  1. I'm noticing a 15 fps hit for the F14in VR with the latest patch. Where I previously got 45fps im getting 30fps. Makes quite a difference. Cant say its specifically the HUD or VDI for me Going to start going through things to work out what will make a difference.

  7. Yes it’s a good idea it would speed things up if it worked.
  8. For certain upgrades Yes. I would like to be able to add infantry in the back seats and be able to look round and see them. Vietnam era infantry would be excellent. Animated embarking and disembarking again would be a very positive update to the Huey. Decent water on the canopy effects that the wipers can effect. There’s a lot of potential in the Huey that could be developed in the future. But these are the sort of things I would be prepared to spend money on. From a purely VR perspective I don’t think I would see much gain from cockpit texture upgrades like you would if you use a monitor.

  10. I pray there is a release of aircraft suitable for a Battle of Britain scenario in the future, the map would be perfect.

  12. I’m not sure modern terrain objects and buildings, and objects I’ve seen around the air bases in the screenshots would look right in a WW2 scenario.

    Wet decks

    I would love to see some attention given to the effects of rain. Spray from launching or recovering aircraft and reflections from lights on a shimmering wet carrier deck. It’s something I’ve noticed looking at pictures of carrier decks particularly in inclement weather. Well this is a wish list I know it’s asking a lot but I would love to see this sort of detail added further down the line.

  16. Hi looking for some advice. Specifically from anyone who has a similar build to my rig using an Oculus. I put together my current rig about 1yr ago. I use an Oculus CV1. I enjoy mainly 45fps in all the modules I own in most circumstances, and I am able to have nice detail in my settings. MSAA x2 shadows high textures high. Pixel density 1.6 I have spent hours perfecting my settings to the point where if I lower any individual Items in settings from this point it makes very little difference to my performance I’ve also spent a long time playing with pixel density to get the best performance/look so I’m happy where I am with that. Some modules work better than others the F18 I find runs better than any. Some others not so well. The Spitfire on the Normandy map runs worse than any other. However this has improved since the latest OB updates and generally I can maintain 45fps. Where I seem to suffer and it certainly prevents me from purchasing any of the campaigns put together by 3rd party developers is when I have large volumes of ai aircraft. Ground vehicles don’t cause as much of a problem but It still has an effect. Missions on the Caucasus with the hornet I can add decent levels of ai aircraft. But say for example I have a flight of mustangs or spitfires in Normandy and I’m flying in close formation I then get involved in a dogfight with a large number of 109s. Then I really notice a large drop in performance. Sometimes down to 12fps and it’s just unplayable. Or also say a large formation of B17s this has a big effect on performance. So at this moment in time I have a Ryzen 7 2700x CPU. I have all my memory slots filled with 32gb of Ram and a GTX 1080ti. I can’t see any more advantage gained from RAM or would someone with VR experience disagree? Is there a single change I can make that will help with high object count in missions. CPU, graphics card, someone even mentioned on the forums they noticed a performance help from going to a HP reverb, or is it simply one of the disadvantages of VR?. I don’t really want to construct a whole new rig only having this one for a year. I look forward to any advice from VR users. Many Thanks. Edit: I also have DCS world installed on an NvME SSD so cant really improve on that either.
  17. If I’m honest I would only want an FRS1. 1 because it’s the aircraft that saw active service in the Falklands. And 2 in my opinion it’s such a pretty jet yet the FA2 was so ugly. It’s amazing how different the changes made the two aircraft look. I’m sure the FA2 was a very capable aeroplane also having amraam capability. But I loved the old sea harrier and missed it when they went to the FA2.

  20. Really getting stuck into the Viggen again this is awesome with the Pilot in the seat and VR. Thanks so much Heatblur Bug: if I set radar range on display to 60 I get single figures on FPS, any other range 45FPS Has this already been reported?

  23. It’s really starting to come together now the hornet. My favourite module, I play VR and find hornet so immersive. FPS are great, pilot body looks great. Great array of weapons, now having TWS I’m looking forward to getting stuck into a2a with the F/18.

The dcs ww2 scenario would need to be heavily fleshed out compared to how it is now, I’m also not a big fan of how the Normandy map has been left certainly from a VR perspective, but I do feel dcs world would be a good home for a study sim of a WW2 bomber. Either a Lancaster or B17. I look forward to seeing what this next ww2 map will be as It could fit well with a heavy. The mosquito will be a step in that direction being a piston twin engine. It’s a lot of work a heavy, I liked the old (insert here) B17 sim, and the way they attempted to do it. I’m sure this could be improved on heavily now.
