Where does ~650 km/h come from, without MW50... :music_whistling:
-
G14 MW50 (Notes state WITH Gunpods installed so NOT ENTIRELY COMPARABLE) K4 (WITH & WITHOUT MW50) G14 Climb (Notes state WITH Gunpods installed so NOT ENTIRELY COMPARABLE) K4 Climb I will update this with G14 without Gunpods if I can find an official one.

It is very damn close  AND further more from a historical point of view the Spitfire Mk. XIV ACTUALLY engaged ME109G6 over Normandy.
-
It simply is not an excuse, why, because if we had a Spitfire Mk. XIV and you only had a ME109G6 you would be taking umbrage with the exact thing we are.
-
Don't you see the contradiction, seriously... If you can't hold your own against the P-51 or Spit in a K4 without MW50 you need to review your flying style. I don't want to hear the word balance ever and that is fortunately EDs take on this too. All I want is the correct plane set.
-
That sums it up nicely. It would have been nice to have the IXe, I still don't understand why they didn't go for this from the start. I hope that the 109 G6 (AS) or perhaps a G10/G14 will come at some point, which ever makes more sense for our maps.
-
I disagree with that, there are issues on both sides, hopefully the new DM will remove some of these.
-
Nick Grey addressed this recently in an interview with Growling AMRAAM IIRC, I will dig it out.
-
It is not historical, not in terms of the campaign/maps and aircraft currently available. It would be nice to have a late G6 to go with the Anton and a Spitfire Mk. XIV or a Tempest (Wishful thinking it seems). You say a Spitfire and P-51 flying together is a formidable combination and I agree. However is that historical? For the most part the P-51 were busy escorting the bombers at altitude. They were eventually allowed to attack the luftwaffe away from the lumbering bmbers however this was presumably deeper into the territory than the spitfires could ever hope to manage. In all the books I have read from pilots on both sides I don't recall hearing of the luftwaffe being engaged by P-51 and Spitfires at the same time, not to say it didn't happen... Just they weren't used in conjunction, certainly not the way you describe. The few times I recall reading about the American and RAF coming together was when one accidentally jumped on the other. I admit that I have read little about the P-51 in service with the RAF, perhaps RAF Spitfire and Mustang did work hand in hand... But that seems foolish given the fantastic range that the mustang could achieve.

Hi Chaps, I need some advice regarding FPS in the Oculus CV1. I have recently started flying again since upgrading from a blown GTX 780 to a RTX 2060 Super, the rest of my specs are in my signature. I have been playing around with the settings however I keep on experiencing a drop in FPS, it goes from 40-45 to 23 and then back up again. This happens in both Normandy & the Channel Map flying in a straight line on the instant free flight mission. In the dogfight missions such as the FW190 Anton Furball the FPS starts of very low around 8 and goes up to about ~23 after the Antons are killed, however after two/three restarts of the mission (Fly Again) the FPS seems to settle (but still jumps around) at 23-33fps at the start of the mission and 23-40fps after the battle. I have attached my in game settings & PD is set at 1.4. Any advice? I feel like I have forgotten to do something... Is it the maps? I can't understand why the FPS would be jumping around so in level flight...

Where have you read that about the 2060S the specs I have seen show the 2060S & above works on on Full Res whilst the 2060 (Non Super) only works up to Half Res. See here https://first-image-bucket.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/RevrbG2/SystemActive-Reverb-G2-Quick-specs.pdf I plan on giving my brother my current components at some point, it is a question of when! (Hopefully, assuming I still have a job between the B word & the pandemic). I don't really have an allegiance so Intel/AMD or Nvidia 30XX/AMD GPU rDNA2 whichever has the best offer! PS. I am still in denial over the B word!

Just preordered the Reverb G2 from Amazon Spain, £100 cheaper than the UK seller!
-
I find myself looking at the Reverb G2 as a logical next step, although it might have to be combined with a new GPU. The Index is also on my radar thanks to it's large FOV

Hi Chaps, I brought a 2060 SUPER in March at the start of lockdown replacing my GTX 780 that blew around 2017. I am now wondering if it is worth upgrading from the Rift CV1, is it worth it for the removal of SDE? If I do upgrade will I have to accept upgrading my PC as well? I had less of a boost in FPS going from the GTX 780 to the 2060 SUPER than I had expected. Thanks, Krupi

I know Ray Tracing has been mentioned but other than that is the new rendering engine more about performance upgrades or will the graphics get a boost as well? It looks absolutely stunning at the moment!
-
So true! :thumbup::doh:

Thanks for clarifying BIGNEWY & Kate

Well congratulations, I am sure many here would buy it.... great for ED up to a point... however it becomes irrelevant if it becomes another item to buy on an already steep asking price for newcomers.
-
Are you kidding me, surely they aren't going to make it a paid module... This kind of thing should be available by default, making every new feature feel like a money grab just makes it harder for new comers. I really hope it isn't the case!
-
Yes, I have to agree here. If they do another interview in the future they need to learn to let the interviewee speak not put there own spin on the answer they want. Mortified to hear about the response regarding the Hawker Typhoon, might as well forget about a few WWII campaigns/era if they just won't bother creating aircraft that have no flying examples. It was something I really didn't want to hear as an advocate for DCS: WWII and the Hawker Typhoon/Tempest  Really hope they do create the Typhoon.

P-47D - Instant Action - Caucasus - Bomber Escort - WARNING
Krupi replied to Igor4U's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
You are correct, you will need to purchase the WWII Assets Pack. I can't tell you exactly what the mission uses from that pack other than the obvious... The B17. -
Yes, so the red arrow shows the rotation of the column on the structure, whilst the blue arrow shows how the input back and forth of the column movement on the attached rod. The blue arrow shouldn't show a rotation really, more of a straight arrow
-
Awesome, I noticed on your website that Anne Gafiuk is part of your team, perhaps she spoke to some veterans when researching for her novels?
-
Hey Chaps, This bug has returned! Unfortunately my pictures are long gone, I still have the ones used to show the error I just need to dig them up. Here is one showing the stick currently the column is rotating around the mid point Elevator Connecting Rod attachment rather than around the base of the column.
