    Mirage Status

    Since you are talking about the CCM bug and know stuff, I think I have discovered another serious CCM - bug (boresight related?). I can lock only once a target with the boresight submode, in order to have a second auto lock I have to change to another submode. Track file provided. During the head on pass I lock the target with boresight, after the U turn, I have to switch to vertical scan to lock him again. Same thing happens sortly after, I lock with boresight, bogey moves away form scanned area and radar lock brakes, can't achieve a second lock with boresight still engaged. Don't know if this has already reported in the bug area, that's why I post this here to confirm that this is indeed a non reported bug CCM boresight .trk

    Mirage Status

    What will happen after that mentioned 3 weeks? Will Zeus develop exclusively the M2000 avionics systems until the module is final finished or development time will be shared between Harrier and the Mirage ?
  6. In my first attempt against a Mig 29A AI (excellent pilot), guns only, i managed easily to kill him.   9. As we know, the Mirage 2000 will at some point benefit from ED's AG code developed for the Hornet. Will it be also benefit from the respective - advanced - AA code?
  10. You can practice formation flying also offline. Create a mission with a AI mirage 2000, set up his flightplan , and fly next to him. At some waypoints you can through the Mission Editor select the AI aircraft to fly an orbit, so you can practice formation flying not only in straight flight but also during turns. On a side note, there was in youtube an excellent video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpVU1_7df5s, sadly not anymore available), captured during a real HAF Mirage 2000 briefing, where the flight leader explained the basics of formation flying, before a training flight : very small inputs on the stick and the throttle, he emphasized that the throttle movement should be at 1% rpm. Also the correct position for a close formation flight with a Mirage 2000 is the following : the No2 (wingman) has to align in his sight, the navigation light with the duct over the wing from his flight leader .

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, and keep in mind please that I don't have the slightest technical knowledge about creating/ moding skins, helmets. etc. I would like to fly this skin / helmet combination (cicognes squadron with classic 80's french white helmet) attachmentid=153537&d=1481931215 Already have the skin from here http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4239186/1 (the creator doesn't know to change the helmet, already asked there).     There are some systems / features missing, already posted several times in various topics I hope that to! Although they have stated that the switches , which in real aircraft are used to insert a virtual / CGI target (and in the EG version to select exocet parameters), wouldn't have much use in DCS. I think a fully functional M2000 would remain Razbams flagship for several years.
  15. Perhaps that explains also why the final development of the Mirage is (unexpected) slowed down = Razbam is focused to release Harrier in Q3 so that is enough time separation with all expected releases later this year (2.5 - Hornet - F-14)

  17. Ensure that the throttle lever is on the OFF position (full back), before starting the engine. If it's not you have to press the red button next to the right of the throttle and then follow the normal procedure
  18. I remember that according to an older post (think from jojo) , a hard lock provide the missile during launch with more data or the missile has at that time more data about the target available. But I don't remember if it was a theoretic analysis or if it is implemented in the game engine.

  20. Ι agree. It's highly recommended. I never thought that we could actually fly a dcs level m2000, due to the fact that there isn't much information available on the real aircraft on the net. You have to consider that the module isn't yet feature complete. But it is in an advanced state, and the missing things / bugs will come /resolved. Also, it is very interesting to fly a non us /russian aircraft, the french development approach is different in some systems

In my opinion, with the exception of some critical radar and FM bugs, a fully functional HUD and weapons employment system is essential for the successful use of the M2000 in his primary intercept role and should have taken priority over the rest (even to the INS position update bug or the TAS inaccuracy). I personally think that the triangle, lock tones, magic in background while system is in GUN mode etc. are fully functional and not cosmetic features.
  22. The need for implementation of the triangle and the lock tones was announced several months ago. I won't lie, i'm little disappointed when i see the progress on Harrier's Hud, while such basic (and relative simple to code?) indications are still missing from the Mirage. Perhaps, Zeus could find some time in his schedule to implement them and reduce little the hunger for us M2000 fans
  23. Have several questions, after doing extensive dogfights in the JUST DOGFIGHT multiplayer server. 1) https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2872511&postcount=3052 '' Updated MAGIC lock tone ... Are there (or should be) two separate tones (magic lock - magic tir), or is it one and the same tone, which is triggered in 2 different conditions? If the second tone is different, is he currently implemented ? And should this tone be audible only if the TIR message appears (=radar lock and double ring) or if the magic's seeker is also pointed to the radar lock (=magic + radar lock + double ring) ? Until now I thought that if you hear a tone you can in any case take the shoot, that's not true, since I had a magic seeker tone (target in circle) without a radar designated target, in distances well outside shooting parameters. The MAGIC TIR tone as a separate tone makes perfectly sense to me = you can shoot immediate. 2) In some cases , where I had multiple aircrafts in front of me, I had a good magic + radar lock, and suddenly the circle (magic) separated from the square (radar lock) and my wingman was on the circle and the enemy on the square . That happened although the enemy was on the right side of my hud and the friendly in a shorter distance on the left side (= without crossing in my view the bogeys position). Should this happen or am i missing something? I thought that if you have a magic and radar lock the magic seeker lock is ''fixed'' to the target. And I can understand the importance of the (missing currently) visual indication of the triangle (magic + radar lock) = the missile will follow the locked target. By the way the triangle is magic specific and does not appear with the 530, right? 3) The third question is more DCS World rather than Razbam M2000 specific. Very few of my fights were evolved in a true dogfight, in almost every engagement either me or the enemy or both could achieve a head on kill. a) How is magic's (short range missiles in general) effectiveness coded? Is the kill propability depending on target aspect angle or not? Do i have the same chance to kill the enemy, irrespective if i fire the all aspect missile from the 12 or the 6 o' clock positon? b) I was reading an aviation magazine, which covered a squadron exchange between HAF Mirage 2000's and dutch air force F-16A's in the 90's. The journalist was present on the various briefings and debriefings. According to the article, the dutch leader pilot presented the first day the aim - 9L capabilities and explained, that if the target make's a 6,5 g turn, he could exit the flight envelope of the missile. Is there a minimum high g avoidance threshold coded in our game ?
