I am guessing this system is a laptop. Before building my entry level desktop system, my Dell 7757 gaming laptop with core i5 2.5hz, 16g ram and a gtx 1060 6g was driving my Samsung odyssey plus vr headset fine. However after about few months of use, it took a beating as one of the cooling fan is bad now. Heat generated is better managed on a desktop. So it is fair to say a gtx 2060 will do relatively fine on a mixed low/medium graphics settings. I have no experience with the psvr setup though so no help in that area. In additional for immersion purpose, I would say VR. Nothing come close to VR having used Trackir(put away in storage box now). The mileage for using VR varies from person to person considering picture quality in vr but is getting better with newer headset.

Which Graphics card (sorry)? PC order spec.
Eaglewings replied to Andrew u.k.'s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So much uncertainty right now. I heard samsung was doing something in vr but not so much word out there. I am sure Oculus would have something cooking too. The time in between next gen or refresh of this hardware is get short now to build a reasonable future proof system. Look at ampere vs rdna2. I would just do few ram, storage and graphic card upgrade and plan for new PC build when the horizon get clearer and settled. The HP reverb G2 looks good and tempting especially for flightsim where picture resolution is important for me. I watched a video that compared the various motion simulation seat in the market and the the guys in DOFreality seems to have the most affordable build. Is the yaw effect much of an input in flight sim? I understand the H2 package with pitch and roll movement only will do for flightsim games. Motion compensation in vr for inside-out tracking , is that a big deal? -
Welcome I combined myTWCS throttle with the TM warthog stick and they are doing well. I had a saitek X52 before but had some issues with it. The twcs throttle imho was designed with the real Hornet throttle in mind. Yeah the TWCS would serve very well pending when an upgrade is approved by wifey.

The way I see things too. A little patience can earn a big fat bone here. -
Ability to change or add map layers to Color Moving Map
Eaglewings replied to Notso's topic in Wish List
+1 This would enhance situation awareness in battle arena. I read of the eurofighter having a pages in the mfcd displaying airport charts with presentation of destination, flight route, flight restrictions areas, departure /approach profiles and holding pattern chart. It called a paperless cockpit, . Just wish Truegrit can feature this in their version of the eurofoghter. Looking forward to seeing the capabilities of DTC implementation. -
You can check post number 1866 just one post above yours, you will see Bignewy addressing this question.

Realteus Good news \ Bad news
Eaglewings replied to HoYa's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is the disturbing part about Realteus. They should have records of clients who paid and ship to those first. Have you reached out to them recently since they are shipping out recent orders. -
Realteus Good news \ Bad news

Great info. I hardly can fly without VR after getting introduced to it early last year. I am pretty sure any of the two jetseat would add to the immersion for me too. Appreciate the heads-up tips. [emoji106] -

Thanks for the feedback. Very useful to my decision making process. Which jeatseat do you have if you do not mind my asking? -
Raven One: upcoming DLC campaign for F/A-18 Hornet
Eaglewings replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Had a good time watching this. I understand the missions has spontaneous triggers built in. You can play same mission and expect different scenarios play out. That is really quite welcome addition. [emoji106] -
Force IPD in game setting = smoothness+clarity!!
Eaglewings replied to StoOopiD's topic in Virtual Reality
Pretty much same for me. Any value less than 68 makes the cockpit scaled unreasonably large. Between 68 and 71 works well in my case. The logic dcs ipd setting uses varies for users. -
Always impressive to see female pilots of jet fighter aircrafts. Nice.

Yeah, I still watch Jane's tutorial videos on youtube.

Basic Flight Training Campaign as alluded to imho by the open post is a whole lot different from just creating your mission with the ME, fly away and blow stuff up. That of the A-10C is a number of levels above. I want to believe the real life training materials had an input in creating that campaign. Well structured and teaches so much about the aircraft that the manual would not give. You can read manuals and forget applying while in game, with basic campaign like Maple's, sort of teaches how it is properly done while in the cockpit. There is one created for the M-2000C that is equally very good having flown the Hornet converted version. A campaign like that of A-10C by maples for the Hornet and Viper will be an instant buy for me.

Laser equipment are expensive and burn out over time. You do not want to forget to switch off during intense combat environments. More importantly, there could friendlies and civilian in the area of operation, you do not want fire the laser on. It has been reworked to get it as close to real even consequences does not matter in our sim I believe.

15fps is pretty low for that resolution. Some bug fixing are in the works. Let hope major issues like fps issues are addressed in July open update. You could check your nvidia graphic settings and see if settings are good. 2d play gives very good frame for me on gtx 1060 (60-122fps depending on situations).I get by in vr fine on low settings. Check SSLR is off in dcs graphic setting. SSLR was introduced fairly recently. SSLR is an fps eater.

I cannot find run.exe in my dcs world folder. What version of dcs are you using? I have use the openbeta Have you tried running the dcs.exe or dcs_updater.exe in your bin folder after repair? Either of those two usually will run dcs world but dcs_updater.exe would check for update first and then load dcs world. You could open a technical support ticket on ED website for a better solution.

An expert on graphic card on youtube debunked that $150 for the shroud/cooler only. I really want to believe him and hope also big Nav comes charging this time to intensify price competition.

That G2 by Mrtv video was recorded with a smart phone. It does not represent actual views if you put focus and quality of the camera into consideration. It should look better in the real headset. Yes, I am plan on upgrading from pascal to ampere gen. I hope they are affordable too. Hard to justify a $1200 for gpu card now. My target are the 3070 and 3080 series. These I believe should do well with hp G2

That is stunning. I do not know for sure, isn't that visual in-headset more than 720p on desktop? We really need vr optimization in dcs going forward.
-
Weird, Normally after running repair, the exe file would be place back in your eagle dynamic/dcs world/bin folder. Did you check if dcs.exe file was put back in there? You would need to create a new shortcut of the exe file to your desktop.
-
Check your anti-virus is not not tagging the exe as virus. If so you may have to add the exe or the whole folder to your exclusion list. Try turn off your anti-virus when update and later put the exe file in exclusion

Realteus Good news \ Bad news
Eaglewings replied to HoYa's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I look towards combining this motion vibration seat in vr. The hardware requirements to truly enjoy dcs is quite an investment. I need some next gen gpu and vr upgrade and the best bargain option for the vibration seat is important for me hence I looking the Realteus solution. -
So we are not getting those features? Please is there a dedicated thread like a mini update page for the F-15Eagle by Razbam? I like to know what are on board the version they(Razbam) are doing.

Curious here, does the F-16 have something in the DED section similar to the FPAS page in the Hornet? That would help considering the OP question.
