MS Flight Simulator that did not have adequate fidelity to pull off a decent Harrier.. Not sure why Razbam has decided to stall this module but DCS fidelity is NOT the reason..
-
My take on it has always been if I am going to buy a module eventually, then I always buy the Beta so I can enjoy it sooner and for a longer time... (and this also supports the devs as well by getting cash in their hands sooner) For the record, I have not been disappointed with any of the betas and yes they all have had some issues, but most of them have been small items that I was OK to live with... As stated I will buy beta for any of the modules I intend to purchase anyway, and if in the future one of them is broken to the point that I don't want to mess with it.. I won't.. I would just stop using it until the issue that was causing me pain is fixed.. In my mind I really can't lose either way and so far I have enjoyed all of them especially the helicopters and the HAWK.. (Sabre kicks ass as well)
-
No one knows what the system specs will be as it has not been finalized yet.. As for what it is, read the first posting at the beginning of this very thread for an explanation
-
I want a HAWK to be given to MRMERTZ.. (If I am selected, please give the module to MRMERTZ as a XMAS gift..) Thanks!
-
Yeah probably the case since F-35 will be in use well into 2050... I still have doubts though about using drones for everything.. Sooner or later someone will figure out how to jam them, scramble them whatever, and then you are dead in the water.. I would rather like to see at least a FEW models remain manned just in case.. I feel the entire US military arsenal has tunnel vision... So everything is connected and works awesome and is accurate to 1 meter, blah blah blah... Yep.. Right up until someone sets off a nuke in the atmosphere and takes out all of the GPS satellites... Then NOTHING the US military has works anymore... NOTHING. Back to rifles and pistols... ..And throwing effing ROCKS. REALLY think they are putting all their eggs in a vulnerable basket..
-
Kinda reminds me of Saddam Hussein's habit of placing signs outside military installations stating "Baby Milk Factory" Countries provide all kinds of dis-information to discredit others... Just because someone SAYS something doesn't make it a true statement..
-
Without credible sources my first inclination is to cry BS.. Especially the part about issuing resignations. Give me a break.. (Now the US is not infallible so don't get me wrong, but I HIGHLY doubt this scenario and the fact that no one that is anyone has published it kind of speaks volumes to me as this would be HUGE news..)
