Hey Flightsimnerd, A couple of issues might be affecting you. First, at present we are only able to Slew the TGP while in AG / CCRP mode. This means there has to be a waypoint near your target area you can initially slew to and then adjust as necessary. Next, We're gonna need a little more information to help you. Let us know what kind of Stick and throttle are you using so we can make sure you have the necessary controls mapped correctly.

While lots of different helicopters would be neat...I think we would be better served if we focused on what helicopters we "need". What choppers do we "need"? Well let's look at it from a mission created point of view... We "need" SH-60Bs for the modern Carrier Operations being developed. Both operationally as Plane Guard Aircraft and VERTREP assets. We "need" CH-46 Sea Knights, CH-53 Sea Stallions, UH-1Ys and AH-1W/Z to operate off of LHAs along side Harriers. We "need" UH-60Gs CH-47s, HH-53s and MH-53s CH-47s for logistics, UH-60Gs and CH-53s for heavy lifting and combat search and rescue. Now are we likely to get all of these aircraft...probably not. But it would be better to have 1 or 2 helicopters that compliment the current aircraft and missions than a dozen " neat helicopters" with no real " mission" to perform in the current version of DCS world we have.

I'm inclined to believe if it was as easy to do as you believe...they would have already done it. :music_whistling:

Heres the real question... Everyone is complaining about missing features that belong on the aircraft while asking for features that are unnecessary be added. We have a targeting pod that works. Personally, I don't want ED to waste resources adding a feature that may or may not be accurate for the F-18C we have. Yes there are pictures of F-18s with a TOG mounted on the cheek station. There is also evidence this wasn't done on carriers. Both arguments are correct. But it's not worth the time and effort to add ithe lightening to the creek station as an interim measure. Especially if it pulls resources away from other things like the ATFLIR.

How are the potentiometers for the wheels mounted? I'm considering one of the Hispapanels kits but the lack of instructions is off putting.

Remember guys... early access...if you can’t cold start without a checklist, fly an overhead flawlessly and perform an ILS to minimums at Nellis there is plenty to do while waiting for the next update.

Sorry gentlemen but most of you are completly wrong. Have a Look at this article and scroll down to the section titled "Canopy Tinting". https://www.usaf-sig.org/index.php/reference/41-research-material/82-f-16-viper-faq-stuff-you-wanted-to-know-about-the-f-16cd?fbclid=IwAR2KmDkm3o6DWc1kdh9RBXqfzhnOhrfY5Vz4p9lnoBsZLVLGCxxb8iHybMc Take a close look at the photos included...Some of the Canopies are Yellow. Some are more Bluish, Some are Bluish and the Rear part is Yellowish...Some the Front is yellowish and the Rear is bluish/clear. They are all completely different. Plexiglass ages. And over the years different coatngs have been used for various reasons that changes the appearance of the canopies. Now the fact they appear yellowish when viewed at from the outside and clear from the inside could be addressed. You could post THAT issue as a bug in the Bug Section. Personally I would wait until the Final textures are completed and released because the entire thing is a work in progress. Everyone complaining the color is incorrect... Sorry

I love reading statements made as "Fact" when nobody except ED knows the real story. I seem to remember some of you are the same people who stated as "FACT" the F-16 would "Never" be ready for early access this year because it took them so long to do the F-18. .

OK Stupid Question...Can I put the Pilot Helmet Visor up and Down and if so, How? The F-16 splash screen clearly shows the Visor up...what am I missing?

I'm using a Cougar with stock pots but an after market USB kit. Mine works pretty reliably. Can you tune the input using target or CCP.

Who designed the F-16 mission "Island Style?"

Can ya post a track? -
A fact that is completely irrelevant. That being said I just dropped 10 GBU-12s...One at a time...from 15,000 feet and had 10 hits. I'd suggest checking your mappings to make sure your leasing.

Even aircraft WITH fuel dump have to use alternate methods of reducing weight when "adjusting Gross weight" isn't allowed. Flew a mission in the KC-135R one morning that was supposed to go WAAAAAAY up north over Canada and refuel a B-52. About an hour before AR, the BUFF cancelled...leaving us ohhhhhhh about 50 THOUSAND pounds over our max landing weight when we got home. Since it wasn't an emergency...we couldn't just dump the gas. We ended up descending to 10,000 feet and flying home gear down and flaps 30 just to keep the fuel burn up where it needed to be so we'd be able to land when we got back to great falls. Sometime those CFM-56 engines were a curse.

Get a T.1600M and TWCS...Should be more than good enough for what you're looking for and inexpensive. -
"Must Spread Rep"... Well you know what I mean... Nice explanation

[CANNOT REPRODUCE] Autopilot doesn't work in Mission Editor
Sierra99 replied to Musicman2018's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
THE most important thing to do is make sure you have a slight dead zone in the pinptch and roll axis of your stick. If there is ANY pitch or roll input the auto pilot will not engage. -
As a retired USAF aircrew member I can say we only used QFE in Europe. Stateside we used QNH. I.E. altimeter reads field altitude not zero.

Are we talking Cougar style throttle only or a warthog style with throttle and some appropriate panel controls? I have the former. Would be very interested in the latter.

So if if I understand this correctly they are slightly LARGER than the viewing are of a Cougar MFD (4.25 inches) But slightly SMALLER than the Cougar MFD overall size (5.5 inches)? if they have image border to border that sounds almost perfect. As far as I know the Cougar is the only real plug and play MFD ring out there...It has to be "the most popular" simply due to numbers If you're talking something like this: https://www.ebay.com/p/13028240428?iid=392279920542&rt=nc Design a "Case /Bezel" that allows the screen to be attached directly to the back of a Cougar MFDs and Brother...you will have hatched a goose that lays golden eggs. And the nice thing is, you could do multiple bezels for the base screen that to allow them to be attached to scale size MFD rings that are available from other sources. (pcflights, hispapanels, etc) I'll be watching with interest...

Is the DCS Viper modeled after ANG or USAF F-16s?
Sierra99 replied to Vampyr's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
No they're not. All of the Block 40/42 and 50/52 aircraft that went through CCIP are the same. A Block 50 CCIP jet being operated by the Duluth MN ANG is exactly the same as a Block 50 CCIP jet being operated by the 55th at Shaw. A block 40 CCIP jet being operated by Sioux Falls if the same as a Block 40 being operated by Pope. Now if you meant some Guard units have different Block aircraft, this is true. Guard units have a mix of Block 15 ADF Block 30 and some have 40 / 42s. The intent of the CCIP program was commonality across 4 blocks of aircraft, The only differences being engines and between the 40/42s and 50/52s the 40 series didn't get the Bird Slicer IFF antennas. This is an excellent article on the different F-16 Blocks. https://preview.tinyurl.com/y2evyf8e -
Is the DCS Viper modeled after ANG or USAF F-16s?
Sierra99 replied to Vampyr's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
The modifications really had nothing to do with "who" was operating the aircraft. The CCIP Program was applied to specific airframes. Blocks 40/42 and Block 50/52. Some units operated earlier blocks and were transitioned to CCIP birds as they became available, other operated Block 50s that became CCIP birds. This like everything else is about money and mission. All CCIP birds are the same...but ANG and Active duty use different bank accounts when buying parts and pieces. It makes sense to have commonality across your fleet. Its not so much, give the old junk to thee guard", but give us all the same airplanes so we don't have to stock so many different parts. -
