Several years ago + feeling instead of knowing for sure through many trials is not good enough. (I've been there many times) Approach it from the ground up. It can be a simple switch not found in other modules/aircraft that's by default off like the pesky A-10C APU GEN switch. The APU might be running, sound queues are not good enough as you said you took some time off, and the APU Gen is off giving you only cockpit partial power and a bad diagnosis. To add on what others helpful people pointed out above: Go with a start up checklist, un-modded Warthog, check the right front lower panel especially the APU Gen switch. Fair skies.

That 'Play All' button is absolutely cursed!! I was with headphones on. This is some all star work superb database and the 'quiz' is something that adds so much value on the learning experience, some manuals could benefit the inspiration from it. I cannot imagine memorizing all of this, at all. Is it an attainable proficiency to recognize these sounds?! I'll re visit it in the future for sure.

Hi. It turns out I found the mentions because it was on another thread instead. See this locked thread page and NineLine posts from January. Cheers. P.S.: I'm not saying it is 'official'. I'm just reiterating my previous mention's details on the correct thread. "everything is subject to change"

Room for new cargo models as well. ...oh well. Dreaming is free.

I've always adored this heli. Pure wow factor every time I used to see it in documentaries. Plus it have the AAR capability, so it would be a first heli in DCS to be able to do that. Plus while hauling something underneath. If the FF C-130 gets an air refuel system and the CH-53 is in DCS, we'll be able to do this madness in co-op.

See BeyondATC for another sim. https://www.beyondatc.net/features For actual ATC work there needs to be a system inside DCS and that ED needs to code/overhaul, which they are doing as per previous newsletters throughout the years. It is a bit meaningless to have audio interaction with an AI and no sim reaction to that, like AI planes obeying to ATC and the ATC managing actual traffic (to be fair, they do a bit) among other many things.

Request for Improved DCS API for Tacview Performance
Czar replied to Slice313's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I only understood some of those words but I hope you're right. I stopped using tacview for a few reasons and the performance was on the top of the list. -
If you posted this 1 week ago, I could link you the conversation on the Razbam situation thread. Now the old posts are deleted. DM NineLine or BIGNEWY to get the info.

CMs already stated the team responsible for other REDfor planes will be the MiG-29 team and that product must be successful. Recent posts made clear there are intentions of making popular Russian jets and the F-35 has nothing to do with it. The only thing keeping ED from making them is workforce as of now as things seems to have switched from the past years. They just need to get the 29A out of the door and the community that begs for redfor aircraft needs to buy it.

Keep in mind you guys, with any TGP installed, the Viper needs a bit of rudder trim out of neutral if you're after a perfectly steady trimmed plane. Not mandatory. I found myself going after trimming roll all the time up high and a bit of rudder trim resolved the unwanted yaw/roll. (it is really tiny)

Do a fast repair. Turn your pagefile to 30gb on a fast drive (sata or nvme SSD). Your DCS log points at only 2gb of pagefile set. Check for thermal issues on that i5 12600KF. I have the same CPU and that thing is HOT. Thermal issues will provoke system shutdown: Limit your fps and change cooler for that CPU if a thermal issue is found.

As a nVidia card owner, I find this sad and ridiculous. It is ironic on how much neglect there is on nVidia for VRAM on newer cards and DCS eats VRAM like there is no tomorrow. "Most benchmarks" features games that run on consoles. Your card has only 8gb of VRAM. Try to look at a hardware resource monitor to see if your VRAM is the bottleneck.

Keep your control panel options default. Exceptions are: fps limiter. Turn up your pagefile to 30gb on a fast drive (SATA or NVME SSD). Your DCS log pointed at 9gb pagefile. Run DCS from the 'bin' folder. Your DCS log points at the .exe inside 'bin-mt' being run. That was for the times where Multi Threading was being tested optionally. You don't need to crank up the preload radius. You can give it a try on 60k to 80k range. I find strange to be mandatory a large custom pagefile if you want to run DCS, but it has been the standard practice if encountering stutters on a good system like yours.

investigating mk82, 83 bombs explosion radius too large after update?
Czar replied to SalakauHeadman's topic in Weapon Bugs
At 6:35 : It seems something is off with the chutes and high drag bomb speeds are very slow when in terminal velocity, though. Maybe something changed since your comment. -
Potentially GOAT mod!!

Tough times for GPUs at the moment. What @virgo47 said is on point. It is better to avoid using the VRAM tips for general games in DCS. It is not only resolution that will scale the usage of your VRAM. DCS has massive assets and textures, unlike the normal videogame that can run on a console, so you'll need VRAM to load the assets 1080p or not. It is one of the main reasons hardware outlets said that 12gb of VRAM on a 3060 was "too much" and not necessary. They don't play DCS or memory heavy sims nor majority of their audience. Textures anything other than maximum is a harsh degrade and not recommended in older modules as the cockpit will become unreadable in everything other than gauges. Getting your hands on a 16gb+ current gen card or nothing is the best way to go with this. Best of luck with the build.

user resolved Why do my Mavericks keep missing?
Czar replied to Madman1's topic in Bugs and Problems
Correct. It is a fire and forget weapon. The H is a "digital TV" guided CCD. This is a classic case for uploading a track for people to see what's going on. -
I get it. :)) It would be sublime Nam or Korea. But that south portion of Iraq is taking a while.

They better be working on the unfinished maps instead, though....

I should of been more direct in my previous comment: Just toss the manual file inside 'docs' folder into your phone or any other handheld device >before flight< instead of relying on google (highly degraded search engine), AI (bloat of regurgitated nonsense) or a website. Lack of manual in hand midflight are a user side problem. The files are always up to date in 'dcs' root folder.

More paths for accessibility are almost always nice..... BUT, here is something better: When I was getting back into the Hornet in 2021, to dust off major amounts of rust, I had put the whole manual from it (in 'docs' folder) in my cellphone on a easily accessible folder. Just that. Simple and much better than relying on internet connectivity. I did the same for the Warthog and it was a breeze to get a "bump" ironed out. I'm currently learning the Apache as well and you reminded me of what I did with the Hornet with this thread. Cool ideas. Manuals should be everywhere indeed. Try out putting in a hand held device the .pdf manual you most rely on... or every single one and I'd bet you won't regret it.

I think it is in a different scope or they would 100% already had showcased it. Perhaps in a upgrade down the line.
