Maybe you're not noticing it because the trim-hat isn't animated for some reason right now?

Don't misunderstand me, I'm very happy they're making this map. In fact I've wanted a Falklands/Malvinas scenario for a long time. Yes, you're right, no real world conflicts involving most of the current modules have taken place on the other DCS maps either. I don't need to, nor want to, reenact real world conflicts. I'm fine with "what if" scenarios. My confusion about this map is that it doesn't really allow for "what if" scenarios that make any sense or have any plausibility, unless we have aircraft that belong to potentially interested parties. By contrast, the Persian Gulf was an excellent choice. It allows for plausible scenarios involving US vs Iran and there are many aircraft that fit to both sides: F/A-18, A-10C, AV-8B vs Iranian F-14s and F-5s for example.

Sorry, but I'm not convinced by community modules. I doubt anyone is making a commercial level fully realistic module for free. Even if by some miracle we get a high standard A-4 for example, it makes no sense to plan and support a map based on this. The Harrier doesn't fit, unless we get a UK variant (which might happen as I understand it?). As for the Mirage III, correct me if I'm wrong, but wrong variant also.

I find it a little strange that this map doesn't fit to any existing or planned Razbam modules. I kinda thought the surprise might have been that (MiG-23 is a great surprise by the way). I don't find the idea of "what if" scenarios plausible either. What if what??? We have no British or Argentinian aircraft that fit even a "what if scenario". Anything happening on this map will have to be hyper-fictional, which doesn't really fit to DCS. Is there something we as yet don't know? Otherwise it would have made much more sense to make a map to compliment the already released modules.

Sure you're not confusing this with the old ACG server, with which Alpenwolf was associated? Because this certainly is an issue in the ACG server.

If this were Facebook I'd click the like button

If you backed the kickstarter you might remember that it wasn't ED that offered it. They picked up the project and are making good on all of the content that was promised by someone else. Yes, it's taking a long time. DCS modules always took a long time to develop due to their complexity. I don't know how much you invested in the kickstarter, but chances are you got much more than your money's worth already. By backing the kickstarter I got roughly three times the content I paid for.

This suggests it's not just an announcement and that they have something to show.

I've recently been contemplating buying a VPC base and grip. I see that the WarBRD base will be available soon. Is is worth waiting fo the new base? Will there be a WarBRD base/Mongoos grip bundle? Are the springs in the WarBRD strong enough for use with longer extensions?
-
Which is good, since that is pretty much how the first Top Gun was made.

I really hope that it will be an aircraft to go with the Falklands map. It will be weird if it isn't. While I would love the Falklands as a scenario, as yet we have no aircraft that fit into it. Surely there must be more coming that will justify it. I'm not too excited about an F-15E. With the F/A-18C and Tomcat & F-16C coming along, that itch is well and truly scratched for me.

This is still happening in all modules as far as I can tell.

Excellent, that's just the information I was looking for. I'm glad it works inverted. Thanks guys! Another question: Do other third party warthog extensions work with the T-50, or do I need to buy their extensions?
-
Why does the bottom of the base need to be kept above the surface? That's a bit of a shame. It'll make the stick more challenging to integrate into my setup. Is it possible to mount the stick in the opposite direction and reverse the axes? Maybe with an extension, as you can just twist the cable?
-
How would one go about mounting the T-50 base to a flat wooden surface?
-
Why? Wrong Hornet.

This is a know issue for ED, so one can only assume they're working on it. I've seen it in pretty much every module i've tried.

Why do you think that the darker airfield is more realistic? Imagine trying to spot that runway from the air. There is absolutely no contrast with the grass. Aerial photograph from google maps:

I guess we'll be getting some major updates on the Mirage 2000 if the devs are going to so much effort :)

Allow VR to be turned on and off after the simulator is launched
Boris replied to GCBraun's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I too would really love to have the menus displayed normally on my monitor, and to use VR once in the cockpit. I don't really care for VR in the menus. -
Hints and Tips for the F-5E BFM Campaign
Boris replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in F-5E Aggressors BFM Campaign
I'm surprised I haven't read about anyone else having trouble with fuel. Even if I get to the engagement area with all of my internal fuel left for the dogfights, I'm still so depleted by the end, that I can't get back home. And I have to go full burner in the fights, otherwise I'll be at a big disadvantage. Any tips? -
Hi Andre, thanks for the tip. I found your video on how to lubricate the motors, so I opened them all up and gave them all the treatment. Works fine now. Motor 3 probably jut got stuck like you said. Thank you for your quick support.

Nevermind, I realised it's easy to open. M3 is the broken motor. Wires seem to be just fine, still attached and glued in place. How do I go about ordering a replacement motor?
