I agree and would very much look forward to it myself!!
-
Now imagine doing that in a SeaFire or Corsair from the deck of a CVE!!
-
Oh PLEASE don't do that! He's the best pusher in the neighborhood and always comes through for me in a pinch. I don't think I would survive for long if he were to be taken in and locked up. If they do grab him, I hope they let him take his laptop into the slammer with him.

While I have no idea whatsoever the difference in complexity between modeling (simulating) an F-5E versus an F4U-1D or -4B, it seems to me that ED, or in this case Magnitude 3 LLC, is missing a golden opportunity to take advantage of the late 40's through late 50's in terms of the various aircraft that participated in both WWII and Korea, not to mention those other brush fire wars in Africa, the Middle East, Indochina, indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, India/Pakistan, South America and China, not to mention the Cold War. The variety of scenarios is almost limitless and would open up a huge market for ships and ground forces that would compliment that time period for either or all sides. I also doubt very seriously that the popularity ($$) of the challenge of the carrier operations has been lost on anyone in this community. I have great expectations for this era of aviation to come.

OH BABY!! C'mon funny feelin' !!!

A CVE for the Corsair and any other US Navy carrier planes would be a priority of mine however anything from that era would be gladly accepted!

That's just beautiful man!! Thanks Donny, you've made my month!!

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
AG-51_Razor replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
I'm very excited about the prospect of having the Mossie in my hanger gathering dust after a while!! But seriously, the bomb delay should be a "thing" for all of the planes that can carry bombs. From Jugs to Ponies and Spits as well as the 109's and 190's. -
Dude,...... Donny, ya gotta help me man!! I'm dying here! Just throw me a little bone. I need a fix something fierce and it's been a month now. I'm bouncing off the walls man!! Please! Any little bit will help. I gotta have my A-7 juice!!

Use of Effects static objects on ships
AG-51_Razor replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Unfortunately, it is ships that are moving (under way) that I would like to put the smoke effect on. I even tried to use a moving zone with the triggered smoke and it would not stay on the ship. It is just left floating in the water like the smoke effect is. In my opinion, the smoke effect would be better because it does not go out in 5 minutes after it is spawned. -
I think that it would be very useful to allow the mission builder to place the smoke and/or fire effects on an AI ship, which is under way, to simulate damage that has been inflicted. Would this be possible for ED to accomplish without too much trouble?

Douglas A-26 Invader/B-26K Counter-Invader
AG-51_Razor replied to VFMFlyer's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I agree that the Black Widow would make a great addition to DCS WWII however, as interesting a plane as it was, I feel like the Douglas Invader would lend itself to a much wider audiance within DCS World. Not only was it an excellent medium bomber in WWII, it operated very successfully in Korea and several more conflicts, such as the Bay of Pigs operation, Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia and several other operations throughout the African continent. -
Douglas A-26 Invader/B-26K Counter-Invader

The Invader would definitely get my money!! -
Although I can say for sure that the mission of mine counter measures holds no interest for me whatsoever, the regular old CH-53E with refueling probe would be an absolute first day buy for me! As an old heavy lift helicopter pilot, I can tell you that there are two things in that role that are just universal; you never have enough power to lift what they want, and you never have enough fuel to take it as far as they need!
-
Anything with a tailhook will get my money! The mere act of launching from a carrier in really crappy weather, and then executing an instrument approach back to that carrier is all I need to feel like I got my mony's worth out of a module, provided it is done with the kind of fidelity that the Hornet, Tomcat and SU-33 are. Whatever takes place in between time is just icing on the cake for me!!

The attraction of a plane like the Kingfisher to me is not so much the plane itself but the feeling that DCS or one of the 3rd party developers would surely include the details of the catapult launch and crane recovery, in addition to the flight model, both aerodynamic as well as hydrodynamic, to make this a truly unique simulation experience. This is why I put the PBY Catalina on the wish list, knowing that DCS wouldn't do a half a$$ed job on that beauty!
-
+1 That would be a hoot!!

There is just something particularly beautiful about seeing an F4U-4 or -4B sitting on the flight deck with it's wings folded in a pack of several more waiting for the order to start engines. The symetry of the 4 blades versus 3 is much more appealing - to many it seems. Think of seeing an A-37 Apache sitting on the tarmac next to a P-51B and you might understand what Stratos is getting at.
