In today's patch changelog we have this item: "Possible fix for crash in CLC." Can someone explain to me what it is?
-
Hey there! The other day I played a night mission and when I sent my wingman to the tanker, I noticed through the F2 view that his light was on, lighting not only the basket, but the whole tanker. When I went to refuel, my light wasn't working (lights master switch was on) and I had to refuel in the dark So, Is the light on the refueling probe working? Do I have to turn some switch on and, if so, which one?

Just experienced it, ruined a really fun mission. Can confirm GBU-12 works perfectly, it seems only the LMAVs are affected.

VR: Open Beta: Carrier is one big red bulb of light.
Gianky replied to Lange_666's topic in Bugs and Problems
That's exactly it. I had set up the Lincoln deck with a row of F/A-18C lot 20 static objects along cat 1 and, at night, the left wing has the red light visible for miles, forming the aforementioned bulb. In my case, red shirts aren't visible at all. Btw, this happens on the Stennis, too. -
Thank you both for introducing me to this "feature" of the module, and to point out how to manage it to have flying wingmen! I'll edit the missions and hope that the current bug affecting spawning positions on the Tarawa won't hinder this attempt at having a normal mission.

Yeah, I don't remember the exact date, but in July 1994 the GPS works correctly. :megalol: For those who don't know:

Hey there! I'm new to the Harrier, so it might be something that's already known, but I think it could be linked to the reckless behaviour wingmen started exhibiting after the last couple of patches (see this thread to see what I'm talking about). Playing a couple of single player campaigns, I noticed that wingmen in the Harrier always crash at take off. Tonight I took a couple of screenshots during the mission, and it might be because, as you can see, they rotate the nozzles to the hover break position and keep them there to the unavoidable end... So, did anyone else notice it? Is it an already known behaviour, that I just didn't notice before the last couple of patches, or something new to report?

Even fmedges provided one. Since both of you said that the track was too big to attach on the forum, I think they need a new one because big tracks in DCS always get corrupted and don't show what actually happened. We need to provide a short track, maybe from a premade mission with just a straight in landing, so that the track doesn't (hopefully) get corrupted.

OSB 12 has a PRI mnemonic, which I assume is for Priority, but, guess what? It doesn't work..... :music_whistling: Darn, that's definitely worse. I bought it after an extensive testing during the free trial period, so I knew what I was getting... You paid for it full price expecting to get something very different from what we have today... I feel for you!

Yes, but that turn the RWR off... leaves you without any EW warning.... What QuiGon wanted to know is if it's possible to do as in the Hornet (and the real AV-8B), that is just decluttering the HUD of the RWR indications and keep having alerts from the RWR that you can visualize on the MFDs.
-
It did that even before SC, once landed, after folding the wings when I pressed NWS to have hi gain, it would lock on a target. You have to press the reset OSB on the radar page to drop the contact, I hope they'll fix this thing soon.

You're not the only one, my friend.... Guess you bought the Harrier in the last sale, like I? Well, there are a lot of bugs and many missing features, I thought it was still worth buying at half the price, given the unique flying characteristcs. Clearly, though, it's not at the same level of finishing than other full fidelity modules, even the ones in EA: I consider it a module half way between FC3 and a full-fi, it helps endure all the bugs I find.
-
Hey Idle_Wild, from the documentation around (pocket manual, Chuck guide, other manuals...) the Harrier doesn't carry the Mk-84 family of bombs, so, no, we're not gonna get the 31.
-
Hey QuiGon! I had the same question, especially since the pertinent training mission says it can be done, but I haven't found any way of doing it, not even Chuck comes to the rescue. So, my conclusion is that it can't be done, even if it should.
-
Thank you, Florence, will work on that!

The best thing, JoJo, is that the system will categorize the impact as damaged made by the player to the wingman aircraft, so that, if it crashes during the mission, you'll get a fratricide kill! Right now, hoping that ED will fix this very soon, the only solution is to let them go and rejoin in air... immersion breaking, but at least safe!

Hey there! I have to report that this bug is still persistent even in the new patch, the pipper will not show the correct position (I experienced it in A2G) and bullets will end up "higher" of the pipper position. It doesn't happen always, since I tried to test it in a training mission I made (in the previous patch) and everything was fine, but I have no idea what might trigger it. How about we collectively test it further, to see if we can determine what causes the bug?
-
For ED people, this looks similar to what's described in the following thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=271704 where I posted about the same behaviour Harry reported, with a Tacview track. Please, fix it as soon as possible, it's been going on since at least two patches and with the last one it seems to have worsened, since now AI aircrafts will merrily ram the player's one.

Gee... sorry, didn't see that part! :P

AI wingman taxies and launches
Gianky replied to Reflected's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
And, unfortunately, this behaviour still persist in the new update, it might even be worse. It's not only the fact that they taxy and launch without waiting, it's that they taxy at reckless speeds, completely ignoring you. I noticed what you said during last month playing with the F-18, the wingmen would simply hook up with the catapult and launch, but the situation wasn't better with other aircraft. As a matter of fact, Viper wingmen would taxy up to my nozzle and barely keep from crashing into it; a couple of days ago, a Viper cut my way to get to the runway and take off. Tonight I got rammed by my Harrier wingie, twice, and the (not) funny thing is that his plane got damaged by mine for the system, so, when it crashed later in the mission, I got a fratricide kill and had to replay that mission for the third time. I don't know if it can be useful, I'm attaching the Tacview track of the first attempt (it was a cold start mission, go to 17:40). I hope they fix this reckless AI behaviour, because it's mighty annoying and can potentially ruin a gaming session. Tacview-20200520-214620-DCS-5 URBAN COMBAT 1p9.txt.zip -
The question remains, though, what is the gray button for?

Luke, thank you very much for this! I thought that the day/night buttons were not functioning, too!

Copy, standing by. Thank you for your answer!

Hi RedKite, thanks for the preview, it's good to see your channel back to life (you had me worried for a bit, pal!)

It should be released today.
