The Eurofighter is to new an aircraft with too many classified systems to make a fully modeled variant likely. I'd much rather prefer a Tornado anyway.

They already have one in the form of the F-5E, but it'll certainly be awesome to have a carrier aircraft in Cold War servers :)

Can't praise RAZBAM enough for these training missions!
Boris replied to imacken's topic in Training Missions
Praise should surely go to RAZBAM for having the vision to employ the man, but the guy behind the missions is Baltic Dragon, who is widely recognized for making the best campaigns for DCS World, including the acclaimed (also RAZBAM) Mirage campaign and "The Enemy Within" (A-10C). -
What about something like this? This is what I use. They replace standard rollers. https://www.amazon.de/hjh-OFFICE-619002-Bodengleiter-B%C3%BCrostuhlgleiter/dp/B004WJDFMA/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=b%C3%BCrostuhl+f%C3%BC%C3%9Fe&qid=1556202584&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1 As for immobilizing the swivel, I've yet to find a solution that doesn't als damage the height adjustment.

Wow, this really looks amazing. I'd also be interested in getting one.

Nineline wrote in a Facebook comment that the improvements are now being tested internally on all maps.

Is custom cockpit liveries fixed in the latest update?
-
I'm considering getting this throttle but I'm concerned about the lack of three way toggles. T4 to T6 are not snap toggles and spring back to the middle, correct? The Warthog has the three way flaps switch, the three way lights switch and the three way autopilot mode switch. Is there anything comparable on this throttle?

New Virpil firmware - all my DCS binding are broken FIX in this post
Boris replied to HC_Official's topic in VIRPIL Controls
This is actually super easy to fix in DCS. Granted, you have to do it per aircraft, but you can just wait until you want to fly it and are sitting in the cockpit and it will take only a few seconds. Just go to the control configuration and select a field in the column of the controller in question. Then go to "load profile" and select the old config file in savegames/config/input for the particular aircraft. Done. -
It's only funny if it's true :) To be fair, out of the two, VIRPIL is known for being able to deliver more readily than VKB. Everything is out of stock on the VKB websites, but almost everything can be ordered from Virpil. They're also coming out with new products much faster (throttle, new bases, pedals). I won't be at all surprised to see the VPC F-14 grip to be out and deliverable before the VKB one. Also, I like the fact that their gear is Warthog compatible out of the box. Therefore I'm very happy that they're also doing an F-14 grip.

Soooo, not in the latest update huh? It's not in the changelog at least.

Sweviver does a XTAL video - this is a whole new level
Boris replied to Kirin's topic in Virtual Reality
And thus Oculus buyers also save a few bucks. You get what you pay for and the Oculus Rift is very good for the price. XTAL is the other end of the spectrum. -
You sure about this? The color scheme, including the white arrows around the trim HAT are very F-5. Also the bulge with the NWS button. The "shut up and take my money" grip :D
-
Seeing as Virpil is likely to beat VKB to the punch with an F-14 grip, I won't be surprised if we also see a Virpil F/A-18 grip before we see one from Thrustmaster.

Vibration pad/chair make it easier to fly?
Boris replied to WelshZeCorgi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have a similar opinion to many here. While the experience won't necessarily be overwhelmingly awesome the first time you try it, it's really clear what it adds to the experience once you fly with it turned off. It gives you at least some semblance of a "seat of the pants" feeling that so many say is the key part missing from flight simulators. -
Pretty much no difference except that they are completely separate and unaffiliated companies with confusingly similar names, very similar looking products and come from the same part of the world.

Can I run DCS in VR (Rift) without the Oculus Dashboard?
Boris replied to sirrah's topic in Virtual Reality
Try setting Oculus Home to run as administrator. -
Not only that, but they seem to be flying in DCS for their training.

Increasing the pixel density will help a lot with clarity, especially for reading cockpit labels and gauges. However, with your GTX980 you won't get very far before you get significant performance issues.
-
I doubt it's what we're seeing but it actually looks a lot like RAZBAM's WIP Malvinas map.

+1 on this Flying against equivalent fighters it really where this aircraft shines.
-
I agree. The A-10C is a mud mover through and through and has the most interesting mission types. You'd already be familiar with it though, if you already fly the A-10A. The Viggen might fit the profile of what you want.

Honestly, it's pretty useless to find targets. It's not even what it's there for. It's an intercept radar that assumes you already know where to point it, having been given a BRA from AWACS or GCI. On top of that it doesn't have IFF, so even if you find something on your radar screen you won't know whether it's a friendly or an enemy. You're far better off sticking your head outside of the cockpit and looking for the enemies visually. If it makes you feel any better, the Mig-21's radar is almost as useless. It's pretty good for calculating your gunsight though.

The Pimax 5k+ it's very hardware intensive. This is 100% to be expected because of the high resolution and large FOV. You do need to have a 2080 Ti to have acceptable performance. Right now it's more than playable for me, but it is necessary to turn down some graphics settings. With the 50% performance increase which is coming soon to DCS, I'm sure it will be very good. The Pimax is the opposite of no good for DCS. It's very good because it provides much better image clarity in order to see gauges and labels and better FOV. That being said, it's expensive, requires expensive hardware and base stations are not yet available, meaning you'll need to get your hands on Vive base stations for now.
