Compared to the old engine it looks better. There is difference. But let's see how such graphics is related to the hardware demands. If they are going to be relatively low, then it is great, if not and we get 30 FPS in uber new hardware then... you know what it is.

Smth's goin' on. I have 8 GB od RAM and first time in my history, I was surprised by low memory Windows' message. Definitely there is huge memory leak.

You don't get it, do you? It is same situation in Android where it needs 2 cores 1.2 Ghz to be fast enough. Now in SGS IV we have 4-8 cores and it lags. Why? Because new CPUs are too slow? Regarding DCS it is obvious for users and ED team that overall DCS complexity makes it more and more difficult to give enough FPS using just 1 core for everything except sound engine. As long ED's products buyer and player I know how it changed during years. And my opinion? It's getting slower and slower. Just like that, nothing personal.

I think it'd need too many steps. People want just make screenshots, or take real pictures and just share them. In XXI century where gaming world mostly exist in high-tech lands (Europa, America, Asia, Australia), internet connection, bandwidth is quite enough for smooth experience even for large images. Personally I think more problems with large images eating my RAM, where after while my system is frozen due to no any memory left. Once I opened Military screenshot thread, Firefox ate 2 GB of RAM, almost everything. I had to reset system lol.

I bought it and I like it, great choppa. 3D model is fantastic :) I like to fly in coop with Ka-50. However optimization is failure. I have 8 GB of RAM, i5 3.30 Ghz, GTX 560Ti, where other games run smoothly even Crysis 3 on full details. DCS Mi-8 lags, it continuously loads textures (move head and move it back = shutter as example). I hope it is Beta symptom, and later will be smooth and overall tendency of slower and slower modules will be stopped.

Mate, perhaps there is nothing to fix in the way you think it is? Haven't you fought you may be in error as well?:smilewink:

There may be not plenty of information about progress however even one paragraph says something is going on... even if team is still doing the same as in last week there may be some other things like example.... "Yo-Yo had problems with code because of forgotten dot in the line" or "monitor exploded in front of him and there is delay"....... whatever if not weekly then 2-weekly.... monthly update is too loooong

No more weekly updates? Pfff IMHO not good decision, whatever......... Quite fat update is coming it seems in 1.2.6 :)

I changed PC after 5 years. 20 FPS which I considered fluid (especially in BS at extreme low settings) to more than 50 in full details :) It was extreme change, however DCS: World (or previous) ED's products are poorly optimized, not due to team fail, but just engines flaws. Still 3 cores are unused, I am not sure about GPU cores though.

This is why dedicated server merged with example GameSpy would be cool. DCS should have inbuilt GameSpy, Steam and other games' browsers to create servers and so on. Then if ED's Masters went down, we have others - GameSpy, Steam ect.
