  1. Nah There's lots of possibilities on other maps during the Vietnam era, including "what if"/fictional scenarios etc. I know I have at least 2 ideas and neither needs a Vietnam map, even though they take place during that time. Sure I want a Vietnam map, but some creativity a lot of things are possible already. So yes please on the assets.
  2. Aye. From my own/content-creator's standpoint. We'd also need a selection of Japanese and Allied AI aircraft to fill things out, to shoot down, for scenery etc. Transports, float planes and the like. Mavis, Pete, Emily, Jake, Catalina etc. Once we have an AI Zero, then an AI Rufe is an easier thing to achieve. Of course a flyable Zero is the dream.
  3. Experience on the ground I would argue is as important as the experience in the air. We start on the ground, we end on the ground, thus I would hardly call grass, plants etc "pointless" If we're flying a helo, we may never get that far from the ground at all. The fact is that it's a "the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts" equation. All of the small details add to the immersion factor, even if one detail by itself might seem insignificant.
  4. That's because you're apparently a damn smart individual who understands the PTO.
  5. Marianas will be a sort of Solomon's stand-in for me. Then I'll design some Black Sheep/Vella Le Vella missions. Not until the WWII version arrives of course. Early to Mid-War is where it's at...late war....meh. This Corsair will work fine for mid-war stuff.
  6. I already complimented you on You Tube...but you're doing a fantastic job with the videos. I can already tell that it's going to be the difference between "no time to learn another jet" and feeling like I can take it on. Thank you!
  7. If the F-4 wasn't coming this year, I'd probably have to put myself into some sort of induced coma so that I could withstand the wait for even the AI A-6...let alone flyable. As it is...I can do it. Still...it's going to be something to behold I think...even the AI. I can't wait to watch them launch from the Forrestal.
  8. I know what you mea....oops there goes another one.
  9. Oh come on. I can make an "instant action" mission in 30 seconds flat - there's no issue here. Don't expect RAZBAM to anticipate what aircraft you own, what you want to fly against etc. Or were they supposed to make several missions for every single available aircraft? It's EA, I think they're quite busy enough on the map itself. You could have made an instant action mission in the time it took you to post on this thread. Oops... I think I might have accidentally made an 'instant action' mission while I was typing this.
  10. That's an understatement. In the words of "Paco" Gesiler, "if you began an engagement with the MiG 23 on your 6, you were offensive against that MiG. lol That's when flying the F-15 or course.
  11. I can actually relate to this position, even though I won't actually quite do this. IF there was no such thing as the Tomcat, and maybe to some degree the Viper and if the F-4U wasn't coming...and the A6....I'd be in the same boat. So even though a few modules will still get some attention I can completely see someone dropping everything else and never touching them once the F-4 arrives. It's the F-4 after all. Both the Tomcat and F-4 are worth of "I'm only flying this thing from now on" status IMHO. You don't get more 'pinnacle' than these 2 airframes as far as I'm concerned.
  12. If they make it, I doubt I'll spend a minute in it. I can hardly wait for the E, that's all I'm focused on. Then when we get the Naval variant, that will be a ton of fun as well. Between those 2 I'm good. If I want to mess with AIM 120's etc then I'll boot up a Viper - no desire for a souped up Phantom...that's actually "less" F-4 rather than "more" F-4 for me. To each his own though. lol - no.
  13. Nah...I don't care if they never do that map. The South Atlantic map has so many possibilities...that's all I care about for the moment. Need that map. I'd rather see a Fallon map, or the NTTR map extended to include Fallon, with target areas/objects part of the stock map. I don't need another sand box. Vietnam/Laos....then let's go to the Pacific...Solomons, Philippines...
  14. Don't tell that to all the pilots who used it in dogfights and did quite well. I think it's lost sometimes that a dogfight isn't necessarily a minutes long, 'stick to stomach' turning fight to the deck.
  15. How about creating content that takes place during the 60's or 70's like I'm doing? These aircraft were still in heavy use. I find myself in the position of not being able to utilize it for scenery because it's part of the WWII AP. I own the Asset's Pack, however I can't very well require players to own the WWII assets pack just for the sake of C-47's operating in the background/as scenery in a 1970's campaign. So yes count me in the "please remove it from the WWII AP pack" category.
  16. Yeah - when it comes down to it, Marine CAS missions is what I'd be building, and what I want to fly myself.
  17. The more I think about it, I think my first choice would be a Foxtrot...that way we keep the WHOP WHOP WHOP!! factor. I can use it as a stand-in for anything else, including a Marine unit, and can be used in Vietnam era scenarios. I'll take any of them though.
  18. Forget the Zulu...but we need a Cobra...I'll take any of the others, especially a Whiskey. This stirs my blood it does...Apache not so much. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it was produced and happy for all those who wanted it. For me personally though, it's too modern and too much switchology. Bring on the Cobra.
  19. Way too much, put it on a credit card like a dolt.
  20. I had a Pentium IV with a Voodoo and ran it fine with a full field.. Of course it ran even better with later rigs with all the car updates etc. That was a fast rig for the time though.
  21. I get it. However if I had a Sidewinder failure mode/percentage menu and I set it differently in each campaign mission based on various factors - as the end user would you know any better? That’s really where the rubber meets the road. Under the hood there’s akways smoke and mirrors to some degree. As a content developer I know - it’s user experience/perception that matters.
