+1. Wingman is often far from lead in dcs missions. Also having an idea of wingman fuel level can help in managing them. With this, you can give a RTB command if they report low fuel level instead of allowing them to destroy the $80 aircraft in most bingo call cases.

I think something change in a few update back for the Hornet when it comes to carrier trapping. I noticed this float even when you fly the ball and maintain proper glidescope. It seems some kind of uprising wind keeps the aircraft from dropping over the cables even when you cut power to idle at that point. Not that I cannot trap but had to adjust my tactic in anticipation of the float by coming a bit low. It just increases number of my go around cases now.

The F-16 is where seat movement is realistically simulated, the seat would physically move with the switch pressed. Not sure it is the same for the Hornet or warthog.

I agree with you. The rtx 3080 really is the best middle ground for VR like reverb G2. I might just get the rtx3080 and do a change of motherboard, psu and cpu along the line.

Planning on getting the HP G2 sometime next year. Firstly I need a gpu upgrade. I know independent reviews are not out yet but it temptatively looks like the Rtx 3070 would be a good budget gpu to drive the G2 headset.

Correct. The F-15E is unique as the guy in front can do all that is needed so having an AI is just a duplication of work. It is more fun for me to do things myself.

I downloaded the latest 26th of August Openbeta which supposedly is 2.5.6.4046 but I am still getting openbeta 2.5.6.52437 as the version I have installed. I ran repair and each returns with the message that I have the version number 2.5.6.52437 install and claims that is the lastest version. I have no clue what is going on. The only major thing I did on my PC lately was to run a full system virus scan of my system file. Any ideas what I could do? Thanks

Login to dcs and go to module manager where you have all your modules. Click on the delete symbol next to the old F-14 module and get prompt to restart dcs. I think that should clear the error message.

I am getting to know about the portable tacan unit recently. Google search shows it is a tacan unit that can be place on an airfield, Farp or airstrip lacking tacan facility. That is looks very interesting in dcs if what I am reading about it is correct as navigation to those airfield lacking tacan can be provide one during mission creation.

The Hornet is quite cool, quiter and fuller in cockpit. F3 fly-by sound is really nice. On the external side F2, when I zoomed in up close to the front of aircraft there is some distortion in the sound coming out. Sound is richer for me. It still work in progress so more to come.

Yes if not save game folder, the issue that issue would crop up. If in save game, then perhaps the inability to login. I can remember this happening to me but cleared after proper login to recognize the new mod installation.

Perception of forward motion is less noticeable in US made aircraft carrier for me compare to Russian aircraft carrier. Also it seem one only feel the side-to-side rocking of the ship when you are physically standing on the deck in F2 view but once back in the cockpit of the aircraft, that rocking or heaving movement is absent. It would take a real pilot/sailor to judge actual motion on deck.

The horizon for pc hardware to me seems quite uncertain with all the news about next generation of CPUs, and of course the gpus. Projection seems to suggest the market is really going to get much more competitive with better and faster products. I would play the waiting game for like 3-4 months if it really important before taking a dive. I for one just need a next gen gpu to hang in there for my vr gaming and do a system overhaul many months later on. I hate getting the buyer's remorse thing.

You can experiment with restoring your program setting in Nvidia control panel to default. See how this play out and if you must gradually tune up the nvidia setting. By so doing you will be letting application control those resource demanding settings like antiliasing and others.

This is common to my O+ too. This I believe is a loss of tracking issue. Mostimes I recalibrate by going to window mix reality and do a re-centering. In my case I think it maybe due to the fact that my chair position is close to wall on my right hand side. Doing re-centering calibrate while in game is the way I get around it for now. Will be glad to know other solutions too.
