I think you need a more recent, more comprehensive poll and then...I doubt it. Not that it wouldn't be a great addition.

Yes please.

Clarification on future of WW2 Asset Pack
Gambit21 replied to DD_Fenrir's topic in DCS: WWII Assets Pack
Understood about the 'slowed to a crawl' and will ask no further for a time. However from a content-creator's standpoint there are a lot of basically essential things missing from WWII. Mobile AAA vehicles being a huge one. It's a bit hard to create realistic convoys with no mobile AAA. Ju-52 transports would be nice, even if just static etc. There are minimal AI aircraft to help paint a compelling picture. There are a lot of irons in the fire across the board, but WWII needs some growth in the assets department - it's like painting with a limited palette right now. -
I did it...do it!!

That's an odd take on the Zero, and I couldn't disagree more. The fact of the matter is (aside from it being an amazing, and very 'un-boring' aircraft) most pilots will not fly the Corsair, Hellcat...Mustang etc to it's fullest advantage and end up falling into the Zero's game. Over and over again online back in the days that's what happened, and I made my living killing over-confident Corsair and Hellcat pilots. Over and over again they'd try the knife fight, and then they're dead. By the same token I had the discipline when flying a Corsair to stay out of it's way and I was untouchable. So just depends on the pilot...but I'm telling you it's deadly, and it was in real life. It held it's own even against the early Hellcats.

Akamas bombing range...no longer in use and I believe a nature preserve now. As far as "realistic" sorties...I'm not sure what the hang-up is. Come up with a scenario where the Akamas range is still an actual range, and design your mission. That's what I did, and no magic 'realism' fairy came along and deleted my mission...go figure.

No, there's no such problem with the Zero, and there's more than one flying example around. Same with the Oscar. The problem you're repeating from elsewhere is related to aircraft like the Val, Kate, Betty, Pete, etc etc.

Hey guys, I'm working on a scripted campaign, and some skins to go with it. I'm short on time with mission building, etc etc let alone skinning, and if someone could give me a file with a completed invasion stripes layer for the D-30/Early, that would save me some headache and hair pulling trying to line things up, figure out where the panel door is etc. Any help appreciated.

He does indeed. He's been heavily into Japanese aircraft etc going back a long time now.

What we need is a surprise Zero module.

Will the F-4E module include any Vietnam era AI assets?
Gambit21 replied to upyr1's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Nah There's lots of possibilities on other maps during the Vietnam era, including "what if"/fictional scenarios etc. I know I have at least 2 ideas and neither needs a Vietnam map, even though they take place during that time. Sure I want a Vietnam map, but some creativity a lot of things are possible already. So yes please on the assets. -
Aye. From my own/content-creator's standpoint. We'd also need a selection of Japanese and Allied AI aircraft to fill things out, to shoot down, for scenery etc. Transports, float planes and the like. Mavis, Pete, Emily, Jake, Catalina etc. Once we have an AI Zero, then an AI Rufe is an easier thing to achieve. Of course a flyable Zero is the dream.

Experience on the ground I would argue is as important as the experience in the air. We start on the ground, we end on the ground, thus I would hardly call grass, plants etc "pointless" If we're flying a helo, we may never get that far from the ground at all. The fact is that it's a "the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts" equation. All of the small details add to the immersion factor, even if one detail by itself might seem insignificant.

That's because you're apparently a damn smart individual who understands the PTO.

Marianas will be a sort of Solomon's stand-in for me. Then I'll design some Black Sheep/Vella Le Vella missions. Not until the WWII version arrives of course. Early to Mid-War is where it's at...late war....meh. This Corsair will work fine for mid-war stuff.

I already complimented you on You Tube...but you're doing a fantastic job with the videos. I can already tell that it's going to be the difference between "no time to learn another jet" and feeling like I can take it on. Thank you!

Any news on the A6 AI that was shown off in-game over a year ago?
Gambit21 replied to XCNuse's topic in Heatblur Simulations
If the F-4 wasn't coming this year, I'd probably have to put myself into some sort of induced coma so that I could withstand the wait for even the AI A-6...let alone flyable. As it is...I can do it. Still...it's going to be something to behold I think...even the AI. I can't wait to watch them launch from the Forrestal. -
I know what you mea....oops there goes another one.

Oh come on. I can make an "instant action" mission in 30 seconds flat - there's no issue here. Don't expect RAZBAM to anticipate what aircraft you own, what you want to fly against etc. Or were they supposed to make several missions for every single available aircraft? It's EA, I think they're quite busy enough on the map itself. You could have made an instant action mission in the time it took you to post on this thread. Oops... I think I might have accidentally made an 'instant action' mission while I was typing this.
