Hello all. Looking for some buying advice here. Presently using the Virpil CM-3 throttle combined with the Thrustmaster warthog Flight stick(F-16/A-10C stick). I have had the TM Flightstick for more than 5 years now and it has served. I am hard-pressed to get the Winwing F-16EX Combo unit(with the extra buttons and vibration kit) now for it's versatility purpose. Those additional buttons and axes I reckon would provide me with more keymapping for other aircraft like the AH-64D. I have been using the modifier function to get along but oftentimes it is easy to forget what I have mapped for different birds. Also considering that Winwing just opened a USA outlet and the discount looks great. I have seen some reviews on YouTube and I have read several issues about it like the Winwing F-16ex stick is loose at the center and all that. Does anyone care to share his/her experiences on the Winwing F-16EX stick and Orion 2 base? Thanks

If you compare the scale of the aircraft in VR hanger to the in-game outside scale of aircraft, yes there is a big difference for me. The VR hanger seems like that is the realistic world scale

In the same boat with you. I bought the app and extensions but the hurdle was getting Voice Attack and/or Microsoft speech recognition software to constantly get my voice commands. It would be great if other voice recognition software could be used. I fly VR so I know the important role app like Viacom Pro plays.

All the aircraft systems are independently simulated and they work in sync? That is just mind blowing. How about the in-cockpit manual, both in 2d and VR? That is a Read-while-you-take-a-ride fun. The F4. Looks phenomenal. Thank you Heatblur for raising the bar in dcs.

I want to salute ED's efforts at improving the core performance with the coming of Dcs 2.9 Openbeta. A very welcomed improvement and immersive features. The vegetation reaction to rotor movement is brilliant. Sucks me into the game more in my Apache Enjoying open world simulator like dcs to a close-to-satisfactory level requires beefy hardware and this is making the hobby expensive. Dcs 2.9 has just given my present hardware another lease of life. DLSS is superb on 2D monitor not so for vr sadly but we will see what the future brings with this technology. VR play now shines with DLAA. DCS world is a prettier one with all the shimmers virtually gone while on DLAA SSS creates a richer and realistic world. Flying the F-15E Low-level Flight Practice (Day) mission in the Instant mission section is simply amazing with SSS turned on. Watching the replay of this mission with the new Cinematic camera leaves me with that wow! effect. So thank you ED. The future is looking quite bright for DCS World.

You could try any of the old version of Dcs Updater utility. Version 7:31:2023 GUI interface would just quit on me before I could do anything. I reverted to on earlier version which worked until the latest version was released. Good luck.

The shimmering is considerably taken care of by DLAA for me in vr. TAA works very well too but soften the text on the cockpit panels. I will stay with DLAA for now and keep on tweaking. Some bit of stuttering to work out. I can hold for a while before upgrading my hardware much longer with dcs 2.9 I play Vr most times. DLSS is absolutely great for 2D play. DLSS put my framerate at my 2k monitor 144hz with no visual difference compare to native resolution. Dcs 2.9 is a big step forward for dcs. Sent from my XQ-AT52 using Tapatalk

Thank you SkateZilla for your interest in my case. At this time, I do not get any app log. Could you lead me in the direction where the app log is stored.

I have been having issues with the launcher staying open after launch. I launch it and it opens up and immediately goes off just a few seconds of displaying the user interface. I had stopped using the app for some weeks now because crashes and thought I should try again and it just would not stay on. I am using the latest version. Any ideas on what could be going on.

It happens on the modules that I own. I got logout in the F-15E one time and the last time, I was in the AH-64D. All these I own. I did a trial test on the J-17 more than a month ago which has expired. If I remember correctly, I also have deleted all the modules I downloaded for trial test. I will have to check very well. Yes I can imagine why I felt reluctant to use Google authenticator app to have 2FA enabled. Sharing more pesonal info like phone number which I think Google authenticator probably would give isn't going to go well with many. Sent from my XQ-AT52 using Tapatalk

Me too. I had an incredible time when I played EF2000 Typhoon on the scandanavia map by DID back in the days. It would sure be looking much more better than what was available in EF2000 back then considering the fact that Orbx are well renowned for map making and the quality of the software technology available currently in making maps.
