  2. That's exatly what you should NOT do, especially if the target is moving at a high rate of speed. Even if the pod continiously updates the target designation all the way to bomb release, it will still only calculate the release point for the bomb to hit where the target is at the moment of bomb release. That can cause the bomb to fall short or overshoot despite laser guidance, especially if the target is moving fast. That's why you should always manually lead by designating a position ahead of the target's path of movement!

  10. Which is how you should do it anyways (especially for fast moving targets), as automatic designation doesn't provide any lead at all, even if automatic designation works. I think you have a wrong impression of how this all works together.

  12. Also die Aussage verwirrt mich gleich auf mehreren Ebenen: 1. Der maximal mögliche Azimuth bei VSR ist genau der gleiche wie in RWS. 2. Was hat Azimuth mit unten und oben zu tun? Azimuth ist links rechts. 3. Aber auch was unten/oben angeht (also die Elevation) gibt es hier keinen Unterschied zwischen RWS und VSR. Warum sollten die Dogfight-Modi da nicht helfen? Die sind doch Teil des Radars! Auf 10nm Entfernung ist bei RWS/TWS/VSR der Radarkegel so extrem schmal, das du da kaum chancen hast den Gegner zu finden wenn du nicht genau weißt wo du suchen musst. Vor allem wenn er auch noch auf einer anderen Höhe fliegt als du ist das nahezu unmöglich. Da bist du mit den Dogfight-Modi weit besser beraten. Wenn ich gegen mehrere Gegner antrete greife ich die lieber auf möglichst Distanz an. Im Nahkampf alleine gegen mehrer Gegner ist man denen recht hilflos ausgeliefert, weshalb man so eine Situation vermeiden sollte!
  13. No, 100% core utilization isn't an issue. I have that all the time when I run DCS, even if DCS works absolutely smooth and flawless. Quite on the contrary: I would be annoyed if the DCS main thread wouldn't utilize all the available power of the core its running on

  18. The Apache gun is reffered to as an Area Weapon System (AWS) for a reason. Check this real life combat video where you can see how the gun rounds often land quite offset from where the gunner was aiming: So it's not a bug, it's a feature.
  19. It doesn't look like the same issue to me tbh. To me this seems to be quite a different issue. @Tygaris has no freezes in the main menu, but rather poor performance as he uses VR, where 3D imagery is being rendered in the main menu. To me this seems to be an issue with the VR renderer, especially as there is such a big difference between OpenXR and SteamVR. I don't really see a relation to the issue that you linked there @Flappie, so I'm not surprised to see that the affinity workaround didn't work for @Tygaris.

    Dieses spezifische Problem betrifft soweit mir bekannt nur Intel-Prozessoren der Typen 12700, 12900, 13700 und 13900 mit ihren unterschiedlichen E- und P-Kernen.
