  1. No, you don't. If you have a pile a cash to burn, sure, go to up 32gb and future proof the PC as more RAM never hurts. You'll not really see that much benefit for DCS though at this point. Doubly so with the recent news ED are about to release a much improved memory manager.
  2. When you updated DCS, did you delete your fxo and metashader folders in /Saved Games/DCS? It can make a massive difference if you've still got the old shaders in play.
  3. lol, no.
  4. It's a "new aircraft" implies it's more than it is. It's just a variant of the Su-27 being added with the ability to fire an extra type of missile. Bit like FC3 already has 3 versions of the Mig-29. It's essentially a quick-win, as it's using the same flight model and SSM.
  5. Close, it's a reproduction Sopwith 1½ Strutter!
  6. You know it doesn't fly at Mach 2.0 all the time right :P (Concorde has a suprisingly low stall speed, around 200mph from what I can find) Edit: I've been googling the found this: https://www.heritageconcorde.com/the-wing It's fascinating. Completely different way of generating lift via "vortex lift" at high AOA. The pics and gifs show it off.
  7. Yes please, I'd like to see a similar view to the below in DCS, preferably with a reticle in the middle :) (RAF Museum Cosford in the UK if anyone's interested)
  8. Still alive. Razbam added some more photos a few hours ago to FB: https://www.facebook.com/RazbamSims/posts/1666672040086094 Plus, Overstratos has been active in the other threads.
  9. It's the same thing some of us mentioned in the many, many wishlists: You'll never please everyone as it isn't their F-16. The forum will be...fun?...when ED announce the block they've chosen.
  10. Looks like everybody loves the D
  11. It's been the next big thing for the 29 since they announced all those years ago that the -29 and Su-27 were getting them. Hopefully it's a Wags hint of some traction on it now the F/A-18 is nearing completion.
  12. "Hello Mr Fulcrum"... -29 getting some love in the near future?
  13. Definitely missing the "none" option in the poll.
  14. Pfft. They knew exactly what would happen.
  15. You can safely delete anything that's OpenAlpha.
  16. Pretty sure Cobra already said they're going to add this as an option somewhere, think it was after the first update showing the HUD.
  17. Er, this isn't exactly news. ED have been doing an F-16 on the backburner for years, as shown by the renders they shared of their in-dev 3d model ~4 years ago. When pressed recently, Wags has said "when, not if". All that probably happening is now is that after various features have been added to DCS for the F/A-18, they're looking at it coming off the backburner. It'll probably still be at least 2 or 3 years away before it gets announced properly.
  18. Hopefully the new damage model is the next big thing.
  19. No love for the Hurricane? For shame.
  20. To add on: for a desktop sized practical example look at Bunsen burners. It's exactly the same principle.
  21. Oh noes. The sky is going to cave in!
  22. Not you is it Ren?
  23. Steam has auto-update, quicker downloads and you can abuse the refund system. Standalone pretty much has auto-update + DL's are fine if you can wait a day after each patch, so really the only thing is you trade refunds for getting patches quicker and getting EA modules. Personally, I prefer beta branch, more patching and having access to all the modules.
  24. @LP, you do realise it's now going to be Swiss skins only from here on, right? :P
  25. AFAIK it's not in front, just alongside. Super Tucano is being done by the core Razbam team, who are focused on updates to the Harrier and Mirage. Mig-19 is being done by Overstratos and his sub team (if this is still true from him pre-Razbam), inconjunction with Razbam.
