Link 4A presence and frequency assignments request
QuiGon replied to Northstar98's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yeah, that's how it was before it was even possible to set Link-4 freqs in the mission editor, which is still a fairly new feature.- 13 replies

Link 4A presence and frequency assignments request
QuiGon replied to Northstar98's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I think it just sets the carrier's Link-4 frequency listed in the Tomcat's kneeboard to the same frequency that has been set up for the carrier in the ME. That's all.- 13 replies

Nope, the TCS doesn't contribute to to CMPTR-TGT. It's not even capable of getting a range to the target anyways (no laser rangefinder on that thing). Not in CMPTR-TGT mode (LANTIRN doesn't provide data for that), but a RIO can designate a target with LANTIRN and then let the pilot drop a bomb on it just like with LGBs. It's basically CCRP with manual release. Out of my head I can think of two additional things the RIO can contribute to A/G: 1) When doing A/G attacks with guns the RIO can enable an A/G gun pipper for the pilots HUD by switching the A/G guns switch to off. 2) When doing CMPTR-IP attacks it's the RIO's job to enter the required data into the system.

Is the Viggen navigation system inertial or not?
QuiGon replied to renhanxue's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Awesome write-up! It gave me some answeres to some detailsq that I was not aware of. Thank you! -
I see. I was just wondering if it might have been on servers with generally older aircrraft that might not even be equipped with IFF interrogators (like the F1 itself). I don't know the Tempest server, but on BF80s most aircraft do have IFF interrogators, so there its definitely not the cause of you getting friendly fired. People are just too trigger happy way too often, but then blaming you for their mistakes is pretty wild tbh.

The Hornet's INS and its fix functions are still WIP and not yet fully functional.

Not your fault. On which server are you flying the F1?

Terrain object shadows to OFF, finally no stutters (High perf PC)
QuiGon replied to motoadve's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Maybe this helps (3:16 - ~6:00): -
Any update on this?

Other jets won't care about your IFF settings. They just magically check the coalition of your jet (red/blue) within the game engine and don't care about your cockpit settings. Uhm, what issue? Edit: I just noticed what you might mean: The Mirage F1 doesn't have an IFF interrogator, meaning it can't interrogate other aircraft. It's only equipped with an IFF transponder to respond to incoming interrogations, although the transponder isn't simulated in DCS and it just happens magically based on the coalition as I said above.

If you're suffering from stutters and running an intel hybrid CPU, have you tried this? -
Oh, I missed that! At least they are self aware. Now if they would only do something about it...

Two Radar Questions: Gimbal Limits and Jester's TV Bingeing
QuiGon replied to Kageseigi's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
1) I don't think there is any way for the pilot to directly view the radar gimbal limits. The RIO can see them on his DDD though. 2) Unfortunately I have no exerpience with Jester, so I'm not sure if there is some way to prevent him from using the TCS to visually identify targets. -
I can confirm this. I experienced the exact same on a multicrew sortie recently: I was playing the WSO and was in control of the TGP. We were dropping an LGB on a vehicle, which I was lasing with the TGP. My pilot notified me that on his side the TGP was looking a few meters to the side of the vehicle, so I told him that on my side the TGP is aiming exactly at the vehicle. When the LGB impacted on my laser it was actually impacting the ground next to the vehicle, where the pilot was seeing the TGP aiming at instead of hitting the vehicle where I as the WSO was aiming the TGP at.

No, there is not. What you heard there was for the Mirage 2000C, not the Mirage F1.

Very interesting, thanks a lot for sharing! It's quite mind boggling, that the official FAQ doesn't list the module's own manual as a good ressource to learn the aircraft:
-
Mit Pave Tack doch auch, oder?
-
Das können tatsächlich alle Flieger mit TGP die es bislang in DCS gibt + Tomcat mit ihrem fest integrierten Kamerasystem.

DCS Multithreading welche CPU/GPU ist rein für DCS World MT die bessere
QuiGon replied to JG11Preusse's topic in Deutsch
16 GB RAM ist für DCS mittlerweile doch sehr knapp bemessen.
