  3. Yes it is, you will always trim - only difference in these conditions is that with more wind you will probably have to trim more. :)

  5. Mostly I am on the 104th&51st server, but generally I always join the TS of whatever community server i am flying on. Most often before starting DCS I will look in TS already and check where people are on comms. :D Bear in mind my english is horrible, mostly self taught with no concept for grammar and pronunciation. Still people are always very friendly and seem to even understand me. The most problems I have is when trying to communicate with other people with similary bad english. But honestly as soon as somebody understands how the bullseye works and how to give a BRA etc. those problems go away. In multiplayer communicating with my teammates is vital to me. Most pvp missions are set up in a way that expects A2G to work together with A2A for example. Sometimes the target area is very close the fighter front, sometimes targets need to be taken out to win the mission or neutralize threats. Nevermind a wingman looking out for you.

    Entweder missverstehst du, oder ich die Frage hier. :) In dem Bild unten rechts "T 13,9" ist die Entfernung von deinem Flugzeug zu dem Ziel.

There is a technique I want to share: In MP let the noobs fly in first, wait for them to be shot at, slew TGP where you see the trails start, fire away. :p Also check for a list of RWR threats, there are SAM's you don't want to engage, and there are SAMs where you want to know how to engange them. If there is an IR threat present you simply want to stay high, and may not even have to destroy them to complete your mission. Some radar SAMs can be avoided while flying very high, others will make short work of you.
  12. Maybe this is related: On the new version in MP I had twice a problem with my lase. The lase was on, I used it for a while and it worked. I use a different lase code in MP, it was set up in the DSMS inventory, TGP and latch on. One drop was both times successful when the problem occurred. Now after a time when I pressed the lase button, the laser would activate for a few seconds (like without latch) and deactivate. When I switched from LSR to BTH it would stay on, but the bomb would not track. I remember something from way back, that some stuff like the MAVS (?) could get hot and you should turn them off IRL, but this was not modded. Was there maybe some change that I need to turn off my lase/TGP after a while that I am not aware of? The tracks would be of MP games and very long, also I was not able to replicate the problem. Anyone? edit: Just to clarify, i didn't use auto lase.

  15. Those two modules are included in FC3. Same for me in the steam shop btw, It shows that you don't own the standalone FC3 modules - but you got them already with FC3. (@Everyone else, keys were merged, my Jan. 2013 FC3 version from the ED store is now merged with steam.)
  16. WTF! Why didn't I know that, right in front of my face all the time too. I need to look into the manual again. Thank you! :) Btw: you can also hook up your most recent mark point on the TAD. When you switch your STEERPT Dial to MARK you can also see them on the TAD.
  17. Ich raff nix mehr, 1.2.7.23803 ist der stabilste patch seit ewigkeiten. Reden wir wirklich über den aktuellsten: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1989994&postcount=4 der Freitag erst für die Beta und jetzt Montag für den Haupt client raus gekommen ist...? Bis jetzt hatte ich erst einen crash und das war bei einem map change. Btw die 104th haben extra missionen gebaut ohne Trigger um zu testen ob die crash's aus der Richtung kommen, aber ohne erfolg soweit ich weiss. Es haben sich in der Beta phase sehr viele leute mühe gemacht die Stabilität zu verbessern, stress tests unter verschiedenen konditionen etc. Also jetzt nicht aufgeben, gerade gibt es mal wieder einen hoffnungs schimmer. Btw auch wenn jetzt die Steine fliegen, ich spreche hier niemanden persöhnlich an, aber mal in den Raum geworfen an alle: Wer nicht die Beta versionen zieht und feedback gibt, darf hinterher auch nicht heulen wie scheisse der Patch geworden ist. Da geht noch mehr, und ich würde mir auch Wünschen das wer noch die Nerven&Rescourcen hat, sich dazu durch ringt einen Beta Server zur Verfügung zu stellen. An EU Servern mangelte es ein wenig und wir wollen doch auch unsern Teil beitragen alle Käfer auszustampfen. :) Hoffentlich macht ihr weiter, ich freue mich über jeden gut Organisierten Server. War noch nicht so oft bei euch, aber das Konzept gefällt mir sehr gut.

