AFAIK the Fenestron tail rotor does not produce that effect as the rear rotor is centrally set and is not off set to the left or high on the tail boom like conventional tail rotors. also if it did happen to have this effect it would hang to the right as main rotor spins clockwise as opposed to counter clockwise like the Huey for example. and the Gazelle moves a lot & is skittish as hell at take off, i'd imagine even more so when it has ~40kg of gear bolted just forward of it c.o.g (imagine trying to stand still with a couple kilo's of books stapled above your eyebrow you'd want to keep move forward too)

Probably - volatile would be understatment, not sure weather they hit the ground or overhead wires or something else http://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2015/jul/17/helicopter-crashes-into-pub-abbeyshire-ireland-video

Pretty sure Columbia Tri-star (Sony now) own the copyright to the image & likeness of Blue Thunder, so might be a bit of red tape there :(

"Tail Swing Bite" possible with the Flight Model?
Dingo_Bob replied to Aerovenator's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
This was discussed ad nauseam in the main Gazelle thread, the out come was that the situation is only produced due to pilot error, and is supposedly very hard to reproduce if you fly correctly and know your left foot from your right :D Shouldn't see why it wouldn't be reproducible in the sim if all things are modeled correctly -
How can I remove the shadow of the tree?
Dingo_Bob replied to Vitormouraa's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It's not so much the shadow of the trees on the ground but the shadows of a tree casting onto itself (think of it as each leaf on a tree casting a shadow onto the rest of the tree) now multiply that x one hundred million trees per scene & say bye bye to fps -
1. Mirage - Flavour of the month (year) excellent fun to fly 2. F-86 - just fun to fly humming the theme for it in your head all day long :D 3. UH1 - great module 4. Bf109 - for being a painful frustration to get in the air at first but rewarding when you do :D The Tomcat's most likely going to the top with all likelyhood the Gazelle up there too in the interim good year so far so much to come

very nice, wish I had the time & patience to learn how to model & code :D
-
^^ give it about 20 minutes and you should be able to re-watch it on Matts channel possibly Great stream, shame he didn't fly into the Mountain area wanted to see the textures there see if they were as good a Barthek's

As much as I want it now!!, until we see a selectable semi competant AI operating in the alpha / beta, I feel we might be waiting a wee bit longer, I hope I'm wrong though cause I've got a load of cash burning a whole in my paypal account waiting to splurge on this :D

IIRC the wire on the HOT can be cut manually mid flight / after reaching it's limit on the spool or by contact with environment, if the wire is cut does the missile continue on trajectory until it makes contact on it flight path or until it runs out of energy or does it go into an abort profile and turn skyward and explode safely?

Would you all go back under your rocks :D I kid, but nearly all these questions were answered in the last Q&A and over the last 3 years in the Gazelle thread Q. Will the Gazelle be one of the modules able to support the Garmin Sat Nav add on thingy that's coming, and can it carry troops in the rear seats? (dropping off a JTAC to his observation position type mission)
-
^^ are you using JSGME? if so then disable the mod first then edit the .lua, save & reactivate it
-
No one ever said delivered read my post again it says "will deliver" Anyway, not arguing, we've all had a taste of the sugar and want more to keep the buzz going
-
So much entitlement in this thread all of a sudden, get a grip, The last 4 years have been great, the whole team at Polychop have been brilliant and as promised from day one they will deliver a fully fledged module and from what I can see they have done just that, I love they fact that now the finish line is in sight for them they can start to tease with posts to get us going and stuff like the "we know something you don't know" type posts & threads are brilliant and add to the hype & tension waiting for release I say well done guys and hats off to you for what looks like will be a very popular module
-
in notepad++ just change the value after the = at the end of "new_K=" to whatever you want the smaller the figure the larger the text on the HUD will be just save it no conversion needed, but you could make it JSGME compatible so it doesn't get overwritten by updates, and to be safe save a copy of original before you edit it

Blue Thunder whisper mode confirmed :D
-
that's not a target mark it's a waypoint marker, YoYo switches to it to get a bearing to target area to judge his release distance so the GBU picks up the laser from high altitude without the pipper
-
The Mirage uses millibars, you can get it by multiplying the QFE (inHG) by 33.8637526 Thanks Azrayen, I stand corrected :D very rusty at the old theory I knew as I was typing it it didn't sound right over 25 years since I actually used it in practice :D this site is quite handy too http://www.hochwarth.com/misc/AviationCalculator.html :D Sniped

I think what Sacha meant was, use the Standalone and buy modules form the ED store but add DCS to Steam as a shortcut "Add a non steam game to my library" that way you still have Steams functionality but not restricted to waiting for modules to transition to steam

From what I gather, for both CCIP & CCRP the objective is one pass and haul ass, so instead of trying to pinpoint one bomb at a time you run in carpet the target area and egress the f**k outta there, maybe 2 passes if you've enough loaded munitions GBU'S (as implied in the name Guided Bomb Unit) are for pintoint and need a lase / gps / ir so call in a budy or JTAC fairly simple, stop trying to use the platform for something it was not primarily intended to do and make do with what we got, which is still quite a lot

The Battlefield Vietnam Soundtrack was always a good mix, if you can find the version that includes the base radio with DJ's talking & making base announcements inbetween songs it quite good and atmospheric :D
