This was gone for me after completely reinstalling Windows and DCS World. Still no idea what caused it. No, I didn't go to all that trouble just to fix this one issue.

The HUD panel has green tinge, which I assume is supposed to simulate the glow coming from the light source. However, the panel seems to have a relatively high level of opacity, which results in the panel going completely green in direct sunlight. Realistically there should be no opaque elements on the windscreen that catch sunlight in this way and obscure the view.

Don't be greedy. You pancake people already have better performance than VR. :P

I'm so looking forward to the animated deck crew. It will bring real life into something that has so far been a pretty sterile experience.

Haha! I was super worried that my graphics card or VR headset has a horrible horrible glitch (in the Matrix) and was seriously about to post a bug report.

How would people be able to join a server hosting the A-4 without having the files? It would severely limit the audience of public servers.

I think this might be your problem:

You don't even need to edit the sound file. You can increase the volume in the sdef files. Every sound file has a corresponding sdef file.

Anything specific you're having problems with? To start, just follow the guide. Install Pitool and then connect the headset (USB, DP and power). It's pretty plug and play. As a former Rift guy, I was super confused about the HTC base stations. They're devil devices compared to the Rift sensors. There's only a power cable and they make a scary buzzing sound. How the hell do they connect to the computer??? Not to worry though, the HTC base station will be detected automatically. Pretty sure it needs to be set to "A" by pushing the little button on the back of the station, if you're using only one. Oh, and also install SteamVR, if you haven't already done so.

Yes, I'd definitely say it's because you're used to FBW fighters. I have most of my dogfighting experience in the F-5 and the MiG-21, and I was struck by how easy it is to dogfight in the F-14B against AI. FBW will let you thrash the stick around to hearts desire. With the Tomcat you have to get a feel for the limits.

I never got past the second mission. Even if I beat all three fighters (forcing a hard deck breach is the easiest way), there's not enough fuel to return home. This means in order to actually pass the mission and return home, you have to try and conserve fuel the whole time, especially while dogfighting, because that's where you will burn the most. This is quite a challenge. I highly doubt that this is a realistic training scenario, as they would never risk an aircraft and its pilot's life like this in real life.

You mean that whistling whine the Tomcats have in the Top Gun movie? Either that's Hollywood sound effects or could it be the that it's something that's unique to the TF30 perhaps?

I used to have two 980ti cards in SLI and did get a good performance boost in DCS (maybe about 20-30%). I do remember having some annoying microstuttering though. Did you try activating SLI in DCS using nVidia inspector? There's no boost, if you don't activate it in the drivers. You should at least see an improvement in pancake mode - no idea how it reacts to VR.

The latest non-beta Pitool does have FFR. EDIT: Seems it has been recalled due to various issues.

It seems it hasn't been mentioned here yet, but in his guest appearance on the Alert 5 podcast Wags stated quite unambiguously, that MAC will be a standalone product.
