Wow real old school, tho I do use in VR. I use VR with a modified label dot so I can see targets or just use the DOT setting that ED has made Red/Blue which is even easier. I mostly only do small mission, the new F/A-18 missions work well with a PD @ 1.6 to hold 45 fps. Track IR for multiplayer so I can see the targets. Once the VR rez gets there, it will be no going back to a flat 2D screen. So for now I just enjoy it where I can with the highest PD, graphic setting and missions to hold 45 fps. Flying Case 1 and flying choppers in VR is just awesome and much easier because of the depth perception.

Yep, Multitasking is trying to do many things badly all at once.:D Or do one thing at a time in sequence well.:)

You should just be able to bind the axis yourself manually in DCS. I use CH gear, so I'm guessing you will only need to bind the axis and the fire button etc. " The profile will do the rest at a guess, so just clear out then bind what your missing in DCS manually.
-
It's all good either way farmertom I believe. I still use CH manager for some aircraft and some buttons are just bound directly in DCS. These software programs are just mimicking keyboard presses that are in DCS now, you can even export these commands out of DCS to see them. Software like joytokey.net do a similar thing for any device.

Hi rominebechtel welcome, Are you flying the A-10..? If so this aircraft needs constant trimming, unlike the F/A-18 that only needs to be trimmed when asymmetrical after a weapon drop etc.

I do it the same way learning off this old video by Excessive Headspace He uses area and puts the laser on the wheels for a better position / slant accuracy. Not sure if it's the absolute correct way to do it or just a DCS thingy. .
-
This is the latest training video / in game training on IFR landings.
-
Just be careful of angle slant, if the laser point / spi is in the middle of the tent or tank etc. The A-10 database cannot see the tent, sometimes it will mark the ground through the tent from the slant angle. I always put the laser on then spi right at the base of the target or wheel of the truck etc. Same when you create mark points for multi JDAM drop.

What can the F/A-18 do that is feature-complete?
David OC replied to Jamesp1's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Getting good at "proper" Case 1 will keep you busy for a bit... Getting ready for Case 1 Landings -
This guy was real lucky..... Good how he can laugh about it now I guess....:)

What I mean, this doesn't come under the "personal use" and would come under a different licence. "Government and commercial entities wishing to use this software in conjunction with training or demonstrator applications must obtain a license directly from TFC under a separate pricing structure and terms of use." Many trainees are using this same install. The article even goes into detail "Detachment 215 also has a digital combat simulator system designed to replicate flying a more advanced combat aircraft, such as an A-10 or F-16. While not FAA certified, this simulator allows "students" to become more comfortable with the basics of flying and simulate piloting higher performance aircraft in highly "realistic training" and combat scenarios." They possibly do have a commercial license to do this.

Yep, not reinstalled DCS in years between 3 PC's, plus copy and past and change one to a new version for testing. Full Backup of DCS on external drive. The first time I just copied and paste, then deleted the other. Backup your saved game folder C:\Users"yourname"\Saved Games \ DCS Beta etc You might need to rename it and let DCS build a new one off the new moved install. This is where your controller profiles are kept, so you can copy them back. Edit Grab the DCS.exe or DCS_Update.exe from the bin folder from the new moved install to launch the new DCS. All the different things you can do with as many installs (Copy Paste) as you like.

The video's are all OK possibly. You just don't want or need enough people thinking they need to flag them and maybe getting too much attention and looked at. TheDevildogGamer ran into trouble just using the marines emblem in the startup and has to slowly go through and remove them all, in a set amount of time iirc. Real mess.... It's just more attention that you really need from the authorities and if contacted enough, they will go over them with a microscope potentially.

Until you get trackir setup correctly that sunken neck can happen(Still tweaking). It would have been better to turn off all the axis except for yaw and pitch, much easier to get used to it quickly for a 1st timer with Tir having only the two axis at play and no sunken neck.

This is a great older video by Wags, showing you how to use the AI when flying a ground attack mission.

Yep, Here hold my beer, I've got this...:D I've got quite a few hours on in the PMDG 737, So basically a pro...:music_whistling:

If you build the AC-130 gunship. That would be a game / campaign in itself if you did it right. There were 17 million sales of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and many would love to play a full campaign shooting from the gunship. You could then in the same campaign have A-10C's come in and drop their ordnance, like they did IRL. Then you could have a side campaign with the A-10C (More sales for the A-10C) then later when combined arms is a little better, experience it all from the ground.
-
The forces and speed IRL, could very much overwhelm you, these guy's have trained all the way through, on many different aircraft before flying a fighter. So are very prepared for the sensations. You only need to to see the skills needed and not to get overwhelmed. Then there's is this guy with NO training and managed to land this small aircraft at night. That's impressive...

Be interesting to check the carrier. I would think this should be setup right in sim. I read a pilots comment somewhere that said it all. It's like trying to flying your head through a box that's only 3 feet high.
