  1. By meta cache file, I take you mean metacahe files for terrain of each map you have in dcs world folder. If it is this file, is it still necessary to delete those files? I haven't been doing that because I picked up the impression that it wasn't necessary to delete them but to delete the fxo and metacahe in save game folder only. I just want to be sure so as make the most of this vr shader mod. Thanks.
  2. I am afraid the Ministick would not work in this case. Literally unbindable to view keys. The Ministick is for axis control only as far as I am aware of in dcs.
  3. Do you by joystick mean the ministick in front of the throttle? The Ministick is axis programmable only so you may not be able to map it to change views.
  4. Perhaps so. Wondering why F-15 FM? I would think Truegrit would have some basic fm for eurofighter to test it. In any case, I am just glad to see some progress going on there.
  5. Some Form of Flyable DCS Eurofighter? Looks like there is some form of a flyable Eurofighter if I heard right in this interview Time stamp 1:52:00. Thrilling revelation if that is true. That would be real progress.
  6. Goodness! Just looking at those development screen shot for A-10C II. The Scorpion Helmet Mounted Cueing System coming to the A-10C II is looking really high-tech. The Targeting Pod projection window would be first of its kind in dcs. Would the HMCS for Hornet and Viper have similar feature like the targeting pod projection WINDOW when the ground attack mode gets implemented?
  7. +1 Not a seasoned dogfighter but I feel more confident inside a Viper cockpit when doing BFM.
  8. Thanks Holbeach. I went with disk-cloning the old 500g to the new 1tb. Everything working seamlessly with limited test so far. Noticing some good performance issue in vr after the upgrades.
  9. True. Those defence systems just makes the harm almost useless in dcs. If you do have a group of like 3 SEAD aircrafts to overwhelm the defence system, mission is as good as never taking off for the mission for a single SEAD flight.
  10. Hello, I am in a similar crossroad here. My 16g ram and 1tb crucial m.2 nvme storage just arrived today. Upgrading ram from 16g to 32g with the newly arrived ram. I already have a 500g SSD drive that has windows, other steam games and dcs world installed. Have like 136g remaining and I think this is approaching ultimately working limit for the ssd considering my plans to get the Syria map. I am considering copying only dcs world to the new 1tb M.2 drive. Also possibly install the upcoming civil flight simulator from Microsoft in August here too. Would there be any drawback having windows in the SSD drive and dcs world in the new m. 2 nvme drive?
  11. LOTATC application serves this purpose to an extent. I watch a video of it being used in dcs. Pretty neat.
  12. Okay, in that case it can take a backseat(eye candy). Though I fly only in vr, nothing is seriously is amiss flying the Viper as it is now without the pilot model. Rarely use the pilot model in the Hornet because the rendering obstruct view and access to left & right console instruments.
  13. Absolutely great for user to be given the chance to sharp future development of the Viper. Completion of core avionic features(DED functionalities), flight model turning are paramount for me and of course the HARM delivery systems which are already being worked on. Other air to ground standoff weapons can trickle in later. Further enhancement of the JHMCS capabilities would nice to have too. Cockpit view pilot mode: What is that?
  14. Yes an absolute struggle in vr. The up/down indicator light is a tiny visible but forward and aft is no joy. The new lighting introduced with the 2.5.6 version make the tanker director light worse for me. Director light was way better in 2.5.5. We can only hope for an ED,s fix as there is no mod I know of that helps.
  15. I find night mission pitch dark when gamma is set lower than 2. Good to have gamma setting easy to access and change is instantenous without having to exit the mission.
  16. Puzzling to see the varied experience on the same software especially from the high-end systems where you would not expect stutters/unplayability issues. Just saw a video on how having hardware Accelerated gpu scheduling could help with stuttering issue. I did not see hags in this light when I first had it on( I had my expectations to high in fps boost). This video shields some light and I would be trying it again to see how it would help me in vr.
  17. Thrilling news about the iris-t missile. I am very eager waiting to see any form of release of this module. My eagerness for this module lead me seeking for some kind foretaste. Got the version by indiaFoxEcho Visual Simulations with the Tacpack. Didn't really offer much deeper enjoyment. Cannot wait to get this module in dcs. Godspeed on this module.
  18. I have copied the _download folder and saved somewhere in case something go amiss later.
  19. You would most definitely get significant improvement if you go with SSD.
  20. Does it create any autoupdate_log.text file in your main dcs world folder. In there you could find the case error message. In my case, I could not download two versions subsequent to current openbeta and it was some server issue related to Persian gulf map. Each time download would get to a point and just hang several times. It was a frustrating cycle of starting the 32g download over again to get freeze at some point. Hard to tell what finally did it for me, even open a support ticket on ED website but recommended procedure did not work. Googled some dns flush and network reset procedure, applied them and the next time I downloaded the openbeta, it did not freeze and went through to the end. Big relief. Check the autoupdater log file for a clue if it is similar to my case.
  21. Playing on 2d monitor is quite enjoyable with mid range cards When it comes to vr, DCS engine as it now is a glutton on system resources. I really wish ED would realize their goals at optimizing the game. The 11g and above vram are mostly reserved higher end graphic cards except new releases from amd and nvidia offer something good for mid-range cards.
  22. IR missile is big threat. Eyeballing smoke trails from this missile is difficult to see from all angle. Hard task to fly the aircraft and be eye scanning the environment for an IR missile. I would think the IR missile threat was enough problem to a million dollar aircraft like the Hornet to warrant a missile warning receiver. Did the most recent model than the legacy ever get the mwr?
  23. I am guessing this system is a laptop. Before building my entry level desktop system, my Dell 7757 gaming laptop with core i5 2.5hz, 16g ram and a gtx 1060 6g was driving my Samsung odyssey plus vr headset fine. However after about few months of use, it took a beating as one of the cooling fan is bad now. Heat generated is better managed on a desktop. So it is fair to say a gtx 2060 will do relatively fine on a mixed low/medium graphics settings. I have no experience with the psvr setup though so no help in that area. In additional for immersion purpose, I would say VR. Nothing come close to VR having used Trackir(put away in storage box now). The mileage for using VR varies from person to person considering picture quality in vr but is getting better with newer headset.
  24. So much uncertainty right now. I heard samsung was doing something in vr but not so much word out there. I am sure Oculus would have something cooking too. The time in between next gen or refresh of this hardware is get short now to build a reasonable future proof system. Look at ampere vs rdna2. I would just do few ram, storage and graphic card upgrade and plan for new PC build when the horizon get clearer and settled. The HP reverb G2 looks good and tempting especially for flightsim where picture resolution is important for me. I watched a video that compared the various motion simulation seat in the market and the the guys in DOFreality seems to have the most affordable build. Is the yaw effect much of an input in flight sim? I understand the H2 package with pitch and roll movement only will do for flightsim games. Motion compensation in vr for inside-out tracking , is that a big deal?
  25. Welcome I combined myTWCS throttle with the TM warthog stick and they are doing well. I had a saitek X52 before but had some issues with it. The twcs throttle imho was designed with the real Hornet throttle in mind. Yeah the TWCS would serve very well pending when an upgrade is approved by wifey.
