winter update still on track? (yak-52 candlelit vigil)
golani79 replied to twistking's topic in DCS: Yak-52
It is something else though if the art department moves on because there is nothing left to do for them. For the coders, if there are unfinished parts or bugs there still would be more than enough to do on the old project. But then pushing out new EA modules generates more money than working on EA modules which have already been released. Doesn´t feel too good from a customers view as the development of the 52 really is dragged out and it is one of the simpler aircraft. Purchased it as well back when it was available for EA. -
My guess - it will still need a good amount of time before we get the reworked FM. What bothers me also is the missing FFB support - this really sucks as it is a dream to fly the other helos with the FFB stick. There are only 2 modules which I regret buying and these are the Hawk and the Gazelle :-/ Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A6013 mit Tapatalk

I really hope for a Zero as well!

Since I am still waiting for Oculus Link I also bought Ultra Wings to get my feet wet with VR flying. You can change the comfort level in the game - maybe for the beginning you could try with the most comfortable option. I´ve only done a few sessions myself but it does get better with time. Just take it slow and if you feel sick then take a break. How long will it take? No idea - my guess is that its different for everyone.

Will try - thanks!

Can we have the new WW2 canopy effects for the Mig-15?
golani79 replied to Lixma 06's topic in DCS: MiG-15bis
A general overhaul of the 15s cockpit would be nice - also of the 86 :D -
Has anyone tried fighting a Mig-15? Just did the gun tutorial - I wasn´t able to get my sights onto the 15 but wasn´t shot either. So it pretty much was a draw - got close sometimes but it never was enough. I mainly tried using its speed and climbing power. Some advice maybe? I don´t have much experience in dogfighting with jets as I mostly flew WWII birds in the past. The FM felt great though - it is a lot of fun flying it!

Wäre nice, wenns auch ne WWII Variante geben würde bzw. wenn man die Assets auswechseln könnte.

I know this works in the Mig-15 but in the 19 I wasn´t able to find the frequency in the kneeboard. Do we need a mod for this or should it be there by default? (maybe I was just blind - need to look again)
-
Tuning the ADF is still buggy - did the training yesterday and it was tiresome. Had to make use of active pause because fiddling around to get the right frequency took forever.

Guten Rutsch euch allen!

I flew it on BS a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it depends on the mission which is running if the CW is available or not?
-
Yes, you can.
-
The tail wheel is connected to the rudder - maybe it´s just an animation missing? Haven´t checked in external camera.
-
Got it now in the sale - mostly to support the Dev as well. I think it is a well made module. Lots of character and details and it is quite a challenge (mostly so on the ground :D ) FFB is implemented as well and works nicely - it is a joy to fly. It may be slow but it turns like hell - I guess in MP your biggest chances are against unaware enemies though (if you can catch them ^^) Looking forward to further updates (radio?) and hoping for more modules from OctopusG as I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this module!

Just checked - nothing new on the FB page.

I really hope our german warbirds will get some love in the sound department

You would need to have the open beta installed to get the update for Normandy. If you run the stable client you´ll have to wait longer for the update to be rolled out.
-
Latest version of open beta: I just recognized today, when flying a fast mission, that there were too many rockets on the F-86 After firing everything there are still 2 pairs just hanging under the inner side of the wings (haven´t fired all in the screenshot but it was then, when I recognized the 2 extra pairs). Attached a track file where I just fired everything in the beginning - the 2 pairs are left and nothing can be done with them. Trackfile attached LastMissionTrack.zip

Just took the Viggen out for a spin and realised that the FFB trim on the pitch axis still is wrong (or is it again?) It works just fine in the Tomcat but not in the Viggen. edit: Got it solved - but I had to setup the FFB different than for the F-14