  19. I am in on this,TM Hotas owner. I joined a MP server, started up the A10-C and wanted to taxi, but NWS didn't work. First I thought my controls were screwed after the update (first flight) but when I went into the controls everything looked fine. Restarted and NWS worked.
  20. I don't really understand why to use Auto/semi at all, or advocate it. If you get locked/launched by a Radar SAM - you know it. If you are not, you 'know' its an IR. So why not go all the way with MANUAL on programm C - until you encounter an Radar threat and you just switch to programm B. :) Preventive counter measures seem not to work in DCS, from that I conclude that it is best to drop huge amounts when launched upon. Any tinkering with the programms will still have the problem that occurs when attacked by two different kinds of threats in AUTO/SEMI mode. (IR / Radar / AAA) To be honest I haven't used anything else in ages, there was a good thread here a few weeks ago where many respected members of the community laid out why anything but Manual mode was a receipe for disaster. I am talking Sim here not RL.
  21. This is the firstm time I hear that this might be actually modelled. If so, it is barely noticable. Same as inflight alignment I guess. (not modelled also)

(A10-C bezogen) Fakt ist du brauchst das Ruder fast ausschließlich auf dem taxiway, bei niedrigen Geschwindigkeiten - start/landung - und bei wenigen manövern die eine korrektur mit dem ruder brauchen. Letzteres kann man ruhig vernachlässigen, also bleibt nur Taxi, Start und Landung, hier kann man ruhig kurz die tastatur o.ä lösungen benutzen. Headtracking vs mouse/POV-hat look ist dagegen ein unterschied wie Tag und Nacht. Ob freetrack eine gute alternative zum TrackIR ist kann ich nicht beeurteilen, habe selber nur die kommerzielle variante probiert. Wenn Geld ein Problem ist solltest du das vielleicht zuerst versuchen. Ich bin früher mit Thrustmaster T-Flightstick X (nicht HOTAS ver.) mit POV-hat-look geflogen. Das reicht für Mavericks, TGP/CCRP, einfache sachen. Aber für die interessanteren Manöver brauchst du sicht zum Ziel und wir fangen mal besser garnicht vom Luftkampf an. :) Nach den ersten 2 Minuten mit TrackIR war mir eigentlich schon klar das es sich voll gelohnt hat, kann man nicht annähernd bei jedem Produkt sagen was man in so einer Preisklasse kauft. edit: oops, Sniped by Derby und hat das auch noch viel besser gesagt. :P
  23. 2. What Doughboy said, but something else very important: Every radio has it's own HOTAS shortcut, FM, AM & UHF. When you dial in an ATC on the AM radio you have to open the AM radio menu via the correct shortcut - check your Keybindings and make something with a modifier on your joystick. 3. Correcting camsr: Afaik the correct path to the alignment page is NAV->Align. If you don't change anything the CDU page won't change & ground alignment will start on the ground. If you move your aircraft before this is done - the ground alignment will fail and have to restarted. You can do a Inflight Alignment -> INFL or something like that. You can move your aircraft while this mode is running but it takes longer. (The number Doughboy talks about has to go higher) edit: After you did either alignment fully, press the NAV button on the CDU and the EGI button behind your stick.
  24. First of all the single most best advice anyone can give you is go into MP and join the respective TS server. It's not only way more fun, but the best learning expierence you can get. But on most servers you will be expected to have some very basic understanding of your aircraft, like start up, landing without pooping on the runway etc. I can see where the OP feels the Hog can be overwhelming, especially with the controls. The setup of controls IS complicated if you don't have the TM HOTAS, but quite do able. It will cost some time and nerves, but if you invest that, the controls will make much more sense to you. The first time I teached someone new in the A10, I gave him a profile and jumped right into weapons with him after start up/take off practice. Just the way I learned through tutorials. Now that I look back on that, this is maybe the wrong way to go about for some people. Maybe it's better if you only bind the very essentials like trim, nosewheelsteering, flaps and speed brakes, and you will have a more fun time playing around with landing & take offs. Just learning to fly the plane and get comfortable with it and of course get you hooked on flying this thing. :3 After that you can move forward on the HOTAS controls, TGP, Navigation and basic weapon deliveries.
  25. I don't want to derail but some part of the chat system has been annoying me to no end. When you enter the chat mode - it 'blinks' and it's active. But when you activate the clickable cockpit/cursor it becomes unactive -> You can't close it without making it active again! Now here is my problem: When you hover over the chat, the cursor has a dark colour and you need to click into the text window to make it active. (and closeable) This killed me more often than I care do admit. :3 Is it a 'me' thing or this annoying for you guys too? Sorry if I explained this badly, highly medicated right now... death over europe...! =( Edit: Forgot to say, bind your chat window (TEAM!) to a key you can easily reach and another for chat to all with a modifier. Trying to click/unclick the team/all chat may lead to the above described problem. =)
