I mapped the important keybinds to your hotas keys and use mouse to click switches and buttons in the cockpit. You get use to using the mouse. I use Samsung odyssey plus but the rift S has a very good reviews for a starter. Sent from my H3223 using Tapatalk

AMD RX 6800XT vs. Nvidia RTX 3080
Eaglewings replied to JayRoc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank a lot to you Jayroc and your crew for the time and effort that went into providing this benchmarks. This is a hard to find dcs specific benchmark in vr. Very useful information and a good hardware buyer's guide. [emoji106] Sent from my H3223 using Tapatalk -
Correct on that BitMaster. Throwing brute hardware force on dcs in vr has got it limits. I have seen the mighty rtx 3090 report in vr, not ground breaking. A new dcs engine overhaul will be the answer to fps improvements. Boy! Wish that dcs engine overhaul would come as this year roll over. Daydreaming [emoji23] Sent from my H3223 using Tapatalk

I seriously hope against the projection in that article. when it comes to fightsim, vr is a very immersive add-on. Much of the points cited as reasons for future demise of vr does not hold much water. Prices are becoming affordable and the level of vr development now is in many ways a whole lot different from the 3D TV. My first try of dcs in vr killed whatever fun I was getting using trackir on a 2d screen so I am not one of those who just want to play on a regular 2d screen anymore. Usability is more convenient for me without those cables running around, infrared headset and camera hanging on screen Really been spoiled by vr that other sim I once loved but without VR support just do not get a sizeable amount of my playing time. I do not play other game in vr so perhaps the appeal for vr could wear out over time on those games but for flightsim and race/truck sim, vr is a winner anytime. For those who seek realism, vr in my opinion will always be a sought-after device. It is worth adding that the wonders of vr is also being explored in other areas like medical, educational, etc. These other areas of use could drive its development further. I would say VR is the future. Sent from my H3223 using Tapatalk

Nice of you to share your experience with the rtx3070 in vr. I had that card in mind because I did not want to do a complete upgrade with my present 650w psu. The 8g vram got me thinking again and now looking at amd 6800. So care sharing how the vram on the 3070 is doing in vr. Vram usage is about the only thing making me uncertain about the 3070. Also there is plan for the HP reverb G2 along the way. Sent from my H3223 using Tapatalk

Dcs 2.5.6 lighting upgrade kind of tanked whatever vr upgrade as then.
-
I have waited out the Nvidia 2000 series for the 3000 series for my VR gpu upgrade, now the AMD RX 6800 is really getting my attention with the 16g Vram which looks like a big deal in vr. I had the 3070 in mind earlier but seems like the spec of 3070 will make you want to upgrade again in not too distant future. All the youtube tech guys talking about these graphic cards on youtube scarcely put vritual reality in their performance rating analysis so I am still waiting to see Vr performance data on the AMD cards. My current gtx 1060 is no longer keeping up in dcs 2.5.6.

How about the manufacturer's website?

The Enemy Within 3.0 and Warthog II
Eaglewings replied to baltic_dragon's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
Great. Thanks -
Reprojection is done by steamvr software.
-
I am hoping we can get to hear a bit of that incredible sound advertised on GA video in-cockpit while pulling the trigger.
-
I drift towards the A-10C ll. But I must say my renewed interest in the warthog with new upgrade has opened my eyes to some really good stuff that is in the old A-10C. The gun is super. The new flight model just make the warthog module a lot of fun to fly.
-
+1 I can remember putting much interest in flying the A-10C before but I hardly fly other modules I have now. Just got to know about few things about the aircraft that I not know earlier. The flight model is so stable, enjoying the guns and of course the HMCS. It is been fun relearning the warthog again.
-
+1 A structured training campaign is an instant buy for my anytime. It is perfect way to learn these high fidelity module. Wish Maple's A-10C dlc training campaign can be done for the Tomcat, Hornet and Viper.
-
Yeah, I am very aware of saving the old saved game folder and moving file such mission, config, kneeboard and other relevant files back to the new folder. Thanks for the heads up.
-
Good finding. I will give that a shot from my end too and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing.
-
There are some training missions for the Viper. There are no payware campaign yet. I am sure campaigns would come along as development of the module get more complete.
-
The new lighting really eroded vr performance on my end too. It is not a show stopper anyways considering the fact that the new lighting is here to stay but performance could be improved.

Interestingly enough I was able to change to 60hz on mwr window and it worked this time with proper scaling.
-
Why is it that when I set my WMR to 60hz scales my 3D world so small that it is unplayable in that mode. The whole cockpit just shrinks to a minaiture display and setting dcs PD does not seems to help enlarge the scale of 3d image. Anyone notice this with O+?

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
Eaglewings replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Strangely enough, increasing steam SS doesn't seems to do much for me since updating to dcs world 2.5.6, distant object are so washed-out so I use a combination of both to get less pixelated images both on menu screen and in the 3d world. Just what works for me at this time. -
Yes you can.
