  1. Good spot. I couldn't find it at all. I was just about to post asking where it is. Well, I guess that clears that issue up. We should have radio functionality on EA release.
  2. Good question, I'm not sure. I'll try and dig something up on it, but maybe Bozon could chime in here as he is our resident Mosquito expert. I think those radios were just fitted in single seat aircraft where the pilot hasn't got the time to fiddle with radios, so the A-D boxes were there so he could just switch channels instantly.
  3. You are correct, the T/R1155 radios are a completely different system to Gee. I was talking about Gee in reference to what it said in the newsletter about quote "The historical accurate navigation system for WWII aircraft" which I would think at a guess could be Gee. The T/R1155 you mention appeared in this screenshot released on 13th November 2020, and in the shot you can also clearly see the DF equipment SUNTSAG mentions in his post above. I would guess the pilot would have difficulty getting access to these radios in flight as they are mounted behind his seat!, so - and this is just my guess, our AI navigator would operate these radios and possibly the DF equipment for you through a radio menu or in multiplayer the second crew guy would get to play with the set once it's functionality is added sometime after initial EA release. But for the EA release maybe there will be a simplified version to allow us to communicate with ATC, or wingmen etc. until the T/R1155 functionality is implemented. But who knows......
  4. Could be Oboe, but that was mainly used for blind bombing (Oboe (navigation) - Wikipedia) most probably only fitted to the bomber variant such as the Mosquito B.IX's As we are getting the FB variant I was thinking it could be more along the lines of Gee which was a radio navigation system (Gee (navigation) - Wikipedia).
  5. Great newsletter this week. Nice to finally see some news on the Mosquito, and I for one like the list of available weapons and implemented systems for early access. I would like to know more about the "historical accurate navigation system for WWII aircraft" though. The implementation of the "Controllable AI navigator and radio operator" looks like an interesting addition too. Only downside was a lack of information on any release timeline or date for early access. This would have been nice to have, even if it was a rough time scale.
  6. Looks like she's in the newsletter this week!!!!!! New screen shots here Screenshots (digitalcombatsimulator.com) and on Silver_Dragon's thread here DCS: Roadmap (unofficial - NO DISCUSSION HERE) - Page 78 - DCS World 2.5 - ED Forums (eagle.ru) That external model detail.......awesome job ED.
  7. I agree with what has been said above about the Thrustmaster base. I found it was ok to start with, but after a few years it suffered from stiction. Not the best for accurate flying. I can't fault their Warthog stick though. It's perfect for most if not all modules. I invested in a Virpil WarBRD base and put the Warthog stick on this and it's a great set-up. The Warthog throttle is great and I have had no issues with it, and it works straight out the tin with the DCS A10-C both versions, as they have complex HOTAS controls and the module is pre-set to work with the Warthog throttle and stick. However if you do use a Virpil base you will need to set up the controls for the A10-C for your stick, but this only takes a few minutes if that. Virpil is the way to go.
  8. Far too quiet Harry.. I've got everything crossed in the hope for some news in tomorrow's newsletter.
  9. OP, what issues are you having with it? Give us a bit more detail and maybe we can help you out. Jump onto the Aerobatics Online Caucasus server and I will help and give you some tips no problem. Just let me know when you will be on. I fly it without any curves, and she flies like a dream, very light stick inputs and I can throw it all over the virtual sky. Out of all my modules, Spitfire is by far my favourite.
  10. Should be out within the next 2 weeks then...no pun intended!!! lol. (31st March is 2 weeks today and the official end to Q1!) We will see. Lets hope so eh.
  11. It's a shame that Wags or someone else from ED won't come forward and give us a rough list of the "substantial new Viper features" that are coming with the eventual release of 2.7
  12. ^^ Good post Bunny ^^ Thanks for the explanation, makes a lot more sense now. Hopefully will help OP out too.
