  1. 69. Been flying sims since my first computer, an Amiga 500, back in 1988. :pilotfly:
  2. Myself and several of my squadmates have experienced this in MP missions as well. Fairly annoying as the only way out of this is to try to choose a different slot. It is also curious that this regularly occurs when there are quite a few open slots on the carrier deck for a "ramp start" plane to spawn onto.
  3. As much as I feel that the original post is an excellent idea, I can live with the way it is now but with one exception. Could ED make it so that when a mission builder places a client operated plane on the carrier for a "ramp start", it doesn't spawn on the catapult? When this happens, you are sitting there in a cold dark plane with the chocks in place, launch bar down and in tension, and the Shooter is twirling his hand in the air! You can't get the crew chief to remove the chocks (I suppose because the launch bar is down) and you can't raise the launch bar because it is already in tension. The only way out of this that I have found is to hit ESC and choose another slot. It doesn't seem like a very difficult thing for ED to do to just not allow "ramp start" a/c to spawn on any of the catapults. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=282814
  4. Oh Baby!! C'mon funny feelin' !!! :pilotfly:
  5. ????? A miss print no doubt....right?
  6. A Navy Phantom would definitely be a first day buy for me!! It would look so sweet on one of HB's Forestal class CV's!! :pilotfly:
  7. I couldn't agree more! Can't wait to see this in the 3rd Party Developer's section. That will make it seem so much more real to me!
  8. I've read several personal accounts as well as having seen several HUD videos of pilots in a/c without ACLS landing in WX where the ball is not in view, or at least discerenable in the video, until literally seconds before crossing the round down. It's true that these type of approaches are a danger to the pilot as well as the carrier, but they are carried out nonetheless when there is no alternate available. This is one of the reasons I believe, that Naval Aviators enjoy the reputation they have as.....massive alcoholics!! :megalol: Seriously though, my Dad was a Naval Aviator back during WWII and Korea and I have a very high regard for him and his fellow aviators that trained for that kind of precision and carried it out on a daily basis.
  9. Smaller inputs? Don't forget that, as you get closer to the boat (or runway threshold for that matter) the "cone" is getting smaller and smaller so use very small inputs to correct a deviation. Are you building the mission yourself? If so, try putting the wind off to the left of the final bearing. This will help eliminate crosswind components on final. Test it by going to the LSO position and looking at the carrier deck icon to the left of the PLAT screen. A number with an S or p indicates a crosswind component from either starboard or port. If you are flying these landings by hand, you need all the help you can get.:joystick:
  10. Absolutely agree. Anything is much appreciated! :pilotfly:
  11. +1000!
  12. Fair enough Sir. Thank you for the response - and thank you for SRS!
  13. Ciribob, just out of curiosity, why can you not respond to support questions on this forum? What is the point of this DCS Simple Radio Standalone thread if all you do is refer folks to a Discord channel? I don't have a problem or question but I also don't have Discord any longer and would be lost if your response to me posting with a specific problem is going to be "Please use Discord for SRS for support https://discord.gg/Ajzxqxj " Just curious.
  14. Can you look into the ME and see what the country of the AWACS is? I have discovered that, at least in my case, the problem lies with the country that the AWACS belongs to. I had "Combined Joint Task Forces" selected (don't ask why) and he would respond with vectors to tankers, home base, tell me that the picture was clean - all as long as there were no bogies. Once a bad guy showed up, he would clam up and refuse to respond at all. I am thinking that his electronics are still functioning because the bogey is shown on the SA page on the edge of the 160 mile ring, so at least he's seeing them. He just won't give BRA calls or even respond to a request for bogey dope. Change him to USA and he talks his damn head off!! Again, a big thank you to Flappie for helping me solve this mystery.
  15. I ran the one with the Hornet and quickly called him for some Bogey Dope and he quickly responded with "Clean". Then when the Mig spawned in, he immediately gave me a BRA call. I am going to go back to the mission I made that started all this and change the frequency to 251 and several others to see if that makes a difference. Thank you again, Flappie, for looking into this for me.
  16. I thought about the frequency assigned to the AWACS as possibly being the culprit because we use 139.000 VHF for our AWACS but then I discounted that because, as I stated originally, the AWACS will answer with a "Clean" response when all the enemy a/c are gone so he is able to communicate with us in F/A-18s, just not while there are enemy a/c on the map. I will download your missions though and see what happens. Thanks Flappie.
  17. Thanks Flappie! Here is what I have found. First off, I never fly the F-15 so when I got into it, none of my controllers worked and the plane just started rolling and heading for the ground. I figured the easiest thing to do would be to just switch the F-15 for an F/A-18, which is what I fly most often. Started the mission and called the AWACS as soon as I saw the notice that the Mig had spawned in and got crickets! So, I went into the options and set up my controls for the F-15 and started the mission again. Called the AWACS after the Mig spawned in and got an immediate response with a BRA call. This is very interesting.
  18. Not entirely certain that this is a Syria map problem however we have not had this happen on the Persian Gulf or the Caucus maps. The issue is that when there are no enemy air (Red) a/c spawned into the mission, AWACS will respond to a call for "Bogey Dope" with "Clean". As soon as the enemy a/c are on the map, AWACS will no longer respond to anybody for any reason and as soon as the last enemy a/c has been dispatched, AWACS is again happy to respond with "Clean" or give directions to base or nearest tanker or whatever. Has anyone else noticed this??
  19. Same here Eldur
  20. I voted "yes" only because, if I were into Russian naval aviation as much as I am into US naval aviation, I'd be more than happy to pay for a Kuznetsov that was equal to the SC in terms of features like the LSO station, functioning elevators, JBD's, arresting gear animation, lighting and all the rest that is slated to come out eventually. That would be a fair deal as far as I am concerned. However as it is right now, I would not be willing to pay additional money for the graphics improvement alone.
  21. It's been requested, begged for and put on more wish lists than you can count!!
  22. Yeah, and when you set it to 20, it's 40+ at 1600 feet!!
  23. Does Brazil still operate a carrier? Has he ever qualified aboard a carrier?
  24. Most excellent!!
