You meant with NWS, didn't you?
-
Hi Guys, it was good news for sure, but what was the original bug? Thanks
-
It is rather making it seem even longer...
-
I hope it will not seem as nitpicking, but we are mixing up some nomenclatures big time here. "Setting SPI" does not designate a target, it's designating a sensor. When you do, that sensor's target location is the SPI, wherever it happens to be pointing. "Setting SPI" definitely designates a target (Sensor Point of Interest). You probably meant rather setting SOI (Sensor of Interest), if "it is designating a sensor" as you wrote it. "SOI" is kind of a "which pen I will want to use to draw a point on the ground", and SPI is the point you in fact put down on the ground. You can change your pen (SOI) whenever you want to, but as long as you do not draw a new point (SPI) with your new pen (SOI) on the ground, the "previous" point is still the SPI. The ONLY place that confirms what sensor is set as SPI is the data block in the lower left of the HUD. Again, a sensor can be only set as being SOI (pen). Then you make a SPI (point) with the SOI (pen). When you press China Forward Long, TGP, TAD and MAV are slaved to the location of the SPI sensor "...are slaved to the SPI, set by the (then) SOI. " When you're in CCRP mode, the guidance cues are for the location of the SPI sensor Again, the "SPI sensor" is the SOI. "Location of the SPI sensor" is the SPI. When you set SPI as STPT, you're using the EGI as a "sensor', and it can provide the same above functions. You can set STPT as SPI, or set SPI to STPT. "...You might be able to use it as a weird "CCIP" mode for JDAMs by using the gun pipper as the designator setting their target. I haven't tried this and that's a pretty strange use case..." What's the advantage of using the gun pipper as SOI, instead of the much smaller DTS slaved to the flight path marker (or velocity vector) to set SPI for a JDAM? Actually both is impossible unless you want to fly close enough to visually locate your target, sacrificing JDAM standoff (altitude and or distance) in the designating process. I think using the IFFCC as a SOI is much better to use for a gun run, to fine tune your gun aim, looking at the TGP. Again, didn't meant to nitpick.

Launch Bar functon Extend<>Retract should be reversed?
Razor18 replied to Razor18's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Nope, the TM HW Throttle, altimeter switch. But I don't use TARGET at all... -
Hi, not a biggy, but if you now assign the new Launch Bar function "EXTEND<>RETRACT" to a two way switch, then if you switch your physical switch ON (whic means UP), the Extend ("Lower") function comes alive. If you switch it OFF (physically down), the Retract function comes alive. In the Hornet the switch works the other way around, you switch it "up" to Retract and "down" for Extend. So switch function should rather be (ON=) RETRACT<> (OFF=) EXTEND, to match cockpit switch movement. Or you could add in this command too. Thanks for considering !

Today's update allegedly fixed it. Yay !

reported earlier CCIP of F18 is inaccurate for me
Razor18 replied to FrostLaufeyson's topic in Bugs and Problems
You mean the flight path marker, a.k.a velocity vector, right? -
I guess it is showing your lift vector (or the "plane" thereof) for reference when in steep turns.

reported TK PRES LO above 20k feet with empty centerline tank
Razor18 replied to Nealius's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just poking in the dark: sure your probe was fully closed? -
Thanks for the inputs

Hope it's not a stupid question: will ED give us some kind of "last day" notification, before Pre-Order option ends (and Apache rolls out)?

Compass additional white marks function?
Razor18 replied to Razor18's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Now I can access it too. Link was corrected exactly 6 minutes before your klick. @Dawger, Thanks for the clarification ! -
Compass additional white marks function?
Razor18 replied to Razor18's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Yeah rrforce, this sounds much more promising. However link can't be accessed... Could you please check? Hope it's not just me... -
That would be pretty obvious from "CHECK SEAT" fault message on the left DDI as soon as you push up the throttle for takeoff... but maybe I'm wrong...

Compass additional white marks function?
Razor18 replied to Razor18's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Ha ha... so you say no particular function or usage, just a simple geometry class for pilots who cant read the numbers on the gauge? Declassified german radio traffic over Schweinfurt: ....sssssst "Red 2, do you know how does 30 degrees look like?" "Two to lead, erm.. negative!" "Lead to Two, there are two white marks on the top of the compass, left and right from the heading reference mark. It's there for you to memorize it. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT look at the numbers on the compass !" "Roger, Wilco !" -
Hi Guys, anyone happens to know, what is the actual function of the two additional white marks left and right 30° from the heading reference line on the compass? I surmise it's not just for you to know where is 30° left and right... Right?... Thanks
-
Sure, thanks for clarifying !

Oh, so no TDC is needed anywhere along the alignment procedure now? Just Cage Long (2.5+ sec) for rough alignment, then Cage short and Cage short for X/Y and Roll? Good to know.
-
As Bunny Clark said, but for a starter, what do you use now for antenna elevation change anyways? Also, it's worth checking key bindings after every DCS update (unfortunately), because they tend to screw up perviously flawless keybinding by adding new faulty ones.
-
Setting a curve does not change engine response time at all. It just shifts the in game throttle reaction or status away from the physical throttle position. Other than the detent synchronization, I do not see any use in changing the throttle curve.

Yeah, TARGET sucks...
