Oh I dunno, in a mission yesterday I had a guy with a Manpad who was being very troublesome, so I dropped a GBU-12 on him and that seemed to sort him out quite nicely :D

I have the same, steady nav lights in both steady and flash selections. I think it's a bug as others have confirmed the issue. I did read somewhere that if in MP and you have your lights set to flash, others can see this but you only see steady lights on F2 view.

^THIS ^ HMCS will turn the Hog into a lethal and very capable CAS aircraft. This one additional system alone is worth the upgrade 100% IMHO. Yup, absolutely. It really is a bargain. I'm like a kid at Christmas, can't wait for the release! I have a long time passion for CAS, and the Hog was the first DCS module I purchased. It's great to see that ED are still passionate about one of their first products, and bringing it up to date with more modern systems and weapons. This new Hog will keep me happy for a very long time. Great job ED!

With a price tag of just $9.99 for the upgrade you'll have to be nuts not to take this up and purchase it! Considering all the work that has gone into it, plus the added advantage of all those new systems and weapons, the upgrade price tag is VERY reasonable IMHO. I was expecting it to be much more. As for the full purchase price tag of $79.99 this, I think, is also a fully justifiable price for what is the most advanced DCS module to date. I think with these extra systems on top of all the other stuff in the module it puts it in serious competition to the F18 in regards systems modelling and detail, at least for now anyway.

Great news Wags, thanks for sharing it. Quick question if I may, will the A10-C see these changes too or just the A10-C II?
-
Ok, thanks for checking and letting me know. Looks like it's the biggest map so far in regards SSD space.

What is the download size of the map and how much space on your SSD do you need. I read on the official site it's 120GB, is this accurate?

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
bart replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
In the Kate Perederko interview during last weekends live 24hr event for Mind charity (fantastic event BTW) she mentioned that the Mosquito development is going on underneath the work on the F18 and the bug fixing. Reading into this my thinking is it's currently in active development now but not at a stage to which they can show us anything yet. This is one module my SSD is just crying out for!, I personally can't wait to see more info on it, it's going to be great flying this bird in VR. I just hope they model how small and cramped it really is in the cockpit and that this comes across when you are in it in VR. -
Hope you're right, it would be a nice surprise if it did. Especially now since the latest update has been postponed until next Wednesday the 23rd. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=273255 ED have been quiet on it though if it is going to drop this week. They said in last weeks newsletter they were working on tutorial videos and none have yet appeared.

The module!, It isn't released yet :D I'm guessing you mean the A10-C not A10-C II, as this is the latter's forum lol! Have you got the battery and Inverter turned on? APU running?, APU generator on? Then check position of the pinky switch on the left throttle, make sure its in the rear position and not the centre one (pinky switch is for external lights only though). Check the light switch positions, make sure the dimmer switches are turned clockwise. With those systems turned on they should work. Try to turn on the Emergency Lights to the right of the battery master panel, these should work with nothing turned on. There is a bug ATM which stops the position lights from flashing when you have this selected on the lights panel however.. Hope this helps...

Same here, noticed it yesterday. The nav lights stay on for me, they don't flash at all.

[REPORTED]Wrong tower Frequencies on FLDINFO page ?
bart replied to Hud5son's topic in Bugs and Problems
yes it is! I noticed this yesterday when I tried to get the tower freq for Batumi. I really hope this gets fixed when we get the A10-C II later this month... -
Great video, really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing it. Good insight into what we may get with the Warthog 2.
-
Same... A10C was my first DCS module and the one I benchmark all the others to in terms of a complete module, with all systems operative and no beta/early access status. This new one is a day one buy for me no doubt about it, and by the looks of it with the HMCS and new weapons it's going to be a real fighting machine! Roll on release!

Yup :D Thanks ED

Let's hope they haven't burnt dinner! :smilewink: Looking forward to the update too....

ney guy checking in with couple questions
bart replied to pappy boyington's topic in New User Briefing Room
Hi and welcome to DCS!. Yes DCS will work great on your 32" flat screen TV. I used a Sony 32" TV for a long time before I took the leap into VR, I do still use it as my PC monitor. I used TrackIR and it worked great with the Sony TV, don't worry about twisting your head and keeping eyes on the screen at the same time, you will get used to it. TrackIR comes with software that allows you to adjust the sensitivity of your set up so only a small real life head movement will move your in game head quite a bit. It takes a little while to set up but once there it works great. A curious side effect of using TrackIR I found was when watching normal TV I found myself moving my head to see certain angles as if I was still in TrackIR!! Hope this helps a bit, be warned though, DCS is addictive and you'll soon be wanting that latest module or map or that expensive bit of hardware that will make all the difference! It's a great hobby. -
Yes there is. It should have auto detected that you're using the Warthog throttle with the A10C as all the HOTAS settings are pre configured, mine did. However if you look in the control bindings for :- "Left Engine Throttle Set OFF" and "Right Engine Throttle Set OFF" and map these to the respective throttle levers on your Warthog it should work.

I could listen to guy's like that all day. Thanks for sharing this.

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
bart replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
With the lack of news recently about the Mosquito, I thought I'd throw a bit of speculation/wishful thinking out here.... Now we have the P-47 released into EA (loving it BTW) and the fantastic Channel Map too, I wonder if next up on ED's EA release schedule will be our loooong and eagerly awaited Mosquito FB Mk VI? If we do get a release this year, and the new damage model for the WW2 aircraft to boot, this would be a great year for DCS WW2. A great distraction from what is sadly happening in the real world. What do you guy's think? -
Agree, there's definitely bits of a new DM in there somewhere I think. I was up in the Spitfire over the channel map on a WW2 server yesterday, I did a couple of flights and got damaged on both occasions. First was hits to the engine and I lost most but not all prop pitch control, not like it used to be when the Spitfire was first released where every time you got hit off went the prop governor. This was different and I managed to nurse the old girl back to base. Second flight I got hit in the right wing and aileron. The aileron was flapping about all over the place and the stick in the cockpit was vibrating like crazy with my poor old virtual pilot holding on tight!, it looked great in VR. The vibration got worse the higher the speed I flew, which would make sense. Again I got back to base, but that's the first time I've experienced that particular damage issue. So yeah I think there are bits being added all the time. I guess Nineline will come along soon, read this and blow my theory out of the water by stating nothing has changed! lol.

Go to the control bindings and locate "Throttle (Left) - OFF/IDLE" and "Throttle (Right) - OFF/IDLE" bindings and set them to work with the Idle/Off detent on the Warthog for each respective engine. Now if you air start in the jet all will be ok, just have your throttles between the idle and max area, but if you cold start what I do is have both throttles at the idle stop and once you spawn in to the jet just move both throttles back over the off detent and this will set the throttles to the cold jet. Then run through your start up sequence and when you're at the correct rpm just move each throttle forward to the idle position and it works as the real jet would.
