DCS Super Hercules mod by Anubis
ST0RM replied to Eight Ball's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Several C-130 (AFSOC and USMC) tests were done. Last I heard and saw, they couldnt get the drogue to stabilize. It would oscillate in circles and make AAR nearly impossible. As for this mod, I'm loving it. We flew it on our JTF/CSG-1 mission last night and took several airfields in Syria. Using coordination with our SEAD, Strike and CAP assets, the Herk fills a huge gap in the sim. Thanks to Anubis and anyone else who've put their time into this. Its very appreciated. We look forward to its future. -
Looks like the ADVCAP test scheme from the late 80s

Enjoyed this video, tremendously. Thanks for putting it together. Maybe one day we'll get a sim with full Vietnam/Cold War era aircraft and theater.

"Priority", laughable. It keeps being pushed behind everything new. -
Big FPS drops and stuttering scince a few patches :(
ST0RM replied to Ravacoon's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Trying to play in the MP environment with your system specs, is going to be your issue. But even us with 32Gb RAM and mid-to-high end machines are seeing FPS drops too. -
Coming up on 4 years on the A-29 and 5 on the whole Tucano announcement, since you initially started with the basic T-27 Tucano, not the Super. Are we feasibly looking at another 4-5 years of development? I'm not being sarcastic, just looking for an honest answer.

The F-5 specific WEAPONS.LUA needs editing to enable the particular pylon to recognize the new weapon class. But it's locked behind ED's encryption.

I'm with Coxy. Syria continues to get worse, instead of better. On the ground, about 25FPS. Doable. But if I look at F2 or F10 map, performance tanks and its in single digits. So something is bad. But as usual, ED and Ugra is mum on it.

From CNATRA P-816 "Break. When departing holding, the flight will descend outside of point 3 to 800 feet and proceed to the initial 3NM astern of the ship. The flight will continue inbound and fly just outboard the starboard side of the ship at 800 feet, paralleling BRC. Break altitude is 800 feet, and all breaks will be level. The break interval is determined by the last aircraft in the landing pattern. A 15-20 second break interval will correspond to a 40- 60 second landing interval. No breaks will be performed more than 4 NM ahead of the ship. If you are unable to break before 4 NM, you will have to depart and reenter the pattern. To accomplish this, maintain 800 feet until 5 NM, then climb to 1,200 feet and execute a left-hand arc back to the initial. Tower must be notified of your intentions."

A while back, some Brazilian modders showed off a private mod with the AAR probe. Was it ever released publicly? I ask, in hopes to inquire about a talented 3D artist building a camera nose as well, to place on the existing F-5 model to give us a RF-5. Purely visual, but something to have fun in missions with.

Ebay is your best bet. Or Gov surplus auctions.

Try Etsy They had some blueprint art of various aircraft

Going to be honest here. I didnt want to scroll through 19 pages of stuff to find one answer. So... Can just the NVG portion be extracted from this mod? I hate the current version that covers the entire FOV. I've flown on NVGs and want to look under them at gauges, as this mod allows. But I dont need the other stuff. Thanks

The Hornet also has the Mav-Fs. So maybe something we'll end up having to do.
-
Just happened across this thread. I havent flown the Viper in a long while, so this update slipped by me. Boresighting the Mavs to the TGP is a thing now? And a realistic feature? So why do we not have to do it in the Hornet? Or is that something coming? Thanks

Looking for actual/recommened aerial refueling speeds.
ST0RM replied to Mac D's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
Standard speed is set by the ATP-56B chart. Speed does differ between receiver and further based on altitude and the ability of the receiver to meet the standard speed. IE carrying armament creates lots of drag. For an A-10, the ATP specifies 220kts, however in real world ops, this was closer to 200-195kts The AV-8B, F/A-18 and F-14 use the BDA or MPRS pods. We kept it at 275-270kts due to limits with the soft MPRS drogues. BDA was solid steel but still kept at 275kts. Hope that helps. -
You're getting feedback, with proof its incorrect as is and we're right, its incorrect. And then using a over exposed time-lapse photograph as your proof to meet your idea of correct? If you truly do value the customer base, maybe listening more and not arbitrarily dismissing what we're saying, will help. As I see it, ED simply doesnt want to fix it. It was once, but then immediately went back to the over-done lights. And as was pointed out, the Viper doesnt share them. It really makes us wonder. Thanks...

With Belsimtek being absorbed into ED, I'd not count on anything like what that studio produced, anytime soon. A new UH-1 doesnt seem to be on anyone's to-do list. Instead, as we're reading up in the Mi-8 forum, these older modules are very low on the priority.

I'm not running it on high. Med settings in VR. Using the Refuel/Rearm screen, stutter. Using the F10 Map, stutter and freezing Using F2 view, stutter and freezing Y'all can say what you want, but I shouldnt have to dull down everything to low, to make something run decently based upon specs set by the developer. I'm above those specs, btw. Ugra did the same thing with Normandy. Beautiful map, but very hard on systems at release. And it took a couple of years until things got the attention it should have.
-
Beautiful map, but poorly optimized, even on high end machines. Give it another year and see if Ugra will make it right. Hopefully not in the 2 years they took to fix Normandy.
-
I agree with the OP. A WWII trainer would be a great add-on that would add to the immersion. The problem lies in that the range of flyers who would use it, is limited. Most only want to immediately go and shoot things. Learning the basics is secondary. The TF-51 does a poor job as a trainer.

The vertical tails are different as well.
-
You cant carry and launch anymore than the 2, currently allowed. You'd need access to the Weapons Lua for the F-5, to unlock the pylons and make them A2A missile capable. But this file is locked by ED. You can modify the F-5E lua to carry 2 extra missiles on the pylons, but it'll be for show only.

fixed RWR not showing locked radars in Search mode
ST0RM replied to Haukka81's topic in Bugs and Problems
Considering the head/tailwind issue has been a few years, the RWR will probably be the same. Or with the DLC: F-5E II
