  1. Maybe that is because you only get to see them from the ground instead of actually flying through them? :music_whistling:
  2. I agree that this feature is quite impressive but I have found that I need a meteorologist to figure out how to set it up, ESPECIALLY if I am trying to achieve specific weather conditions in specific locations on the map. Additionally, until we have realtime control of our carrier, it is not a good thing to set up dynamic weather if you don't know what the winds are going to be 20, 40 or 60 miles down the road!
  3. Not being a programmer, I have no idea what the technical issues are but having poked around in a few .lua files, I see many places where a/c are given specific attributes such as country, or tanker, transport, helicopter or fighter. It doesn't seem to be that huge of a problem to identify every a/c that uses a boom recepticle and every one that uses a probe and apply those lists to the MPRS such that it would deploy the boom or the basket depending on which type of a/c is calling for fuel. DCS knows who is calling, and the tanker knows. It just doesn't seem to be that difficult, but like I said, I'm no programmer.
  4. I am not at all interested in seeing an improvement in what the clouds look like now. In fact I am quite happy with the "look" of the various weather features as they are. I am much more interested in being able to have different weather on different areas of the map as well as at various elevations instead of the completely uniform patterns we have now. And of course this needs to be, as Hawkeye_UK mentions, synchronized with all the clients in the game. I'm pretty sure that ED is working on something like this, I'm just curious about their progress, if any.
  5. This is of huge interest to me as well
  6. I don't see anything negative in your post at all. Drive on Skatezilla!
  7. My squad just flew a mission night before last where we departed Case I and recovered just as the sun was setting. Two planes checking in, and the first one was given a Case I clearance and the next one was told that Case III recoveries were in effect and he was given holding instructions and an EAT. We have noted various gaffes here and there but over all, the whole carrier environment has improved immeasurably with the SC compared to the Stennis. I am a very satisfied customer overall and I have no doubt whatsoever that things will improve greatly.
  8. I would advise that you just make a habit of always joining up in the observation position and then moving over to the pre-contact position. If for no other reason than it is the proper thing to do but a better reason is to prevent yourself from a midair collision should you misjudge your approach speed, which is probably why that procedure is a requirement in RL.
  9. Thank you Rudel! I don't know how I missed that. Great update!
  10. LOL!! Thanks for that, even if it is very old news. I was hoping for something new from them. Oh well, I guess I'll slide on down to the clinic and dry out for a while longer. :megalol:
  11. Man oh man! I'm really starting to get the shakes and night sweats here fellas. Can you hook me up with just a little Hog fix? I mean, just a little one, like a picture of the prop, or tail wheel with the arrestor hook attached? I'll gladly pay you Wednesday for a fix today!! It's been a couple of months now and I am really hurting!
  12. What are the drawbacks of using 1.9.0.0 going forward? Is it a beta version that 1.8.0.6 will eventually catch up with? Is 1.9.0.0 the next version that 1.8.0.6 is going to? I am a very confused but satisfied user of this utility.
  13. Is there a way to roll back to 1.8.0.6 without deleting the whole thing first?
  14. Do you have Waypoint boxed before you select Waypoint Designate?
  15. Hopefully some progress has been made within the past 30 days that y'all can point to. No pressure, just wondering is all. :music_whistling: There are many Corsair II lovers in here that are anxiously waiting for the day we can start throwing money at you!! :pilotfly:
  16. Beautiful work!! Can't wait to download this mod
  17. Worked like a charm Suntsag  Thank you very much!
  18. Suntsag, you ROCK!! Thank you for all you do for this community!
  19. I replaced the Jug with the Pony and it is referred in the radio communications to as an F/A-18 and shows up as one in the text on the screen as well. Very strange. Unfortunately, that didn't help.
  20. Suntsag, thanks for looking into this for me. I am in the Jug for this particular mission although I will see if it works for the Mustang as well. My aim is to develop missions for my squad where we can perform air to ground attack missions by calling on a FAC to mark the targets. As you surely know already, it is nearly impossible to find tanks, artillery or just vehicles parked along hedgerows by flying around at 10-15000 feet, which is fairly historical. I really appreciate your help with this Sir.
  21. One more thing, I have been getting these same results with a WWII soldier OR the Modded Willis Jeep from Suntsag's mod.
  22. In first test, I changed the tank to a halftrack and got the results that I was looking for - a complete FAC response to include smoke. Next test was to add additional vehicles (tanks) to the halftrack group and was told there was nothing for me here, go on home! In another test, I had an assembly area filled with several armor and arty units but had the FAC set to engage a single truck. He began calling me in but when asked if I was ready for remarks and further talk-on, he clammed right the heck up! Very frustrating! I am pretty sure that it is something that I am doing wrong and I just can't seem to be able to figure it out.....yet. :joystick:
  23. I couldn't possibly agree with this "Wish" more!! I believe that the campaign in the Solomons, from Guadalcanal to Bouganville represents a tremendous opportunity for ED to provide a battle ground map that would allow for carrier vs. carrier battles as well as fierce air to air combat throughout the island chain, not to mention the air to ground/sea combat that took place almost continuously from the first day of coming ashore on Guadalcanal until we were done with Bouganville. And the Corsair played a significant part in that campaign. The aerial opponents there were almost exclusively IJN If ED wanted to shift further West, they could do New Guinea and produce a Razorback Jug for that  The aerial opponents there were almost exclusively IJA.
  24. Thanks Olddog, I'll try that!
  25. Suntsag, I have been having a hell of a time trying to get Joe Snuffy (a WWII rifleman) to act as a FAC and then a guy in my squad found this in the Mods Section. I downloaded it and installed it (v2 and saw no option to fold the roof down, not that I care about that) and still cannot get the unit to mark a target for me with Willie Pete! I have the unit acting as a FAC, Invisible and Immortal, and his ROE is Weapons Hold. I have set the frequency and given him a callsign. When I call him up, he answers and either tells me that there are no further targets and that I can go home, or he will answer with the usual JTAC stuff and when asked if I am ready to copy notes and further talk-on, I answer that I am ready and he just doesn't respond any more. Can you explain how you got that Willie Pete to show up in that little video you did??
