Pure speculation at this point but......I'm wondering if the map will be released in today's update??
-
Thanks for the update. I wonder why the external model was so bad that it needed a complete re-work? I don't think it looks that bad on the screenshots, what do you guy's think?
-
Thanks for the quick update BN. Much appreciated.
-
There's a LOT missing on these forums....no official news for weeks, and not much hype here either as ED are giving us nothing to built the hype on or even talk about.
-
No thanks, but I will take a Mosquito if you have one in your bag? On a serious note, it's nice to see a screenshot of the JDAM on the F16, and I for one am looking forward to seeing F16 progress soon. I just wish ED would give us a bit of teasing like this on the Mossie!!

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion

A "reversed screw" over here is called a "Left Hand Thread". Sadly I can't repeat here what we would call a "reversed screw"....I may get banned! Us Brits were also renowned for some of the most unique aircraft designs in the world.....any one seen a Mosquito around here anywhere Interestingly the control column with the roll axis half way up carried over to some jets too! Take a look at a cockpit photo of a Jet Provost, I wonder what the advantage of this control design was? -

I asked a similar question back in March when the delay was first announced and never got an official answer. It's all too quiet I think. ED seem very reluctant to share anything about the Mosquito, makes me wonder if there's more to this than just an external model re-work? -
On a side note question.... Am I right in thinking that we can change the TGP code via the DED, but we can't change the weapon codes? are these set by the ground crew prior to T/O and as such can not be amended in flight?
-
+100. I would love to see this added to the map. It has been asked for several times now in other threads, the main one here :- Amiens Prison - The Channel Wishlist - ED Forums (eagle.ru) The thread has been marked "Requested" so let's hope they do add it at some point, on or around the Mosquito release into EA would be great!.

For me it's more apparent when flying above the clouds or at cloud base if they are scattered and not stratus cloud. If I fly below the cloud or at low level it's less noticeable and I hardly see the issue.... although at low level it's probably because I'm watching the ground to avoid a crash!...

A humble opinion how should DSC WWII scene develop in future years
bart replied to tapi's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
+1 Totally agree. Even if they gave us an insight into the tech involved in the re-work of the external model, that would be great. Just hearing nothing at all is tough. If the Mosquito is still their next planned release, then even a little bit of news or a quick update would be nice... -
There's a really good video here DCS World 2.7 Settings Optimization Guide - YouTube by Reflected. He talks about the Pre-Load Radius setting at 15:15 into the video, as well as covering all the other settings in detail. Hope this helps.

Performance is ok with my set up, GPU temps not above 80 deg and FPS is good for me in VR. I haven't yet checked what FPS I'm actually getting but it looks smooth to me in VR. Overall much better than I was expecting. It also looks overall MUCH clearer than before, way better, considering I've got a Rift S and not a G2!
-
Well, FPS s ok for VR here, and the world seems MUCH clearer to me than before, but VR has a strange tunnel effect. Not sure if this is intentional change, it appears different on the screen view too, but clouds are great. Shame they shimmer up and down, but beta and early days. Overall great update ED, fantastic work and congratulations on achieving release.

Your download size is almost the same as I got, so I hope it's normal! lol.
-
54.5GB download here!!! at 6.0MB/s un-packing to 85GB......... I guess most of this will replace existing map files?
-
That's some change log!! "A lot of unique historical objects (Monasteries, Churches, Castles) have been added, the scenes around them have been improved." I wonder if they managed to slip in the Amiens Prison on the Channel map?, it wasn't listed in the change log but one lives in hope! Nice to see the V1 sites are on there now.......

Can we have a Sea Mosquito version for carrier landing?
bart replied to qcheck's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
I also recall reading in a Mosquito book that one reason for not deploying Highball was that they didn't want the Germans to find out the weapon existed as it was near the end of WW2 and the boffins thought that they could potentially develop a similar weapon and use it against the allies. Quote " Highball was curiously ill-fated, for it was never used mainly because of it's potential if ever the idea were copied by the enemy" Interesting..... Also apparently following the dams raid, the Germans were convinced a torpedo type weapon was used and not Barnes Wallis's bouncing bomb, so the employment method for the weapon didn't become apparent until later on. Now if ED give us a Highball version of the Mosquito, how good would that be!? I can see the chaos now on the WW2 multiplayer servers, lol. What a unique addition to DCS it would be. Hope they consider it. -
Interesting, I'll have a go later. Thanks for that. Following the alignment did you use the TGP to track the fuel tank, then auto-handoff on the H to get it to point at the target and then use Area mode to get it to lock the tank?
-
Am I correct in thinking that the TGP handoff only works with IR Mavericks, the D and G? Therefore there is only a requirement to do the alignment process on these? as the H and K Mavericks are TV guided and TGP handoff will not work with these so therefore alignment is not required? Am I right or is my thinking way off here too! lol...

When will it be released? I have been waiting for a long time
bart replied to huchanronaa's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
I see what you did there. So there will now be a Pre-order period and we get a 30% discount? instead of the 20% discount if it were to have been released straight into EA without a Pre-order period, which I guess was the original plan prior to the delay? I do agree with what you say about the work invested in the modules V's the price. I personally think the current pricing of the warbirds is about right. The Spitfire is worth every penny I paid for her. Are there any plans to use this extra 3 months development time to further flesh out the module and include some features that were planned to be added following the early access release, such as the rockets armament or the T1154 Radio units? or is it just the external model that will be re-worked during this time? Thanks. -

bart replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
If this is the case then we could be looking at a substantial delay. In last weeks newsletter on the Hind release ED said "We look forward to sharing more information closer to the Early Access release in late Q2 2021" so if our Mosquito EA release is now going to follow this then we could be looking at the end of Q2, a potential 13 week delay, the 30th June being a Wednesday which is 13 weeks today. It is what it is, either way I'm sure it will be worth waiting for... -

Thanks for the heads up. Isn't it a shame they don't convey this info directly to us here on the forums too? not everyone would have seen that on Discord......I know I didn't.
