I would go for brake binding. I tried this mission and I've not flown the Spit for a very long time, but there was no problem with the ground surface and you get a small headwind (Rnwy 05), which will make it easier. Landing, taxi and T/O was normal. Check there is no pressure on the brake gauge, which will mean a Settings thing. Post a track, if you're still having problems. .. -

No 12 bomb bay long range tank, is not fitted in our Mossie and therefore is always empty. No 10 is the Centre tank. No 2 Stub tank, are Inner tanks, (gauges on left). No 4 Outer tanks (gauges on right). It's an arrangement that even confused pilots. ..

Take off, (16 2723') and Landing, (20 2244') at Shorts Rochester aircraft factory. Light condition. 30% fuel, unarmed, 17494 lb. Default trim settings. There's an air raid in progress, 10 Ju 88 here, plus 4 88's at Eastchurch. 8 Spifires are scrambled from Eastchurch and Detling. No time to hang around. ..

This is confirmed by reading WW2 pilot anecdotes. Lead with the left throttle initially until the rudder becomes effective. There is little swing, if the engines are synchronized. Difficult to achieve with one throttle. If you try to use brakes, things can get worse. They are too strong, (increased in a recent update) and the lever is too fast, causing over correction. Watching airshow Mossies, they wind up against the brakes and then gun it and that is what I do and it works. (More than one way to skin a cat}. ..

Sunday morning circuit practice. T/O on 16, 2723'. Default trim settings. Landing at Rochester 20, 2244', with the Mosquito. A bumpy undulating surface, makes this a difficult landing, without damaging the tailwheel. Fuel 30%. ..

I've knocked up a quick aircraft factory, to give the Ju 88s something to chuck bombs at and occasionally they score a hit. I placed AAA sites in their correct geographical locations for 1940 and they slaughtered the 16 88s attacking, so that didn't work. They are simply too good. This factory airfield and the Sunderland flying boat factory nearby, as well as Chatham Dockyard were major targets in the early 40s, so it makes a good target to attack and defend. ..

It's already in place and usable, but a little bit bumpy and rather bare. It needs some love and attention. Here's the Mossie on runway 160. Home to Short Bros. it was initially used to build Short Stirling heavy bombers, untill Do 17 bombers paid a visit and production was moved to Belfast. It remained as a RAF training field. Bomb damage. Rochester in 1936. When Channel Map first came out, this ground was un-usable due to high grass friction, but now it seems OK, so it would be a pity to waste it. There are 4 AAA batteries, within 2 miles of the field, defending against German air attack. Shorts factory. 50 kg. Bomb stick from Dornia Do17 raid, passes across recreation ground heading for large grey hangar (between red dots)). The distinct structure, top right, is Fort Horstead, defending against French 19th century land attack. It housed 1 3.7 in AA gun plus Bofors 40mm. in 1940. ..

Try fuel at 25%, there is more rudder authority at lower speeds with less weight. I find no difference after taxi, provided aircraft is straight, (quite difficult to achieve). Also smoke bug is more likely. Sunday morning circuit practice at RAF Eastchurch, 3600', nil wind, Channel Map. Mosquitos used airfields of 3300' during WWII, so I'm practicing here, using various loading weights. This vid shows a lightweight 25% fuel with default trim settings complete circuit, followed by a full weight, (100% fuel plus 4 x 500 lb bombs. ..

There is no neutral button. That would be unrealistic. (The OP has asked for one. I wish him well). Lever down after moving lock. Correct. At 15 deg. Lever up to neutral position which will lock. Correct. Or. Lever down after moving lock. When it reaches Full Flap (45 deg), it will automatically return to Neutral and lock. Correct. Flaps can be moved up without unlocking. Correct. It's about as perfect as a sim could get. ..

This is for X-52, your stick might be different. In the axis tune, tick, INVERT and SLIDER. SATURATION Y, 37. This gives me a max 40 lb pressure, on the brakes, and the mosquito won't nose over, which is correct for the type. .. -
The "up" button, (or rocker in my case) does move the lever "up" to neutral, from down to stop at 15 deg. This is correct. .. Unless you have an X 52, where 3 rockers provide all the buttons required for correct operation, for this and other similar sims. ..

After the last update, which dramatically increased the braking power, I changed from button control to Slider, then decreased the air pressure to 40 psi from 80 psi in the axis menu. Despite the unnatural speed of the brake lever, I now have a perfectly usable braking system, the same as it was before. .. -

@Quadg Good advice there. I don't do missions and I'm crap at helicopters, but I did this one and loved every minute of it. I made separate missions in the mountains to get the hang of the Huey, especially high speed landings and descents and after many failed nerve racking attempts at the Elbrus, I finally made it. Very satisfying indeed! I did it several times afterwards with the Huey and finally with the Mi 8. You've just got to put the effort in. ..

You don't just dump 4, you dump a load of them amongst maybe a thousand contact bombs, dropped on a city or factory. When hidden in rubble they could be going off for days at different intervals, disrupting rebuild of machinery etc. The timer pistol can't be removed after arming. If you found one, the poor sod who had to render it, wouldn't know if it was going to go off in 1 day or 1 minute. Cluster bombs were also used in WW II. ..

A video to go with the words. Video for my reference. Version 27714727. High Halden, 4200', 111', Nil wind. 100 % fuel. 4 x 500 lb bombs. 22262 lb. (262 lb overload). Flap 15%, Trim nose down 2.0, Aileron 1 tick right, Rudder, 0.3 to 0.5 right. 3000 rpm. Throttle to 4 lb boost against brakes, release and increase to max 18 lb boost. Lift off @ 120 mph. This update added 2000 lb to the take off weight with the same store load, making this runway a bit tight. Braking has been increased to the point that the wheels lock, making a nose over likely and differential braking difficult to use with a button. I have changed to a slider and reduced air pressure from 80-100 psi, to 40 psi in the axis tuner. Pitch stability feels good and pitch trimmer now good.. ..
