VKB / VPC all the way. Their gimbals are superior to warthog providing a much better precision. I own Warthog and VPC... so that I am speaking based on my personal experience.

I am glad DCS expands their airplanes types. I hope this is only the beginning and DCS will manage to get some of the civilian pilots into its world. What is most important is that anybody is free to choose if want this module or not! So thank you ED ... you are on the right way. Hence, it is one more think you have to work hard: timelines. As far as I am concerned I took a pause in playing it more than one year ago, waiting for 2.5 ... I will resume playing it once 2.5 will be out.

I just gave in waiting for this. I really think the DCS default sounds are the best. Anybody trying to redo those are extremely challenged and I think Jaffa is no exception :)

Yes, sure! All other games have voice commands built in and only DCS is not compliant. C'mon, be serious, be realistic... learn to adapt. There are several great voice commands programs which can transform any of your games. You will pay once and have all games with voice commands... which is way better then doubling same effort by all game developers and paying extra money each time. Wake up people! DIY era has begun some time ago and is far to be finsihed!

If you ask me the monitor preferences then the order would be: 1. 2k 144HZ 27" - tested personally best balance for resolution/size/compute power/price 2. 21:9 - 3840x1440 - 100Hz - next gaming wise monitor 3. 4K - bigger than 28" - even it have a great image quality is not really the most appropriate for gaming - tested personally

It depends only about how immersive you want to be. In 4K I found my 8Gb VRAM to be fully used and for sure the 1080TI with 11Gb will be more appropriate. If you are not so keen to have full details then you can happily go for 1070.. but the one with 8Gb of ram as well. Other sims will also use VRAM to the upper limits due to their high amount of texture used.

Great review. Maybe one thing is a bit missed. For games which are CPU hungry like DCS, Arma3 etc, the CPU effect is more visible during complex missions/scenarios and even during multiplayer. I think in those cases the 8700k will show better its muscles. My opinion is that upgrade is 100% worth it! Anyway great standing points on your presentation which I am sure took a considerable work time to complete and share with us. Thank you!

No voltage tweak and you will be on the safe side. My i54670 became unstable after 4GHz only.... so you are good @4.3

8700k is the new king CPU for gaming ... this is a fact! Besides the highest per core speed it have the advantage of best single core processing power. These features along with higher bandwidth to MB with z370 chipset (over previous intel implementations) makes 8700K a no brainer choice. I would not go with any compromise and better wait more time to cash some extra money to get it. PS: just to be more clear: 8700K ---- only this version

Small tip for those who have the screws blocked and/or destroyed: - drill the screw with a small diameter drill bit. Use a high temperature mini torch or even a soldiering iron to heat up the screw. The drilled hole helps high temperature to better dissipate to entire screw length. Everything there is metal so you will risk nothing, just be a bit careful to not torch the electronics :D The mini torch is something like this: https://www.walmart.com/c/kp/micro-flame-butane-torches The thread lock compound is generally affected by high temperatures so that you can easily unscrew it when is heated enough.

They are passionate guys conducting their own aero school and participates at almost all aerobatic shows in Romania and not only. Going now from the 3rd series to the 8th it will worth all the money. Besides the higher clock of CPU itself there is also an important advance on the motherboard technology, so that there are multiple overall imporvments. Just go for the 8th series!

if we are discussing about motor regulators and and the signal is PWM... would not be possible to use RC motors and their regulators? I know their regulators are at least 16 KHz precisison and can be found for 32 KHz with ease. Good regulators can be also calibrated according with the number of poles of the motor they are controlling. Also the power drained by motors will not be a problem at all.

I found (maybe will help some of you) the most simple gimbal that could be used in FFB joystick. Even it is under a patent I do think that can be done for home use. Easy for 3D print as well. The source is here: http://www.google.com/patents/US7061466

The stable release is 1.5 for now. When 2.5 will reach the stable release it will override 1.5. Until then 2.1 is Alpha and 1.5 have a beta version too. Quite hard to explain but my first line alone should answer your question.

Not clear for me in the latest pictures of MCG Pro: is the thumb rest button a single action button? I remember initially was said it will be 4 directions + push.