  13. Agree 100% A much needed addition. Very strange in VR "sitting" in an empty cockpit! Something along the lines of the Hornet quality pilot would be great, with USAF gear on of course!
  14. OP raises a good point here. I too would like to see folks input on this issue. It doesn't make sense to have to boresight a Maverick to the TDC cue on the HUD, and even if we had to is there an accurate procedure of doing this without using any kind of optics as we have with the TGP? Surely the Mav should follow the TDC cue accurately?
  15. Yup, I first noticed it on 24th December last year... Looks like I did read too much into it!. I think we may have a while to wait yet.
  16. Or any info at all on the Mosquito FB Mk VI, which it being the prize in the P-47 livery contest, I would have thought today would have been a great time to mention the old girl... However at a guess I would say the Mosquito won't surface now until after 2.7 drops as this update is going to have new prop animations included in it, and what better way to show off these animations than to release a twin prop aircraft shortly after their introduction!.
  17. 1. It has been announced in todays Newsletter that the F18 Hornet will be coming out of early access with the release of 2.7, and was mentioned in another thread by Wags that more resources will be directed towards the F16 Viper development once the F18 is completed. Taking this into account can we expect updates to the Viper to step up in pace following the 2.7 release? and could you possibly give us an estimate on how long before the Viper is expected to also reach release status? 2. Any news to share on the up and coming Mosquito FB Mk VI? Should we now expect the Mosquito to be released after 2.7 drops? Many thanks.
  18. I watched a brilliant documentary on Operation Jericho on you tube a while ago. The producers did extensive interviews with Flt Lt Maxwell Sparks AFC. He was the last remaining member of aircrew still surviving at the time the programme was made who was actively involved in the raid. During the interview he said " There is a saying in Mossies, you go in fast.....and get out faster"!! Probably a good tactic to stick with in our Mosquito I think.
  19. That isn't me in the photo pointing BTW The last shot is a photo of my late father who served on bomber command as an engine fitter, that's him bottom right working on a Lancaster port outer. So as you can imagine it was an emotional day I spent with "Just Jane" She really was a fitting tribute to all who served both in her and on her and aircraft like her.
  20. The Lancaster may look a lot bigger from the outside, but inside there still isn't a lot of room! I had a taxi ride in her a few years ago, managed to bag the bomb aimers position....what an experience. A day I will never forget. If you ever get the chance to visit East Kirkby and see these aircraft I would say go! It's a wonderful place, very atmospheric and the staff are great. The main spar looking forward past the radio ops position on the left. The astrodome is the window in the roof just above the chaps head. Bomb aimers position with the front turret above. It really was a tight squeeze to get in there! Pilot's eye view. Cockpit not much wider than a family car! The dreaded main spar looking towards the rear of the aircraft.
  21. Even stranger I find is that there was nothing about the Mosquito again. They have talked extensively about the Hind, but the last time (and the first time I believe) they talked about the Mosquito in any detail was the newsletter on 13th November last year. Now considering it is/was slated to be their first product to be released in 2021 it seems a bit.....lacking to say the least? Considering - Quote "The Mosquito is planned to be released into early access by the end of the 1st quarter of 2021." they will be starting to run out of time soon. Especially if 2.7 will most probably drop on Wednesday 31st March (my non-educated guess!), they will have their hands full with that release I would think. So not much time left to squeeze in the release of the Mosquito by the end of Q1. I wouldn't have thought they would release a new module at the same time as 2.7 either, so the only other thing in the mix is it sadly looks like a delay on the Mosquito.... Some official "hint" would be nice though
  22. Hopefully the Ling Resistance will have those posts taken out prior to our arrival Only difference is in the movie they were just awaiting the delivery of their "special earthquake bombs" .....whereas we are waiting on aircraft delivery too! I have a feeling the raid may be somewhat postponed, better let the Resistance know...... Nice pics BTW.
  23. It may be worth taking a seat...... Looks like we have a while to wait yet.
