Awesome work Donny!!

Beautiful!!

The REAL trick will be to see them develop a truly amphibious plane such as the PBY Catalina or the Grumman J-2F Duck or the Supermarine Walrus!

Actually, 2 wishes; 1) Would it not be possible to have a few more Tanker Callsigns? 2) This one is a little more frivolous I suppose. Can you have the tanker recognize which player is requesting the rejoin? Mother gets that courtesy, I should think that the tanker deserves the same respect. :smilewink:

This is one of the few modules that, despite the lack of a launch bar, tail hook or folding wings, will be a first day buy for me! Looking forward to throwing my money at you RAZBAM!!

[ME-MOD] Coalition Modification and Information
AG-51_Razor replied to Grimes's topic in User Created Missions General
You are absolutely right Grimes, it works like a charm! Thank you very much for this mod!! I just assumed, after reading the thread, that it was broken back in August and had not been fixed. Anyway, it installed just exactly as advertised and works just as you said it would. Thanks again! -

Is there a way to modify the .miz file in order to add just one country to a coalition? -
[ME-MOD] Coalition Modification and Information
AG-51_Razor replied to Grimes's topic in User Created Missions General
This is such a useful MOD! Why is it so difficult for ED to incorporate it into the ME? It would seem to be in their best interest as they move forward with more and mor content that can be added to previously constructed missions and campaigns. :helpsmilie: -
It's not just you!!

Not a fan of this new format. :(
-
Definitely not a fan of this new format but, like some others in here have mentioned, it was most likely done out of necessity and not just so some FNG at ED could put their finger print on it and claim that they are doing something! It is what it is.:(

It helps being a rotorhead, to develop that virtue of patience. It takes so dang long to get anywhere!! :megalol:

I too was an "early adopter" as in, first day buy, and like Sublime I was extremely disappointed. As a professional helicopter pilot of over 10,000 hrs including one whole hour in the Gazelle, I found it to be so far out of whack and frustrating that I put it away after a very short trial. The Mi-8 is by far, my most favorite helo in DCS World and I have them all. A squad mate of mine has indicated that he is planning to make an all helo mission and was inquiring as to the level of interest in our squad, if any, there might be. I started thinking about the Gazelle and wondered if anything had changed in the years since I last banged my head against the wall with this module. I took it out for a spin this morning and all I can say is, "WOW!!" It is actually flyable now (as far as I am concerned) and has turned into a very enjoyable helicopter flying experience for me. I'm glad I bought it and I am glad I decided to take it out of moth balls for another trial. I'm having a lot of fun with it now. :joystick:

fixed Spawning on cats - can't remove chocks
AG-51_Razor replied to StandingCow's topic in Bugs and Problems
Myself and several of my squadmates have experienced this in MP missions as well. Fairly annoying as the only way out of this is to try to choose a different slot. It is also curious that this regularly occurs when there are quite a few open slots on the carrier deck for a "ramp start" plane to spawn onto. -
+1

As much as I feel that the original post is an excellent idea, I can live with the way it is now but with one exception. Could ED make it so that when a mission builder places a client operated plane on the carrier for a "ramp start", it doesn't spawn on the catapult? When this happens, you are sitting there in a cold dark plane with the chocks in place, launch bar down and in tension, and the Shooter is twirling his hand in the air! You can't get the crew chief to remove the chocks (I suppose because the launch bar is down) and you can't raise the launch bar because it is already in tension. The only way out of this that I have found is to hit ESC and choose another slot. It doesn't seem like a very difficult thing for ED to do to just not allow "ramp start" a/c to spawn on any of the catapults. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=282814

????? A miss print no doubt....right?

A Navy Phantom would definitely be a first day buy for me!! It would look so sweet on one of HB's Forestal class CV's!! :pilotfly:

I couldn't agree more! Can't wait to see this in the 3rd Party Developer's section. That will make it seem so much more real to me!

I've read several personal accounts as well as having seen several HUD videos of pilots in a/c without ACLS landing in WX where the ball is not in view, or at least discerenable in the video, until literally seconds before crossing the round down. It's true that these type of approaches are a danger to the pilot as well as the carrier, but they are carried out nonetheless when there is no alternate available. This is one of the reasons I believe, that Naval Aviators enjoy the reputation they have as.....massive alcoholics!! :megalol: Seriously though, my Dad was a Naval Aviator back during WWII and Korea and I have a very high regard for him and his fellow aviators that trained for that kind of precision and carried it out on a daily basis.

Smaller inputs? Don't forget that, as you get closer to the boat (or runway threshold for that matter) the "cone" is getting smaller and smaller so use very small inputs to correct a deviation. Are you building the mission yourself? If so, try putting the wind off to the left of the final bearing. This will help eliminate crosswind components on final. Test it by going to the LSO position and looking at the carrier deck icon to the left of the PLAT screen. A number with an S or p indicates a crosswind component from either starboard or port. If you are flying these landings by hand, you need all the help you can get.:joystick:
