Hopefully the Ling Resistance will have those posts taken out prior to our arrival Only difference is in the movie they were just awaiting the delivery of their "special earthquake bombs" .....whereas we are waiting on aircraft delivery too! I have a feeling the raid may be somewhat postponed, better let the Resistance know...... Nice pics BTW.

+100 Far too quiet on news about the Mosquito...... -
+1 Let's hope they implement the winter textures on this map, together with a representation of the Amiens Prison. I know this has been requested from the other thread in this forum about the prison. Lets hope we will find out something when the final version is released later in Q1. Nice pic there Reflected. Btw looking forward to your up and coming campaign for the Mosquito, it would be great to have an Amiens Prison raid in there somewhere eh!

I noticed this too... big time! Seems strange to completely omit the old girl considering it is Quote :- "Our first new product of 2021 will be the impressive Mosquito. This will be our first multi-engine, multi-crew World War II aircraft for DCS World, and it will mark an important capability for future projects. The Mosquito is planned to be released into early access by the end of the 1st quarter of 2021." Only a little over 6 weeks to go until the end of Q1 and still no new information on the Mosquito as far as I'm aware since the above was posted on 8th January..... Hope it hasn't slipped or ran into dev issues...this is one bird I am really hyped for. Otherwise a great video.

Sorry I can't help with the driver for the G2 as I have a Rift S! However I would be interested to know what driver you find best for DCS? I'm currently on 461.40 (the latest one). I do have a 1080Ti though and not a 3070 but I have been getting stutters lately and wondering if it's the latest driver causing the issue, so rather than take pot luck and try any old driver if you could let me know what you have found good I may try and find a match for the 1080Ti.

I've been reading a few books about the covert special ops carried out by the RAF during WW2 using Lysander and Hudson aircraft to land agents into occupied Europe during WW2. It occurred to me that if we could get either one or both of these aircraft added to our WW2 hangar at some point it, would open up say the Channel map to simulate some of the flights these brave aircrew and their "passengers" carried out in the dead of night, by moon light. Navigating using just a map and compass to a pinpoint field somewhere in Europe, to then land in the dark with all the attached challenges this gives, not to mention being somewhat unarmed so having to dodge other players on a server to carry out the covert mission etc. this would be a whole new challenge for DCS WW2. What do you guy's think? For anyone who may be interested in finding out more, two brilliant books on the subject are "Flight Most Secret" by Gibb McCall, and "We Landed By Moonlight" by Hugh Verity. There's also lots of fantastic documentaries on you tube about the subject too. Here's a brilliant one The Night Pilot Who Helped The French Resistance | A Most Secret Service | Timeline - YouTube Leaves you in total awe of these brave men and women who carried out these missions.

That's what I thought too when I read it. EDIT : - Something else I noticed too..... no sign of the old girl in the latest "Reach For The Sky" video by ED. Wonder why? -
I agree 100%, but some (including me!) are hoping the reason that ED have just called this sub-forum "DCS Mosquito" is because we could be getting more than one type of Mosquito, not just the FB Mk VI but also possibly a TSETSE Mosquito DH Mk XVIII and maybe others too... one has to hope!. So therefore we could have further sub-forums for the different models under the broad heading of "DCS Mosquito" that we have right now. But all this is just pure speculation at the moment, and until ED decide to spill the beans so to speak, sadly that's all we have to go on for now....speculation.

Great post Bozon. Enjoyed reading that. Keep em coming.

Agree.... Meanwhile, I see lots of new screenshots of the Hind appearing today, but nothing new on our Mosquito as yet. Seems odd considering the Mosquito is releasing this quarter (within the next 8 weeks and 5 days - not that I'm counting or anything!!!) and the Hind is slated for sometime in Q2. C'mon ED, we need some Mosquito hype!... -
Good point, not thought of that angle. I would also love to see the TSETSE version included with the Mosquito, even if it's added later on down the open beta time line. Another thing that would be great to see is the option of the "High Ball" weapon for ship attacks. This would be great fun and a real challenge to master. I can see the chaos already on various servers! lol. Alas we are getting really off topic here, so maybe these things should be in the wish list sub section for now! (along with a request for the addition of the Amiens Prison on the Channel map...Hint...Hint) Back on topic, the documents the OP added are a great read. I just hope we get the Merlin 25's on our example for that bit of extra performance......

investigating Engine damage after only flying around
bart replied to canned_fire's topic in Bugs and Problems
Weird.... I've just been on the AO server and flew around in a K4 for nearly 1 hour, no issues (other than prop keeps disappearing on F2 view!). I was at 1.4ATA almost all the time. Are you guy's sure you have the prop control switch in the rear position? -
+ 1000% It should be ^ THIS ^ IMHO. The way it is now makes the old girl out to be a second rate citizen amongst the other warbirds. Looks like it's been added to the section almost as an after thought. Not to mention my OCD!. I too like Bozon suffer from the dreaded OCD and just like things to be right. This can't be a big thing to fix surely?

Agree. I opened a post here ( Kneeboard Map Scroll. - Western Europe 1944-1945 - ED Forums (eagle.ru) ) with the hope that ED will add further functionality to the current kneeboard. This would add a LOT of immersion for the Mosquito Navigators in such a scenario as you mention. Fingers crossed they will do it.
-
Great idea Vander. This would be a worthy addition to the Channel map, lets hope ED implement it.
-
Am I right in thinking there is currently no way to scroll the kneeboard map around? similar to what you can do in the F10 map view with the mouse button pressed? This would be a great feature to aid navigation in the Warbirds, some way to add a course line to it too so you can do VFR navigation using the kneeboard as a quick reference instead of hitting F10 which just kills the immersion, especially in VR. To be able to move the map on the kneeboard as you fly your route would add a lot of depth to flying missions in DCS WW2. I was just thinking if we had this feature available it would be very useful in the up and coming Mosquito. It would give a second player in the Navigators seat a real role to fill, aiding the pilot with VFR Navigation.

Good man... Once the Mosquito finally drops, if you want someone in your right hand seat in MP give me a shout. It'll be a pleasure to fly (virtually!) with you mate. -
This sounds good, look forward to hearing more on this. What map are you planning on using? (The Channel hopefully) Nice list Reflected....

Nice work, you are a talented guy.. What you said happens to be my personal opinion too, and I would guess the same goes for most on this thread! First post I see?, welcome to the forums! BTW your forum name.....you're not Ex RAF Regiment by chance?
