  1. pencil paper tablet = flip pad
  2. the big thing about the maps for me is trying to figure out how to add a template of objects without having to add each object one-by-one. I never understood the template way....
  3. Mark the target with the pod... and it is a accurate and can hit tanks.. dead on... but using the waypoints gets confusing and misses targets.... IMHO
  4. sad...... was trying to budget so I can get the stuff while I have a little bit of money...
  5. just hang around.... it will come! if it is like all previous years...
  6. Some people make a post with a misleading headline that sounds like that in fact so and so is and needs this or that, when in fact they are hoping or dreaming for whatever they are posting about. So, the headline they posted is false and worded wrong, like they are stating a fact, when really they are just asking for something that do not exist. So, we end up finding something out that was falsely misleading and stated as fact, but really doesn't exist and maybe never will and dream and wish was stated as fact. I find that very, very annoying.
  7. I often have a comment I want to say, but I don't want to sound like a dick... how about when,,, not which day but what year?
  8. Use this Code to Get Intel's 1TB 660p NVMe SSD for $85 https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-660p-1tb-deal,39948.html Intel's SSD 660p NVMe drive is back at its all-time low price. Today, if you use code EMCTDVC22 to get $10 off, Newegg has it for $85 ($95 without code). For those keeping track at home, that's 8.5 cents per gigabyte. Intel 660p NVMe 1TB SSD for $85 with code EMCTDVC22 ======== note,, I saw the ad. I do not own one of these brands, I have 2 ssd's though and could not fly without an ssd
  9. This happens to me too, in the game options you can turn the engine failures off,, but they used different wording, probably because they used crappy translation software. When my engine breaks, and i am not pushing it, it just breaks... I see the engine lights on but since I don't think there is a buzzer, I usually don't see any warning. It just blows and that's it.
  10. I have to ask the guy who had his helos (under his command) at Ramstein Air Base. he also flew in Vietnam, but I only serviced the ones at Ramstein circa 1980. it turns out I now live near one of the guys who was a combat pilot and trainer on several helos that were there. I wasn't familiar with model numbers. it had to have been the OH-58A with the gun on it but no passenger seat. the photos make it look much larger. IMHO
  11. not sure if some of you know how small this tiny chopper is... it is so frakin tiny,,, they usually had a small gun on the front... under the front end, and at most could carry maybe a stretcher (on a skid) of a wounded soldier, but that weight would totally throw the balance... of course no chopper is really quiet, but it was as close to it as it could.... not any rotor slap that I remember, so being sneaky was easier.....
  12. I grew up 2 blocks from Northrop facility that built the F-5. I would see them taking off after final inspection. This was around 1965+ also many of their aircraft were shipped in pieces by train. Later in the USAF I serviced them (both in USA and Europe). Tiny. I don't remember anything bad, or instances of emergency landing and the like which happened with other fighters. We also had them at a SAC ICBM and B-52 and Tanker Base I was stationed at. of course they didn't have the modern avionics then.
  13. I have beat my head against the wall trying to figure with is going on with FC3 and Mac. isn't here someone who can say when where?
  14. is this absolutely true from DCS, or just talk? Will FC4, Mac, be part of DCS or it's own? I am disappointed if it is separate!
  15. no play for me either, tried MS and Chrome both.... just error
  16. that is what I was telling my squad that when I worked with the British Harrier, before Falklands, they took off with full loads... never once saw a running take-off, all were vertical.:joystick:
  17. I am very happy for the Ka-50 updates and more.. and really get bummed when the Black Shark update isn't ready. Just hope it is soon, been along time waiting.... like a child waking up on Xmas running to the tree...
  18. I spent half of 2008 living in a hospital fighting for my life.. and was unable to use a computer for one year because i was really bad (am still very sick)... and I see so many young people that die long before their time... I may not know everyone, or have flown with everyone,, but feel the same for everyone who leave early.... you never know when and how... so enjoy what you have today. Our families often think we play like children on flight sims... we can at least let them know there are people they never met who care.
  19. you added bonus in thread, I search for bonus about points, and end up with unrelated bonus... grrrrrrrr
  20. it just happened to me tonight, the (left) landing gear screwed up... didn't know until I flew a few minutes..
  21. maybe they are at city wok
  22. I cannot progress any further with the Harrier, until I get a new stick / HOTAS. As my Saitek X52 Pro is worn after all these years and slewing is hard with worn parts. So, I cannot blame any module for problems until I get the new stick and see whether it is me, the stick, or the aircraft code. I do have to say that it take slots of practice and then remember the commands and have the manual and cheat sheets next to me. And if one flies more aircraft, then remember each aircraft. I have improved my flying the Harrier with tons of practice, and really like it. The weapons are good and fun, and deadly. MY problems are the worn stick and if I press the wrong key, all of the locking target work I did is gone, all because of one wrong keypress. So, I took those commands/key presses and put them in a place on my stick where it is much harder to use. When I get the new stick I have my eyes on, I will then see if it is me of the aircraft that is hard to fly and kill with. The videos make it look so easy, but often when a video is made.. the videos and training videos are very slow to get to the point, don't actually show some of the key presses, and when trying to re-create what I learned in the video, cannot replicate the same. I don't use track-ir, as I found it to hard because of my physical issues with body movements that are to quirky for the track-ir. So, I cannot see behind things and around corners in the aircraft like those with 3d view and track-ir. So, the video just show people spending too much time hemming and hawing,,, and then clicking around too fast. I do really like the harrier. I worked with the harrier that flew in the Falklands war. They would come over the base I was stationed at in Germany before the war. The pilots made them look very easy to fly, and never saw a conventional landing by one in real life, they only flew to land and take off vertical, only a few feet from me. Always smooth and each move was deliberate and without error. I can't wait to someday, hopefully this year have the new stick setup and try the aircraft, but expect the new Hotas and Pedals to be around $800.00 USD , and good by old worn out but well taken care of Saitek. Good bye plastic Junk and screwy buttons.
  23. watching to see who installs and see what is what... wish the description, narrative, etc was more complete....
  24. I didn't6 have the Harrier. I had the chance to pick up another aircraft, I don't have al of them... probably never will, but anyways... I know others who bought it and flew it for a while, until the next new toy came out. I had come to expect it to work pretty good. MY friends were buzzing around in it, and seem to enjoy it. I serviced the British harriers that went to the Falklands, when I was in the USAF. So, I bought it on sale. I spent a week coding my commands, Hotas, etc... and went to use some weapons, and for the life of me I couldn't get some stuff to work. It turned out there was a mistake in the commands, and (two commands for sperate functions had the same command, so that weapon command would not work...) So, A zillion hours of frustration, and asking in forums why doesn't this work. of course everyone asked the basic questions, 'did you plug it in? like questions...' it was coded wrong out the gate, easy fix but a fews days of frustration. I never flew one in real life, so I can't know how close it is to real. I know Beta means, not yet ready for prime time. Ok, Fine. The products from this developer are good, so I am not worried. I have other aircraft. But, if someone comes on saying that something is not working right... there is a 50% chance the product is bugged, and needs work. If it is around the Beta stage, fine, and if it is a really hard thing to code, fine. But, if it is something stupid like a weapon won't slew or release, then, it gets very annoying. I enjoy the products, aircraft, made by RAZBAM. I hope they thrive for all of us.
  25. Fixed,, the aircraft controls turned out had a flaw in the commands from the setup... 2 of the same command to different functions were built in,,, I found this after a lucky search turned this up for the Harrier using another search... I reprogrammed the key in the commands so there are no repeated copies any longer, to my knowledge.
