You´ll need to open the shape of the Mi-8 in the modelviewer - modelviewer2.exe can be found in the following path \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin The shape you can find here: \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\World\Shapes\MI-8MT_lod0.EDM --> the higher the LOD number the less detailed so just load lod0 In the modelviewer open up the liveries tool, select the Mi-8 and then you can choose your skin to test it - you´ll have to place it in a corresponding folder and also have a description.lua for it. You can check out how this stuff should look like by taking a look at already existing skins on your harddrive which can be found here \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\Liveries\mi-8mt

Not entirley sure - my guess would be exhaust filters or something like that. Haven´t done a Mi-8 livery yet - you could just colorize it bright red / green or something like that and check in the model viewer which part it exactly is. Think they are removeable - so not sure if they are visible in the model viewer by default.

You can get the template here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/texture_templates/mi-8_template/ The pattern itself you have to figure out with help of reference photos .. as the camouflage patterns are not the same with every livery.

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
golani79 replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
BF-110 would also be nice .. :) So many planes still left to do :D Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A6013 mit Tapatalk -
Would be more hyped for a Zero but I´ll take the Corsair as well ^^

Had the same issue .. warmed the engine up real careful at the 2nd attempt .. Still heard strange noises from the engine at the takeoff run but it didn't blow .. Wasn't able to save the U-Boot though :( Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A6013 mit Tapatalk

Thanks a lot for your work! Coming at the right time as I´ve just started a few days a ago with learning the JF-17

I am using a MS Sidewinder FFB2 which is working great for helo flying and MFG Crosswind pedals. As a throttle I have the X-55 ... not the best and a few years old so loose / jittery rotaries, buttons and axis but it hast to do for now.

MFG Crosswind F-16 combat pedals
golani79 replied to rel4y's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Looking good - is there also a video showing the process of installing the pedals? -
If you pull the stick all the way you are a sitting duck in a short amount of time or you will stall out - in both aircraft. Just tried it out to be sure - something must not have been right when you tried (or somehow easy FM was on)

Any experience with this setup - and also tax question
golani79 replied to golani79's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Thanks guys! @VpR81 Do you think the VPC Desk Mount V3 - L would be a better option combined with the 200mm extension? Can´t seem to finde measurements of the Desk Mount so I´m not sure which extension would be suitable. -
Hey guys - I am thinking about getting the following stuff: VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Grip VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base VPC Desk Mount V3 - S Does anyone have any experience which could be shared with this specific setup? Pros / Cons .. I´d like to use the stick for western and eastern style planes - so functionality on the stick --> will it be enough in regards of hats / buttons / ... ? At the moment I´m using a FFB2 with an X-55 throttle (planning to replace the throttle in the future with a CM3 from Virpil) Also - I´m living in Austria and the store gives me a tax approximation of ~105€ .. how accurate is it. Any experiences on this front? Do I need to worry to make up for any differences or is it calculated accurately when the shipping address is filled in? Thanks in advance!

Aileron tab is acting as elevator tab ?
golani79 replied to Damocles's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
When I use elevator trim in the Jug then it starts rolling / turning to the left and it becomes almost unflyable - even if you set the trimwheel to neutral afterwards. Doesn´t seem to work for me - tried all possible settings with FF Tune. Works fine on other modules though. -
Who will win the race between the Mi-24 and the OH-58?
golani79 replied to Razorback's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
I don´t care who wins the race - I´ll only get the Mi-24 anyways. Was kinda disappointed with the Gazelle so not getting any further modules from PC for now. -
New VR user - G2 edge blur - "slightly underwhelmed"
golani79 replied to zildac's topic in Virtual Reality
Thinking about getting a G2 for myself in the future as well .. still using the Quest 1 Link Image quality in terms of sharpness isn't too good with it and the sweetspot is also a bit small but the immersion is just great. I've seen some comparisons between RiftS and G2 (inlens) and the differences are huge in my opinion - like day and night. The blurry edges is just something we will need to deal with for some time I think before hardware and also prices get in a consumer friendly range. Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A6013 mit Tapatalk -
Not so sure .. I own all WW2 birds and I´d still buy an Emil, Friedrich, Gustav ... I´ve also heard from multiple other people that they would also be interested in older variants of the 109 or planes in general.

Pilot head movement in the cockpit
golani79 replied to amazingme's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Yeah, TrackIR in the 109 isn´t the best .. I still get stuck in different positions a lot of times. In VR the cockpit really feels good and you can move your head way better than with TrackIR (I know you have 1:1 translation/movement with VR but I think there has to be something that can be improved with the TrackIR implementation)
