  1. So that's what you got up to waiting for the F/A-18C to be released! Outstanding work. Something to aspire to waiting for the F-14 to arrive for some of us maybe?
  2. Max throttle on trapping, then when you throttle back, the wire pulls you backwards, and the wire will disconnect. Then and only then, retract the hook and taxi away.
  3. How could it possibly be your favorite, and yet so appallingly badly bugged? Do yourself a favour hanab, and wind it in a little. I would suggest that your posts are pretty close to becoming libel. To imply team is taking money and not providing the service you feel you deserve is unfair in the extreme. It is just a fact of life that when 3rd parties with limited resources plug their software into a continually developing system, bugs will appear, and take time and teamwork between both parties to fix. And also, stop accusing people of having vested interests when you clearly know absolutely nothing about either Polychop or people who work for them.
  4. Make sure you have the correct trim set too. At least 16 degrees is needed.
  5. I'm looking at buying a pair for myself BlacleyCole, so I'd be very interested to know how you get along with them when you have the chance to set them up. I want to continue using stick and throttle, and just use the gloves to manipulate switches and rotary knobs., so the question is, will they rotate the rotaries, and set the switches in a natural feeling way? Grabbing hold of the canopy handles in the Hornet on cat launches would be cool too. Thanks for the feedback so far.
  6. The gun can travers 360 degrees, so using the barrel for facing is not logical at all. Hence the towing eye being the front I suspect? The revetments - well OK, you got me there!
  7. As gravity is currently defined as curvature in the fabric of space, light affected by gravity isn't deviating, it is still travelling in a straight line. Gravity isn't a force in that sense, and therefore you don't need mass to be affected by it. The speed of light is only a constant in a vacuum, and light can slow if affected by it's environment. The constant is defined as the absolute maximum limit of velocity, not that it will always have the same velocity.
  8. I suspect there is no need for differential braking in an aircraft with NWS. What exactly is wrong with using the NWS in the first place? No rudder pedals?
  9. Why would a nature lover be worried about the size of updates in DCS World? Frankly, the most environmentally unfriendly aspect of any computer game will be the power consumption. How much more power does a 4TB drive consume over a 2 TB drive over the lifetime of a PC? I have had the same drives in mine for at least 3 years. They're probably less of an impact on the environment than a bicycle! If you want to save the planet, I'd take up a less power consuming activity - maybe get yourself a plot of land, and grow vegetables? Update sizes are determined only by the amount of data that needs to change to incorporate new features, and squash bugs. And there is absolutely no obligation to download them all. Why not just download every tenth one if you are limited on resources?
  10. You failed to mention squeezing through tight gaps! One obvious advantage is the ability to fly under low bridges where the support piers are closer together. :music_whistling: :music_whistling: :music_whistling:
  11. On the carrier you may well be doing 30 knots (either carrier speed through the water, wind over the deck, or a combination of the two. It does however seem a little excessive to see vortices at that speed?
  12. I am afraid I don't agree with the majority of people regarding visibility in VR. You can easily see the ball, and it needs nothing changing. I can also easily see aircraft at around 15 miles. It has been stated elsewhere that a hi res monitor's single pixel is harder to spot than a low res equivalent. Those aircraft all start out 1 pixel in size, so a lower res view will be more visible, and sooner. Frankly I think the hang up regarding visuals in VR are simply "herd instinct" - you hear people say it's bad, so you're pre-disposed to assume the same. The truth is far from the case.
  13. Nice to see we're all in agreement :megalol: :megalol: :music_whistling: :music_whistling:
  14. For a simple module, without too many systems to worry about, as you said, the MiG-15 or Sabre are ideal. However, you might find once you get into things, they are a little too simple. I suspect the single airframe that will have the most in depth support in terms of training missions, campaigns and single missions would be the Hornet. It is still under development, and being so new, you won't see it in sales. It will however be the mainstream module for the foreseeable future, and the systems are automated sufficiently that it isn't difficult to fly. It is however difficult to master given it's versatility.
  15. They're coming, so don't despair. Wait for the Stennis carrier ops DLC. In the meantime, when a guy offers sage advice, take it at face value. The situation is what it is, and the OP wanted some assistance. What he didn't need was a wish list!
  16. You need to remove the hyphens from the start of the line. They isolate the line and make it a remark and not a line of code. For example: ---test_topdown_view_models = true to test_topdown_view_models = true Use the precise syntax that currently exists in the file, as even losing a punctuation mark will wreck the code.
  17. I understand this facility is still in development, and will be changed in due course. I expect a much more appropriate system will appear with the release of the DLC Stennis.
  18. The best thing to add is voice control - something like VAC or the one I use - Voice Attack. You just assign a phrase, add a key press, and add a push to talk button to make the system listen for phrases.
  19. We can, and do.
  20. Can we see the maths to support your theory? You have clearly spent a long time coming to completely spurious conclusions, whereas the best minds on the planet have reached an entirely different (and probably correct) conclusion. Either that, or quit using the hallucinogenic drugs, quit being out there with the fairies in vegan land, and eat some meat.
  21. Actually, the main point is that you are drifting too far. It only happens when the tanker gets the impression you are moving away. Stay close, and you'll not see any weird behaviour. So, as was stated, first, get really good at flying in formation. Forget tanking, and just stick close to the tanker to get used to how you need to use your control inputs to stick close consistently. When you have that down, get the basket deployed, and start trying the more difficult bit.
  22. I'd say he was actually saying the opposite. "Great replies" might be the clue there?
  23. That is surely a question to address to Tacview. Nothing to do with the MiG-21 flight model.
  24. It did indeed change with the last update. Real world procedures require the launch bar switch to be placed back in the up position after you have been engaged in the shuttle. If you don't remember, it is reset anyway.
  25. As stated in another thread, wait for the add on carrier module. I am sure this will be something ED will have looked into.
