Hi thanks for the reply. I think I’ve got it working I think it was because I had the audio mini jack plugged in and it was preventing it from going into USB mode. Thanks.

Hi everyone can anybody provide any advice i've just had a Jetseat arrive from Andres shop i've downloaded the simshaker software I have checked to make sure my Net Frame version is up to date I've downloaded the control panel selected usb mode, alternative mode, set Force Feedback in DCS world but I just get continuous vibration as if its in sound mode and the control panel shows the seat as disconnected I cant seem to get it to connect.

This is looking amazing, pilot bodies look great cockpit looks great mfd’s look great and by the sounds of it the FM is really complex, I can’t wait to buy it plus the helicopter looks great as well. I’m no longer purchasing every module released for DCs anymore but this one has my attention.

Looking at these videos of the Syria map and it’s absolutely stunning. Which is making me fear performance in VR will be similar to Channel map

That’s helpful thanks for the information. Regarding the steam VR, I’m noticing a lot of people mentioning steam vr with reverb. Is this because you have the steam version of DCS? Or you benefit running dcs through steam even though you have the standalone version because the reverb benefits from it or needs it? Just something I’ve never quite understood, Many thanks.

Ok that’s encouraging guys. Thanks for the info. I’ve had my CV1 for a long while now but have never been fully satisfied, it’s always a case of I can just get it running at 45fps but the slightest drop below that just 3-4fps less and you really notice it. It’s not always smooth. Also it looks pretty awful now even at PD 1.5 so I end up using 2xMSAA to compensate. And to me oculus have never got the colours right. Are colours pretty good with the reverb? I want to make an upgrade but don’t really want to spend £1000 on a new graphics card just yet. Do you guys feel the reverb would benefit if I upgraded my cpu as well?
-
Ok it sounds like the reverb may give better performance than my CV1 it obviously looks much better with it.

I’ve seen a video of a guy running a HP reverb with DCS world and it looks pretty smooth, and that was using a 1080ti. Do you guys think that’s achievable or does it have to be completely empty missions, and at minimum I would need an rtx 2080?

Realteus ForceFeel Haptic Pad Review
westr replied to Jabbers_'s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok sorry, I know I seem a big thick here, just want to make sure I get it right because I’m reading SimShaker for Aviators by f4l0 Is compatible with DCS. So you selected Sim Shaker wings in the box for additional licence to add? -

Ok I shall be interested to see what you think of it when you get it. From what I’ve been reading they look like they more or less both do the same thing. Which product did you actually order from him, I just want to make sure I order a pad compatible with DCS? -

Realteus ForceFeel Haptic Pad Review
westr replied to Jabbers_'s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I’m really interested in purchasing something like this to increase immersion, I’ve emailed Realteus and Andres shop regarding his jet seat. But have had no reply. I don’t want to hand over money until I have some confidence they are trading etc. Have people ordered products and they have been delivered, are things getting better with these products now or would you advise I stay well away? -
Yes, This is a good point you raise here.

Performance wise this OB has not been the best but it’s been more the channel map. I’ve noticed very poor performance on it in VR. I cannot say for certain if there has been a performance drop regarding the other maps. I do know that in the case of HBs Viggen there is a big performance drop if you select the ground radar and have it set to a range of 30nm I think. Other ranges are fine but this range causes a big FPS hit. It’s a known issue that I think HB have said they are working on. The tomcat I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference in performance i find it is one of the more taxing modules on frames though.

I am having some problems with my CV1 not quite the same as yours but has happened since the latest OB update. If I run Oculus tray tool before starting open beta it doesn’t load. Sometimes it will after an eternity but the dcs window does not show on my monitor and Although I can see the dcs menu through VR I can’t select anything with the mouse. It’s a fresh install of Open beta with no mods.

No offence meant but everyone has there own agenda and priority’s and for me like many other dcs simmers particularly those that have made the transition to VR this is a big deal. I’ve loved DCS for many years right from the beginning with the A10c, I learnt all the systems and weapons on the A10 as I have with many dcs aircraft hornet mig 21 etc. It didn’t bother me not having the VR pilot using a 2D monitor but since VR It really is something I notice more and more when I fly. I assume you fly in VR and I get that it doesn’t bother you and that’s great but please respect other people’s priorities, I don’t want to get into an argument that’s not my intention but to suggest that we go and try war thunder because we would like this function incorporated after two years will be taken the wrong way. For me there are enough full fidelity modules that have enough features implemented and have VR pilot added to keep me busy Hornet, Viggen, M2000c. But as a Brit I love the harrier and really look forward to this feature being added as I think some of the work Razbam has done on the harrier despite some harsh criticism has been really good.

I've spent all day playing with settings in the OB today to get better performance in VR. Conclusions I've come to if your using Oculus Tray Tool (latest version) Default ASW mode for me is best set to adaptive. Its Between this and OFF but I find with adaptive it is just slightly less juddery. Process Lasso does nothing for me and DCS in fact it often stopped DCS loading. In actual fact I back to back tested Multithreading on and my DCS definitely benefits from it being on. I've managed to push my CPU past the 4.20 mark but the gain has been minimal. My GPU is pretty much maxed out between 90-100 use in game. The only slight improvement I noticed was using alt+return to maximize the game window, not really FPS improvement but certainly helped with stutters. Ultimately between testing this and the stable version I have a huge performance advantage in the stable version, and my stable version is on the slower disk drive. Not a dig at ED I know they introduced a lot to DCS World recently, Just really hoping they can find some snags and optimize performance, I know I've got to go to a RTX 2080 at some point but don't want to pay out just yet.

Yes I agree with you I have plenty of other modules to learn systems and weapons delivery etc I just want pilot body added it makes such a difference. Just landing the harrier vertically is such a cool thing to do in DCS. It all comes down to personal preference I suppose. I know they posted an image of the harrier pilot just after the mirage pilot was released. I thought therefore it wouldn’t be long but it’s gone a bit quiet since then. I keep hoping it will come with the next OB update.

I've treaded this like a wishlist and voted for the Tornado and the Jaguar, but if the poll is purely on what I think is doable for developers my answer would probably be different.

You’ve not been in the forum community long enough to come to such a conclusion don’t you think? Consider that many of us are happy to suffer the bugs if it means we get to try the new features sooner. We also report things that don’t work because we would like them fixed ASAP but we don’t go about it in the way you are. That’s why ED chose to have an open beta and a stable version. Bignewy has been communicating to us on EDs behalf for a while now. I don’t know exactly what you expect from him but he can only report on information told to him by the developers and I’ve never had a problem with what he does same as many others on here I’m sure.

two more weeks, come on he has a sense of humor.

In six years since dcs took over from the RRG debacle we’ve seen 6 detailed aircraft released if you include the P-51/25 with the new cockpit textures, two WW2 maps and a WW2 assets pack, granted I would have liked more a.i aircraft assets added to this by now but DCS WW2 is gathering pace. I think a hell of a lot could be achieved with it within the next 6 years. The team has expanded over the years.
